The perfect blend of a well written, slow burn romance and elements of the Christmas spirit. Perfect for every moment of the year!

This is a delightful story about a woman who loves Christmas and everything about. Her character is so loveable and the supporting characters are wonderful. Her god-daughter will make you laugh and we all want a best friend like she has. As with most romance stories, the couple doesn’t immediately fall in love but it is a nice journey to take with them. An all round enjoyable romance with the fun of Christmas thrown in.

Absolutely delightful. I read it in one sitting. A perfect Christmas romance read...or to be more accurate a perfect Christmas in July romance read.

Loving this book! Any book that has December in the title and has Christmas romance, already has my heart. I could read these all year round! Christmas came early in this book!

This was a delightful read. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. At first this starts off as one of these books where everything goes wrong for the heroine who gets fired from her job. But Belle is so much more interesting than just being a bad-luck magnet. She’s had an unfortunate childhood with selfish parents who clearly prefer her sister. But she has one really good friend and is godmother to a sweet little girl. The relationship between Belle and her goddaughter is simply lovely.

Enter Rory who has suffered a terrible tragedy for which he can’t get over his sorrow and guilt. He’s been running away from his life for the past five years but now he’s back to help his mother through a health emergency. He runs into Belle whom he knew from their college times. He’s struck by Belle’s strength and determination to make something of her life even though she’s broke and just lost her job.

However, she has one thing going for her. She’s built an enormous website about Shakespeare and has a dream of introducing school children to Shakespeare. Rory tries to help her and she vows to help him learn to enjoy Christmas.

What follows a slow-burn friendship-to-romance story that I couldn’t put down.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

I love kitty Wilson books and couldn’t wait to read this one. I certainly wasn’t disappointed at all different from her Cornish village books but a light heart read and has plenty packed in and great how you go through each day of December. Plenty of romance anxiety cancer and family dynamics and you get drawn in straight away. Perfect read and has the festive spirit thrown in to.
Belle loves Christmas so much has just lost her job and not the best time to find her myself a job and you have her parents who think she should be settled down but will she find the right person.
Then you have Rory who hates Christmas but comes home for the month with his mother ill has he done the right thing and in the month of December will the two find romance or will they run out of time.
Worth far more than five stars and a perfect festive read.

I love me a Christmas romance, but this wasn't your typical Christmas romance. This was a slow burn romance, with just the right amount of holiday cheer thrown in.

Belle and Rory were both well developed characters, that I enjoyed reading about. I love the absolutely joy that Belle was. She put a smile on my face with her antics, her jobs and her passion for Shakespeare and here goddaughter. I also loved how much she loved Christmas and tried to work to get Rory into the Christmas spirit.

There is a lot of different things going on in this book and Kitty Wilson does a great job writing those various storylines. There is grief, cancer, family dynamics, anxiety and so much more, but the book did not feel overcomplicated.

The author sets the scene for this book so well. I could picture myself in these English cities and towns and enjoyed the December magic that was taking place. On of my favourite parts of the book was Marsha, Belle's goddaughter. She was a breath of fresh air that always had me laughing.

This book does tackle some complicated issues, but it also adds a lot of laughter and funny situations to it. It was quite an enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing what else Kitty Wilson writes in the future! I received a copy of this from NetGalley and the publisher for an open and honest review. All opinions are 100% mine.

Reading this book in July has me counting down to Christmas a bit earlier than usual this year but the holiday spirit in this pleasing romance proved to be contagious. Belle and Rory knew each other in college but haven't seen each other in years. Belle is struggling to make ends meet on her own but still maintains a sunny disposition. Rory has been hiding from the world and doesn't plan to change that any time soon but when he starts spending time with Belle and going on her Christmas themed outings he cannot help but start to feel himself thawing. A simple story but one that works well. Both characters are completely likable and I could feel the stress of the day evaporate as I spent time with them. The ending was a tad abrupt but this was a charming read overall.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

One More Chapter is fast becoming my go-to publisher on Netgalley! Perfect reads for every occasion and season and this was no exception. The main character's voice hooked me immediately and I enjoyed the two person POV which doesn't work in every case. A lighthearted summer romance - thoroughly enjoyable!

Have you ever felt like reading a Christmas romance that doesn't read like a cookie cutter Hallmark movie? This is the book for you. I was so pleasantly surprised by the remarkable lack of cheesy after taste. This book was the perfect blend of well written slow burn romance and elements of Christmas spirit.

Belle is an optimist to her core, despite plenty of reasons to have a negative outlook on life in general she consistently makes choices that uplift others. She's a hard worker and a spectacular friend to have. Unfortunately life just can't seem to stop throwing hurdles her way.

Rory is depressed and in a permanent pessimistic funk. After the loss of his girlfriend five years ago he escaped the UK and hadn't looked back since. That is until family calls him home to remind him what is most important, spending time with those you love before it's too late. He's afraid to love again. Afraid to put himself in the position to lose anyone else.

When Belle and Rory run into one another unexpectedly the last thing either of them expects is to ignite a fast friendship that will help heal both their broken pieces. Surely an old acquaintance from university can't lead to lasting happiness and a solid foundation for a relationship neither of them is looking for? Follow along this journey of healing, growth, and sexual tension while Belle endeavors to bring the magic of Christmas back to Rory.

Two people, one month to fall in love, and the past between them. Belle Wilde loves Christmas and Shakespeare. She’s the daughter of a famous person, yet her entire life she has been seen as a disappointment to her father. Belle loses her job and comes home for Christmas. Rory Walters hates Christmas, and is still grieving the death of his wife. Belle and Rory went to school together and were semi-friends but now reunited years later, they find themselves starting anew again. Belle challenges Rory to fall for the Christmas spirit while Rory wants to help Belle’s play production come true. Together they navigate family situations, growing feelings, and the Christmas holiday. The story is told in alternating POVs between Rory and Belle. It’s definitely a hallmark-esque holiday read and would work really well for anyone just looking for a holiday-esque romance read. Sadly for me it just didn’t work that well and the ending concluded way to fast. The resolution between the major problems didn’t work for me as well. However, definitely give this romance read a try! Maybe it’ll be the perfect romance read for you!
