Priscilla is a go to author for me. I love how family oriented the stories are while also touching on some delicate subjects without getting too serious. The flare in the MC makes for a great read and i love the added food parts!

Unfortunately I could not get in to this one. I think my reading tastes are changing. I will update my review if I try and read again.

A fun, easy read. The stories follow a set of best friends, but don’t actually interconnect, so they are an easy read in short bursts. Perfect for fans of hot summer reads.

Night at the Museum

The best tour ever. Vic Albright ends up locked up with art connoisseur Ria Preston. It's a long time to take a tour and finish getting to know each other.

If I ever got locked in any art gallery, I would hope it would be with a man like Vic.

ESP

El mejor tour de la vida. Vic Albright termina encerrado con una conocedora del arte Ria Preston. Es un largo tiempo para dar un recorrido y terminar de conocerse.

Primera historia de Summer in the City.

Lights Out

What could hurt Mateo Garza the most is that a person will leave his seat to walk out of his play. But there is something even worse and that is if his critic, Vanessa Rios, does it after a blackout.

Mateo will do whatever it takes for Vanessa to recognize the beauty that a soul can have when it is listened to from the bottom of its heart.

Admired with the talent of Pris.

ESP

Mind Games
Do you remember your crush from school? Well, Alison has never forgotten him and her revenge will take action once she can ruin Nick's life as much as she ruined his illusions.
But things don't go as planned and life gives them a second chance.

It's so much fun and so beautiful, watching two souls reunite for one more adventure.

ESP

At this time, as I am guessing is obvious by the publication date that was literally years ago, I have decided not to review this title.

Technically, I made this decision a while ago, but was not as prompt with sending feedback as I should have been. My apologies for the delay, as well as clogging up your inbox with this very late review response.

As always, while incredibly late, I thank you for the opportunity to read and review one of your titles.

Fun novellas! I’d only read Priscilla’s books before but I definitely enjoyed all three stories and can’t wait to read more from all the authors!

This was a great novella! I was very interested because Priscilla Oliveras is an auto buy author for me. I normally am not into novellas but this was a great one! The other authors were great too!

I love the summertime and stories set in the summertime so I was very excited to come across this anthology collection.
Premise
Each connected novella in this fun, fresh Rom-Com anthology follows a different woman from a group of NYC friends whose plans to escape the summer heat with a fabulous girls-only weekend suddenly lose steam when an unexpected blackout cuts off power to all of Manhattan. But while the lights are out, enemies become lovers, acquaintances find they have more in common than a pack of matches, and the city really heats up!
These were really cute stories and I really love how they all tied in together and each section focused on a separate girl all during an unexpected power outage in NYC! I also love NYC as a back crop for pretty much any book I read so I was thrilled to be able to dive into this one!

This book was a great compilation of three novellas by some of my favorite authors highly recommended.

I expected to love this one, but it was a little bit disappointing. The concept is fun, three stories about three friends all on the same night, but some of the stories were kind of boring. Ria's story in particular was hard to fight through. I LOVED Alison's though.

Great bundle of novellas! Each story is one of three friends when trapped with their would-be love during a city wide power outage. You laugh, shake your head and cheer each character on. I love the different writing styles from the authors while still flowing together to create the perfect summer read!

This is a fun collection of three novellas that follows a group of three friends during a city-wide blackout in New York City. While each novella stands alone, it was nice having that thread running through the three stories. As a whole, I rated this four stars - it's a really fun and quick summer read. My thoughts on each story are below.

Night at the Museum (Lori Wilde): This was my least favorite of the bunch - I'd give it three stars. Romance novellas have a reputation for being all insta-love and no substance, and this fits that bill. It was a cute story about Ria and Vic who have been bumping into each other around the city for months but haven't spoken until the night of the blackout when Vic is at the museum gala where Ria works as a conservator. They're trapped in her office when the power goes out and you can guess what happens next.

Lights Out (Priscilla Oliveras): 4 stars. This was a really sweet second chance romance between Vanessa and Mateo who are old high school frenemies that reconnect when she is sent as a cultural reviewer on the opening night of Mateo's splashy new musical. Vanessa gets injured in the chaos of the blackout and Mateo carries her back to his apartment where they hash out old baggage and reconnect. Content warning: infidelity (not MC)

Mind Games (Sarah Skilton): 5 stars. This was such a unique premise! Alison is hell-bent on exacting revenge against her college boyfriend, Nick, at his debut NYC magic show. When she shows up, he gets super flustered and has to quickly get things back under control. What worked best about this is the author dedicated a bit of real estate to telling the story of their past together, so you really felt invested when they reconnected. Content warning: death of parent

Thanks to the authors, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for the early version. All opinions are my own!

Three shorter stories based in New York City and a trio of girl friends who all rind summer love. Lori Wilde has story 1, Night at the Museum about Ria who restores art work and Vic, an iinvestment counselor. Lights Out by Priscilla Oliveras is Vanessa and Mateo's story with Vanessa a theater critic and Mateo and actor. Mind Games by Sarah Skilton is the 3rd story with Allison and Nick. Old friends from college, Allison is determined to stop Nick from having a successful magic show. All three stories are quick reads with cross over encounters. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I really enjoyed this anthology. Its the perfect book for the upcoming summer, somewhere on the beach with a cocktail in hand, toes in the sand and head in the clouds, daydreaming about romance and love and all those warm and fuzzy feelings.
I loved how each author brought a unique, fun and sexy story while blending the novellas with each other so well. All three novellas got me in my romantic feels. Highly recommend!

This was steamy! It was like settling in to read an episode of Sex and the City! When the lights go out during a citywide blackout, the heat in each novella goes up!

This get steamy when high school theater rivals Vanessa Rios and Mateo Graza are forced to spend the night together in his New York apartment during a blackout. Will these rivals finally be able to put their competition to bed or will Vanessa have more scathing reviews for Broadway star Mateo?

••

After a bad experience back in college Alison is determined to get her revenge on Nick and what better time than at his first magic show? However things take an interesting turn when the lights go out, a whole other type of magic begins to happen.

••

I absolutely loved these three cute little novellas, they were the perfect amount of steam and swoon for a quick afternoon reading escape!

I had only previously read a book written by Priscilla Oliveras before, but after reading these three novelas, both Sarah Skilton and Lori Wilde are now on my radar! I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the entire book.

Instalove is a trope that I'm not the biggest fan of and unfortunately the first novella really wasn't my cup of tea however, I loved the last two novellas and would have loved to read more from them!

Summer in the City is a great collection of three novellas that make for a great summer read! Read one at a time or the whole book! Three best friends - Ria, Vanessa and Alison - are all ready for a girls' weekend when all of a sudden the lights go out in New York City! The city comes alive with what happens when everyone has to endure the same experience but in very different ways. I really liked all three stories. There is something for everyone in this book!
