This would have been a fantastic read on vacation. The characters and story were well developed and overall enjoyable read. I think there were the PERFECT amount of twists and turns in this novel to keep your nose into the book. Brooke, Georgia and Erin gave me desperate housewives vibes.

this book had me hooked from the beginning. A slight touch of morbid comedy mixed with suspense made this a good read.

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives is author Kristin Miller’s dive into thrillers. II can see the quickish pacing and soapy drama that can be the trademark of a romance, and it worked to Miller’s advantage.

In a very posh San Francisco neighborhood with a viciously strict HOA (think: two-inch length grass, garage doors can be open only five minutes OR ELSE FACE THE BOARD’S WRATH), there lived three beautiful, rich women – Brooke, novelist and new wife of a much older tech mogul, Erin, the news anchor and wife of a plastic surgeon and Georgia, the Black Widow.

This book was fairly juicy, and there was even a surprise twist in the end that made my jaw drop and set my Kindle down. Overall, I liked the book. But I did take issue with the lack of redemption in the characters. There was little remorse, acknowledgment of their privilege, or anything to improve womankind. There are some aspects, applied to more serious themes, where I can understand the lack of remorse. But it seems dwarfed by the other antics and shenanigans.

In the end, I view this book as a crazy romp that certainly entertained. But I would not look to this book as an exemplar of good woman’s fiction. It seemed to enforce stereotypes and glamorize a story that could easily fit in with an episode of Dateline.

Private home enclave second-wife drama? Give it to me! This is a Real-Housewives-type neighborhood, complete with an alleged black widow, a nosy reporter, and a new girl married to someone 20+ years her senior. There are unreliable narrators, secrets, and more money than most of us will see in our lives.

It quickly becomes a mystery when the black widow's soon-to-be-husband disappears and everyone is trying to solve the mystery. Overall, this is exactly the perfect kind of summer book that doesn't require deep thinking but is enjoyable throughout. Both the small-talk and action is good to read!

This was a really fun read. This book will keep you guessing the whole time you’re reading it. The book is told from the POV of three different women. The characters are a bit over the top. But they will keep you interested in the story. I recommend checking it out!

This book was very entertaining and "soapy" feeling. It felt like the show Desperate Housewives but in a book version. This book kept me flipping pages, and the ending was very surprising. What a fun beach read!

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives is deliciously riveting! There are 3 narrators; Georgia, Erin and the new trophy wife Brooke. Even their names sound like trophy wife names! Ever wondered what it would be like to be a spoiled trophy wife? Look no further!
The writer has a great writing style. I was enthralled with those savage women from the start! Georgia is on to husband #3 after the first two died mysteriously. Erin just quit her job and is on the brink- is her husband cheating? And Brooke is hiding something...
I didn't love any characters but I liked to see what they were up to! It's high drama with Real Housewives vibes and a twist of Dallas. Take your drink slowly and enjoy the wicked fun!
3.5 stars and thank you to the publisher for this guilty pleasure.

I have a new favorite author! I found it very difficult to put this book down. The beginning opens with a hospital scene where it's obvious there was a bad accident and nurses are debating over whether or not the patient looks like a woman that's been all over the news. The one that is called The Black Widow.

Then the book picks up before the accident where a couple purchases a new home in the upscale neighborhood with tight security. Jack and Brooke Davies. Jack is a CEO of a search engine company and Brooke is a mystery author. Jack is much older than his wife, which immediately gets Erin King's attention. Erin, a news anchor, lives across the street and is married to a plastic surgeon, Mason. Georgia St. Claire lives next door, and rumor has it that she killed two husbands. She is now engaged to be married to Robert.

The three women quickly become close friends. Jack and Brooke are invited to the pre-wedding party on Robert's yacht. As the evening ends, Brooke accepts an invite to stay overnight on the yacht along with Erin, the bride-to-be, and the groom-to-be. Brooke's reasons for staying on board are selfish and when she is unable to fall asleep, a noise draws her to investigate. The following morning, Georgia is beside herself because Robert is nowhere to be found on the yacht.

With a wedding to take place in three days, the police informing Georgia that maybe Robert has cold feet, but it is Georgia that knows it's not quite so simple.

Georgia's crass humor kept me second-guessing her character. Brooke seemed to live in her husband's shadow and was content to go under the radar. I thought Erin was strong-willed and a go-getter and as layers were peeled back none are what they appear to be. It kept me glued to the pages to see what would take place next and the bombshells kept coming. I was shocked at the ending. Did not see that coming at all.

I received an ARC from NetGalley via Random House Publishing Group--Ballantine and I have voluntarily reviewed this book.

Such a great domestic thriller! This did not end up being exactly what I expected but in a good way! Three friends in a neighborhood, a missing fiancé, two dead husbands. What more could you want?

This one explores relationships, friendships, and so much more. It will take you on twists and turns that you did not see coming! This is a great reads for fans of suspense but also social hierarchy and friendships.

I absolutely loved this one.

This was a fast-paced and exciting book. Right off the bat you are immersed into the lives of the main characters and sucked in! I highly recommend this read.

I am very conflicted about this book. I found lots of "holes" in the storyline that just were never answered. I enjoyed reading this book but the women in the story just didn't seem real. The writing was easy to follow but too many things just didn't add up which left me very confused. Characters were hard to get to know, what you think about them in one chapter may change in the next chapter. I was surprised by the ending, a great twist!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. This book was a fun ride from start to finish! I was hooked right away and I love a book that takes place close to where I live. Loved the drama, and all of the twists and turns. Definitely recommend for a fast paced, juicy real housewives-esque story!

This was such a quick and wickedly fun read. It read a lot like a Desperate Housewives episode, which was totally fine with me. I loved the different viewpoints from Erin, Georgia, and Brooke. I wouldn't say this book was full of substance, but if you've read a few heavy books and need a break from your own mind, this is the perfect palate cleanser. Obviously, I was rooting for the girls the entire time, so the ending had me cheering. If you're into guilty pleasure reads, this is right up your alley.

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives
By Kristin Miller

I really enjoyed this exciting read that kept me guessing as to what happened from that riveting beginning. In this story we are introduced to three very wealthy women – the trophy wives of the prestigious and exclusive neighborhood in San Francisco, Presidio Terrace.

The novel is written from the point of views of these women – Brooke the newest housewife in the neighborhood who is married to a tech billionaire and keeping up appearances to maintain the perfect marriage. Then there is Erin King, the news anchor married to a surgeon , and lastly Georgia whose two previous husbands died and earning herself the name Black Widow.

I found the read intriguing though the characters were a bit over the top at times, I still found myself quite intrigued by the book and the storyline with a very satisfying ending I did enjoy.

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives didn't exactly live up to what I had expected.
Think of Real Housewives, but with murder. The characters were flat and the plot predictable.
I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't a good read for me.

If you were a fan of Dynasty or Dallas back in the day, this book is for you! Full of drama, backstabbing, drama, fancy living and of course, extreme first world problems.
The women of Presidio Terrace are very privileged and they know it. Georgia is now known as the black widow as her two previous husbands died within their first year of marriage and now she’s engaged again. Brooke is a writer and the newest neighbor. Then there’s Erin, the HOA stickler and the local news anchor. Together they are a dynamic combination.
I don’t want to give anything away, and I think it’s best to go in blind like I did in order to get the most bang for your buck with this one!
Thanks to Ballantine Books and Netgalley for this Arc in exchange for my review.

I loved a good, trashy, campy TV show about the rich and famous back in the days of Dallas and Dynasty. And this book will absolutely appeal to people who love that stuff. But I've never been able to bring myself to watch an episode of any of the Real Housewives, and so a book - well maybe this book just wasn't the best choice for me. It's hard for me to put my finger on just where it fell a bit short for me. I didn't expect to like the characters (and I'm not a reader who needs to like the characters in a book) - but these people were exceptionally unlikeable. There was a mystery involved, and while the resolution of that mystery did surprise me, somehow it didn't all completely hang together for me in the end. Ultimately I suppose it verified what I've always suspected - being a trophy wife may look good on the surface, but the reality wouldn't really be much fun at all. It did make me grateful for my boring middle-class existence, and that's something. I'm sure there's a huge audience that will love this book - it just wasn't for me.
