The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives by Kristin Miller is one of those books that I’ll be talking about for a long time! It’s absolutely addicting! I loved the characters, the twisted plot, & the shocking ending. This book deserves more than five stars!

3.5/5 Despite this being a soap opera-esque, highly dramatic story, I still enjoyed this thriller that was centered upon three wealthy women in Northern California. I appreciate thrillers told from multiple perspectives, so I enjoyed reading from the viewpoints of both news-anchor-turned-stay-at-home-wife Erin and newcomer/shiny new trophy wife Brooke. That said, both of these narrators felt very flat and their storylines, particularly Erin's, left much to be desired. On top of this, both of their husbands were completely unlikeable. Regardless of my inability to connect with a character, I couldn't put the book down! This is a testament to Miller's writing, which was fast-paced and left me wanting to figure out what was happening and what the truth was.

Although I felt there were some unanswered questions and that some things came together too easily or perfectly, I still enjoyed reading this story. The plot and details that moved the story along were ridiculous and completely farfetched at times, but the fast pace and quick turns of events towards the end helped push my rating up. I was far from bored while reading and would definitely pick up another book by this author.

Loved it! This book is like watching any of the Real Housewives...a wonderful guilty pleasure! Colorful, beautifully flawed characters and a who done it you’ll never figure out. This would make a great movie! Grab a copy for you next beach read!

This book would be great for those who follow the Real Housewives TV series.

The story follows 3 women of a very prestigious subdivision that only the wealthiest, most elite live.

The Black Widow is one of the women you’ll follow as you try to figure out if she really killed her husbands or were they really just accidents as she claims.

There’s the news anchor that loves to gossip and gave Black Widow title to her neighbor.

And finally there’s the author that finds the other two fascinating enough to want to put them in her book. (I hope you don’t find that as a spoiler)

The lives of these women seem so petty and simple on the surface but they are really anything but.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for “granting my wish” with an eARC in an exchange for my honest review.

This was such a fast, addictive, don’t want to put it down, read! A true guilty pleasure. I needed to find out what the wealthy women who lived in the ultra rich , exclusive gated community were up to and why.

You’ll be hooked from the first chapter. Who is the black widow? And why are all of her husbands dying?! She’s getting married again and at their pre wedding celebration party, her fiancée goes missing. A new neighbor happens to see something questionable, and the whodunnit begins. The twist at the end was unexpected and made the book that much better!

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives follows three “trophy wives.”

First there is Brooke Davies, who is a mystery writer and is married to an older man, who’s a tech millionaire. Jack has been extremely controlling, and now that Brooke is befriending the other women, Jack worries he’s looking he grip on her.

Then there’s Erin King who has quit her job as a news anchor to try to keep her plastic surgeon husband interested.

And finally, theres Georgia St. Claire, who’s previous two husbands have died and now she’s on her third marriage.

The story is told in the perspective of all three women, though a majority of the story is in Erin and Brooke’s point of view, in first person. I love the writing of this and got hooked on this book from the first page when we open with Georgia in a hospital bed six days before the start of the novel, and it has us questioning the entire novel, how did she get there? As we continue reading, we find out that Georgia being in the hospital isn’t the “tragic accident” mentioned in the synopsis, there’s much more to it than that!

**Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this early. Review to be posted on blog an

As I was reading this, I was thinking ‘who would want to be a trophy wife?’ Once I finished the last page...I thought...not a bad gig after all.
Three women live in the luscious California gated community. Wives of the rich. Homes decorated so beautifully. No one has small children- they mess up homes and disrupt the neighborhood.
These women are meant to be arm candy. Spend their husbands wealth and be perfect in every way. Except for a The Black Widow- she’s thought to have killed her first two husbands although both were ruled as accidents.
When Brooke moves in- she is whisked into the same life. She writes her books in her spare time and brunches/mimosas with her new friends as well. Life is good.
Until Georgia (The Black Widow) new fiancé is found missing...with a ransom. Is she up to her old tricks or is someone after her?
You will not figure out this twist until it hits you in the face. My favorite kind of thriller.

Erin, Georgia and now Brooke could be called trophy wives. They are rich, beautiful and are married to handsome successful men. Well, not Georgia, yet. She was married twice previously. Both men rich and successful, both men dead. One died falling down the stairs. The other died by a self inflicted gun shot to the head. Her fiancee, Robert, is wealthy and handsome. They will be getting married in a few days. It seems he isn't scared of the "black widow" as his wife.
Erin is married to Mason a plastic surgeon. Everything seems perfect in their world. Except he's a cheat and a liar.
Brooke is married to Jack. She writes books and he owns a successful business.
They are happily married, but don't actually have the traditional marriage.
I think it's time to get rid of another husband. Hmmm, who to call.
A great story with great twis and turns. I enjoyed reading this book. I was given this book to read and review by the publisher.
Recommended.

I was not a fan of this book. The story was so unbelievable, and I can get over a few plot holes that just don’t make sense to me. The ending is way too much of a stretch. The author seemed to want to promote females sticking together, but these women were just the worst.

What happens behind the gates in the uber-rich San Francisco neighborhood of Presidio Terrace? As we follow the lives of several women in this exclusive local. Think Dynasty or Dallas from the ’80s, except with a darker suspense side. The twisty lives these women lead, and the ugly they married, as the author, says “the women who are perfectly flawed.”

I devoured the story, and I do recommend it. The story is entertaining and a page-turner, always on my toes.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine for the advance copy; this is my voluntary review.

This review will go to Goodreads about June 30, 2021, and Amazon on Release Day, July 30, 2021.

I really enjoyed this book and loved how descriptive the author was with the three main characters, each holding their on dark secret! So many twists and turns and I definitely didn't see the conclusion coming! One of the few mysteries I read that I was completely shocked by!

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives by Kristin Miller is a complicated, ominous, at times humorous, compelling read. Georgia, Brooke, and Erin are not very appealing characters and at times downright horrible but you want to keep turning the pages to find out what they are going to do next. Interesting twist at the end. Entertaining psychological drama.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Kristin Miller is a new-to-me author and now I cannot wait for more! The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives was a dark, twisty and delicious read. Brooke and her tech-billionaire husband move into a stunning gated community, known for its excellent security and, somewhat surprisingly, a woman called The Black Widow. Brooke is keenly interested in this woman, Georgia, from the time their realtor mentions her. As it turns out, Georgia has had 2 husbands die under suspicious circumstances, and she is set to tie the knot once again. Much to Brooke’s delight, Georgia and her best friend Erin take a liking to her immediately and take her under their wing. However, it’s not all mimosa-soaked mornings and yacht parties in Presidio Terrace. With slow-burn marital suspense, a kidnapping, deceit and murder, this one will having you reading until the wee hours.

This book was pure escapist fun!

Times are stressful, and I have had a few reading slumps lately and this was exactly what I needed.

This story was great and over the top. I loved reading about the lives of these super wealthy, issue-filled women. I loved the mystery of it, the fun and the little twist.. It reminded me of the old Jackie Collins novels from years ago - just pure, well written fun! I would love to read more books like this and will be reading more from this author.

I want to thank the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC which did not impact my review.

This was brilliantly written. There are multiple plot twists and turns. One second the reader thinks she knows what happened, but then the author throws another element to the mystery and the hypothesis changes yet again! It kept me engaged and I finished it within a day!

You. Guys. When I say that I cannot get over the twist, I truly mean it. I was confident that I had the whole book figured out halfway through, but boy was I wrong.

This book gives me serious soap opera/Dead To Me on Netflix/Good Girls vibes and I am here for it.

3 wives as narrators. Dead husbands. Lies. Mimosas. What more could I ask for?? Trust me when I say you won’t regret picking this book up.

Brooke David and her millionaire husband fly to the Bay Area and buy a mansion in an exclusive area so he can be closest to Silicon Valley and his job. While the gossipy real estate agent is showing the house , she tells them that the infamous Georgia St. Claire or “ Black Widow” as the press has dubbed her after two husbands died under questionable circumstances is one of her new neighbors.
Brooke is an author who is struggling to meet her deadline and the idea of Georgia intrigued her.
She gets her opportunity to meet her when another neighbor Erin King introduces herself. Erin is a famous anchor on the news, the head of the HOA and Brookes’ BFF. The two women soon have taken Brooke under their wing and into their confidence. Brooke is soon to marry for the third time and she invites Brooke and her husband to an engagement party on her fiancees yacht but tragedy strikes and once again everyone is asking did the Black Widow claim another victim?
This was such a delightful surprise. I enjoyed the authors previous book “ In Her Shadow” and if you haven’t read it what are you waiting for? A perfect vacation read or for those who keep saying they are in a book slump what should I read? This is it!! Compelling from the first page to the end!
Thank you to #netgalley and #ballantinebooks for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. This is due for publication on July 20th! Be sure to add it to your summer reading list!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was easy to get swept up in the characters and the dialogue so that the “mystery” wasn’t too obviously plotted. Really great writing, great story.
