I loved this romance story. The family and relationship was so well included in the overall character growth and the romance just blossom throughout the book.

Beautiful written and heartwarming story.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

Award-winning photographer Alejandro Miranda hasn't been home to Key West in years--not since he left to explore broader horizons with his papi's warning echoing in his ears.
Anamaría Navarro was shattered when Alejandro took off without her. Traveling the world was their plan, not just his.
Alejandro and Anamaria are prime examples of the right person wrong time. These two truly haven't loved anyone else since their breakup over a decade ago. Poor communication, however, wrecked them. But time and distance have allowed them both to mature.
The book is a perfect summer and beach read while enjoying it with a simple mocktail.
The diversity and characters aspect was something I enjoyed as well.
The story definitely is a slow-burn romance and more about second chances.

Such a cute book! It's not the most exciting of romances I've read but was certainly enjoyable. This would be a great beach read.

Anchored Hearts was the sweetest little island rom-com and it was a pleasure to read. I look forward to more from Priscilla Oliveras.

Was not able to read the entirety of the book and cannot give an accurate or overall rating/review . As a librarian for a big library system, we most likely have a copy of this item. I will look forward to reading it in future since I am sure I will.

Anchored Hearts by Priscilla Oliveras was a wonderful “beach read.” I loved “Island Affair” and was so happy to receive this advanced copy. Her writing is descriptive and makes you feel transported which is perfect during the winter months.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for this digital arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was just okay for me. I REALLY enjoyed the first book in the series (which was 5 stars for me) so I was super excited to get into this one. Unfortunately, I just didn't care for the charachters as much. I loved the family aspect, I love second chance romances... I just didn't care about the romance. The couple in the first book grabbed me more. I still enjoyed it, I just did not love it.

Priscilla can do no wrong in my book. She is an autobuy author. I really loved this series. Priscilla was a guest on the podcast promoting this book.

I enjoyed this second chance story of Anamarie and Alejandro. I loved how they were constantly thrown together and they never stopped caring for each other. I loved learning about Anamarie’s career as a fitness influencer and Alejandro’s career as a photographer. It was hard to see how Alejandro’s father treated him just because he wouldn’t pursue his family business. I wish the ending would’ve had a little more, but otherwise I enjoyed this and went through it quickly.

I enjoyed this follow up to Island Affair. Second chance is one of my favorite tropes and it was fun reading about a female firefighter. It was interesting reading about a mans insecurities about following his dreams since there is the constant portrayal of the expectations out on women. I hope to see a third about the other brother in this fire fighting family

I loved getting lost in this book! In the family dynamics. The rich history. And the second chance romance that's Alejandro and Anamaría!

Side note all the talk of food gave me some serious Cuban cravings! I'm Latina but from Nuevo Mexico, which is a its own subdivision of #Latinx. We are diverse and I loved seeing the Cuban-American side of things 😘

Ale, is a photographer who left his hometown and his first love Anamaría (...his only love) who he has to face now that he's back and healing from a major injury. Anamaría is a hometown girl rooted in familia and comunidad, but the outside world is calling her as her own business is beginning to flourish. Watching these two find their way back to each other was fireworks and heartwarming all at once.

I love all the side characters and can I just say those meddling mamís are sin vergüenza!! 😂😂😂

I don’t read a lot of romance, BUT WHEN I DO, I love being pulled into the story and falling in love not only with the main characters but their familias! This was such an enjoyable read. 🌸

The story is about two high school sweethearts who grow apart—physically and otherwise—when Alejandro leaves Key West after high school grad. Unexpected circumstances bring him back a dozen years later, and their meddling mamis are essentially forcing them to face decade-old feelings. Right from the get-go, I could hear the Mamis’ voices speaking. I could feel the love radiating from Annamaría’s familia and Alejandro’s familia, who are closely connected in their communidad. And I could feel her disdain for her ex, the tension between them—but I could also feel all the unspoken words, over a decade of denied feelings, presumptions. The tension kept building and I was rooting for Annamaría and Ale the entire time!

I loved how Oliveras uses Spanish throughout the book—and she seamlessly weaves in subtle translations in a way that doesn’t detract from the story or pacing. I don’t know a lot of Spanish, but I easily understood what was being said, and I enjoyed learning some new words and phrases.

The closeness of their familias was admirable.

There was undeniable attraction between Annamaría and Ale, and the more she told herself she wasn’t going to let old flames spark up again, the more I was like, “oh yes you are!” lol.

Photography has a special place in my heart as well, so the fact that Ale is a famed photographer, how Oliveras describes his photos as well as the act of him setting up for them spoke to me. And the scene at Bellísima’s brought tears to my eyes!

Having the story take place in Key West does NOT hurt, either. I visited Key West for a few days about 12 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the area. Even though it’s been a while, I recognized some of the areas mentioned and even some street names and it was kind of a trip down memory lane. If I wasn’t wanting to go back before, I certainly am now!

Overall, if you like to read contemporary romance novels, I definitely recommend Anchored Hearts. It uses beautiful imagery, it’s intense, it’s 🔥steamy🔥, and there’s a huge sense of familial bond which I adored. I loved all the characters—including Ale’s papi!

I received this arc for an honest review.

Alejandro has returned home but not by choice, no the award-winning photographer is hurt so he is recovering. His mother is very happy to have him instead of traveling the World, his father not so much.
Anamaria was planning on going with Alejandro when he was leaving so many years ago, but instead, she stayed in her Miami neighborhood. She is now a firefighter and paramedic, also works as a trainer which her and his mother used as a reason to put them back together or they hope.
Anamaria thought she had gotten over her feelings for him only now to have him back is stirring them back up again. He is still hurt that she did not leave with him but she could not leave when her father just had a heart attack. Can they work anything out? Can he and his father make some kind of peace? Read this wonderful story of family and food, love, and just life as this author weaves a wonderful story together.

I tried really hard to get into this book and it's completely possible it was just my mindset at the time. I can see myself enjoying Anchored Hearts at a later date but right now, it just wasn't for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a review copy. I adored this book. Shout it from the rooftops love over here. Anamaría and Alejandro’s love story is tense, electric and oh so steamy, and you need this second chance romance in your life. Also, it was emotional! The family drama tearing everyone apart had me in tears… twice! Can’t wait to read the authors next books! 💕

There wasn’t a lot of steam but there was some pining. I teared up a few times but overall I enjoyed it. Not my fav romance but it was good.

This is a cute romance read. I can relate somehow because my real life boyfriend is Hispanic and I can understand the family meddling. Second chances too is something I can relate too. There was a little bit more Spanish than I expected but I understood them because I’ve been with my boyfriend for six years. The story was predictable but I still enjoyed it.

Thank you, for providing me with an ARC of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Anchored Hearts is the second book in the Keys To Love series from Priscilla Oliveras. This is the story of Luis’s sister Anamaría’s story. We follow Anamaría and Alejandro in this second chance romance story. Alejandro didn’t want to return to Key West after the way he left the island. His family is at odds with him and his ex-girlfriend, the girl who haunts him is also there. But circumstances force him to go back home and live in his family home. The Cuban family is just as chaotic and in your business as he left them. Anamaría has only just started to pick up herself from the rut she was in and move on with her life. She now has a promising future ahead of her and does not want Alejandro or anyone to mess up her progress. The two are constantly put together by their interfering Cuban Mami’s in hopes of a reconciliation. The two are however determined to keep their distance and not let the other hurt them anymore. With deep hurts and fears shadowing them, can the two ever find a truce? Will they be able to bury the past and move on?

This is a story of second chances and love and family. We get to see a different Cuban family with different dynamics and see how that changes things drastically. The history and the past of the two characters were laid out for the readers to see. Lack of communication, fear of rejection, and pride were the downfall of their relationship. The two realize the mistakes they made while they were young and have to work towards being better at conflict resolution. Finding a truce and burying the past is not as easy as it seems.

Overall, I am looking forward to the next story for the final Navarro sibling. This is a cute romance, with great family dynamics, food, and Cuban culture all rolled up into a fun story. I gave the book 3.5 stars and recommend checking it out if you enjoy second chance romances.
