With engaging text and large, interest-grabbing photos, this book introduces readers to four types of germs—bacteria, Protozoa,, fungi, and viruses. The written text and the photos work seamlessly together. A wonderful resource for science programs or for independent reading.

This is a great nonfiction. It is straightforward with great photographic images of "germs". I could see this being a popular book for teachers or parents to discuss germs with children.

I loved this title! The pictures are the stars here - great showcase of what modern microscopes can do. The text is appropriate for middle elementary students, and focuses more on disease than books like "don't lick this book" but still such an interesting resource!

This is a wonderful book for younger kids to get acquainted with all those microscopic creatures that can't be seen with the naked eye: viruses, bacteria, protozoa and fungi.

The information about each is comprehensive, right up to pronunciation guides to visual recognition clues. The accompanying illustrations are wonderful in their clarity and scope. I might be the only weirdo who actually looked at all those images of creepy organisms and went "How cute!!" But that's how adorable the pictures were! :D A perfect complement to the information provided.

The information is presented in as simple a manner as possible for such a topic. but of course, in spite of its being a simple hardbound picture book, I doubt much of the information will be understandable to really young readers. Slightly older children, however, could find this fascinating.

I'm giving this book 4 stars only because of the age-content mismatch. By itself, the book content and illustrations well deserve a 5 star rating.

This picture book is packed full of information on germs and how each one can make us sick, as well as information on how to stay well. It's a timely book that even includes coronavirus. The super up-close pictures of the germs are pretty cool. I appreciate each germ having a pronunciation guide. I feel like this book is better suited to older children, with its descriptions of how each germ can affect our bodies and the amount of information it gives.
