Bear discovers a great find in the people town and wants to bring it home to the woods but his friends are all sleeping and won’t help him. So Bear uses ingenuity and persistence to solve problems and get his “thingity-jig” home. This is a sweet story of determination and independence. And most certainly this story is about not giving up. The illustrations are lovely and this is a fun read!

This was an adorable children’s picture book! I think it would be an especially fun book to read out loud to a kid because of all the fun words - young kids would probably get a kick out of this and also have fun reading it themselves.

I really liked the artwork and thought it reflected the story really well! It was both cute and beautiful! I loved the detailed backgrounds.

I think I would have liked a little bit more development from the characters and themes, but since it is a picture book that didn’t bother me too much.

The art style in this children’s book is absolutely adorable and was super enjoyable for me so I know that kids will adore it.

The overall story was a lot of fun but I do wish we got to see more of a consequence for how selfish the Bear’s friends were. It never got addressed and it seems like a wasted opportunity to teach kids about that.

But overall, this was adorable and a ton of fun and I can’t wait for kids to get their hands on it!

I think this book meant well, but I was nota fan of the nonsense words. Younger children may like it, but it was not as good as I was hoping for based on the description.

A bear is all alone at night and finds a thingity-jig, which is a couch. He begins to wake up all of his friends to talk about and them excited to see this cool thing that he found. The illustration is what makes the book. The blue hues makes you feel like you are in the night, right with the bear. This would be a great book for a classroom or to read to your child before bedtime.

Bear is not sleepy and decides to travel to people town. He quickly finds a strange object (couch) and wants to bring it home. He races back to woods and tries to enlist his friends to help him bring it home. They are sleepy and will wait until morning. Bear goes back and invents several machines to help him bring the "thingity-jig" home to the forest. Bear's creativity helps him finally get it home and enjoys a nap on the couch in the end.

This is a charming book that teachers could use in the classroom as a STEM read aloud. The students could then create a contraption to move something. The illustrations are very detailed and add to the story. I highly recommend this book for any classroom teacher!
