This is a delightful book telling what it would be like to live during Jane Austen’s time. It helped me find greater understand to Jane’s work. I highly recommend this great guide!

Sadly this was a good idea poorly executed. The premise was good, and I've read books on this vein before like a visitor's guide to ancient Rome etc, but where this book falls down is it's easier dull. There's no humour in it, it is told very much like a modern day city guidebook, which would be fine if not for the fact the author doesn't consider the reader, so where they quote old money, there's no exchange rate so you can see what the modern day equivalent would be. It's a shame as the author seems to have some some research, albeit there's not a great lot of detail in it, but this could all be forgiven if the execution was different
