This is my favorite Megan Miranda book to date. I loved the dynamic between all the neighbors, the slow unveiling of secrets and the building suspense throughout. There are a lot of books out there revolving around the inner working and dark secrets of a seemingly perfect neighborhood. This is one of the better version of that story IMO.

Megan Miranda is easily becoming one of my favorite authors. Such a Quiet Place asks the question how well do you know your neighbors and maybe you shouldn’t rush to pass judgment on something or someone, because things are not always what they seem. I have been a fan of Megan Miranda's writing for a while now and this book did NOT disappoint. This book gripped me from the beginning and I knew without a doubt I was going to enjoy this book. And I was not wrong! I finished this book easily in a day because I did not want to put it down. The mystery had he hooked from the beginning and pulled me happily along until the end. I will continue to be a fan of Megan Miranda and her writing. She knows how to write a thriller!

Megan Miranda always writes block busters, and I believe this will be no exception. She does an excellent job of fleshing out all the nuances between female characters and female relationships. She isn't my favorite author, and this wasn't my favorite book of hers, but I imagine it will be a big hit like all of her previous novels.

Megan Miranda writes novels you simply cannot put down and Such a Quiet Place is the perfect example of that! This novel had me riveted the entire way through! I love when thrillers have you creating conspiracy theories even when your not reading—I was daydreaming about this novel throughout my day! Megan Miranda is a master a finding the perfect spots to drop jaw-dropping twists and turns—love that! If you’re searching for the perfect beach read than I highly recommend this 5 star thriller! As per usual, I am already excited to see what Megan Miranda comes out with next!

Another great mystery from Megan Miranda. In the small neighborhood of Hollows Edge, where everyone knows everyone and no ones personal life is personal. Ruby Fletcher is back and has everyone wondering why. Ruby was convicted of murdering the Truetts and has been in prison for the past 14 months. She was released based on faulty investigations. But did she really do it? If so, why is she back? And if not, then who did it? What I loved about this one is that the ending is not one you would expect. Without giving it away, all I can say is that sometimes we see only what we want to see. And that for every judgement you make about someone, a judgment can’t easily be made about you. This one will have you interested to the end. Perfect for a good summer read!,

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Ruby was charged with the murder of Brandon and Fiona. Many years later Ruby's conviction gets overturned and she returns to the small town. With the list of suspects growing, it will be up to Ruby's roommate Harper to try and make sense of everything. This book grabbed my attention from the start.

I had high hopes for this novel after reading a few of this author’s other pieces of work and this did not disappoint. In fact, I think it’s my favorite so far.

Perhaps at the beginning, it felt a bit slow, but I never felt bored. If anything it just made me more anxious and excited for the rest of this book since it set a great stage for all that would happen. Even more, I liked getting to know all the characters, especially since it was easy to see that almost everyone had a secret to hide.

Many times when reading a mystery/thriller they become predictable, but this was not. Every time I thought something seemed obvious or that I had managed to figure something out I soon realized I had been tricked or was wrong. This is a book that keeps you on your toes and delivers an ending you don’t expect. If you are looking for a book with a great story, great characters, and a book that will keep you guessing and eager to read then this book is for you!

Megan Miranda flawlessly tells a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book is impossible to put down. A quick read with an ending that will leave your jaw dropped.

Megan Miranda is definitely a writer I always look forward to reading. The Girl from Widow Hills was one of my favorite reads last year, and when I saw Such a Quiet Place was approved in my queue, I was excited to dive in.

Fourteen months ago, Ruby was convicted of murdering her neighbors. The community of Hollow's Edge believed her to be guilty, testified against her, and went on living their lives thinking the danger had passed. But when new evidence comes to light and Ruby is let out of jail to return to Hollow's Edge, her old roommate Harper is determined to figure out the truth. Is Ruby guilty? And why did she come back?

I liked this book.

In a genre full of torrid affairs and intricate, twisty relationship dramas, I loved the focus on a community of young professionals. Thirty is quickly becoming the new twenty, and it was refreshing to see a cast of characters in that age range that aren't completely consumed by marriage, infidelity, parent issues, or family problems.

Harper, as a protagonist, was an okay lead character for me. I didn't find her terribly interesting, but her voice was clear, defined, and easily readable--a fact I think other readers will enjoy. Through their interactions, Ruby struck me as a wronged Daisy Buchanan type, aloof and sickly-sweet but with an ulterior motive. I was hoping for a little more development, something other than the past crime and Harper's suspicions when she returns. The mystery goes toward setting up the conflict in the second half of the book, but as it stood, she felt a little flat.

I think this was what kept SAQP from being a love it for me. Such a Quiet Place is character driven. The conflict, like the surface of Hollow's Edge, was quiet and polite. And while there were plenty of suspects, we weren't given much development beyond a few stereotypical depicters: troubled marriage, troubled kids, etc. Some of the names blend together, motivations all seemingly stemming from the same place, so that by the end, the climax felt a little predictable.

That's not to say this isn't a fun read. Miranda's taut storytelling is a highlight here, and I would definitely recommend to fans of light suspense and see this being a popular summer title this year.

Entertaining and delightfully wicked, Such a Quiet Place is a solid read I think many readers will enjoy. Out in July, add it to your TBRs.

Atmospheric, chilly slow-burn whodunnit mystery set in a small town. Delightful.

This book is about a double murder in a seemingly perfect and idyllic neighborhood where everything and everyone is peaceful and nice. But some time after the murder, the neighborhood has become a nightmare to live in, with the empty house of the murdered as a daily reminder of danger. Worse yet, Ruby, the woman the residents had implicated as a murdered, came back after her conviction was overturn. Now, she is determined to find out who implicated her - and the real killer needs to be found before they kill again.

I absolutely loved the setting of this book, which in my books puts it up for success. Next, the plot was a nice, cold slow burn, which was the perfect execution of this mystery - especially since the plot twists were completely unpredictable! Another hit were the main characters, with one exception; while this actually worked out well as a creep factor, I wish that the neighbors' characters were differentiated from each other more.

In a small, tight knit, quiet neighborhood some things rarely go unnoticed, just like when a suspected murderer returns to town. Ruby has just been released from prison after her murder conviction was overturned. She has the nerve to show back up at Harper's home, where she lived before being convicted of murdering their 2 neighbors while they slept. Sounds like nothing could go wrong, right?? Ohh but it does, it goes so so wrong.

Megan Miranda does it again with another thrilling, suspenseful read. The subject could literally be ripped from today's headlines which makes it even better. I read this book in one night, I loved it so much. It is a must read once released in July 2021!

This book was so different from the author's other titles, maybe because I couldn't find one character that I liked. I kept thinking how stupid and quite honestly, horrible, ALL these people were.
That said, it's a mystery, with a bit of voyeurism into the lives neighbors lead, and how we feel about those we live near. I loved the way they had the neighbor "board" where events and actions would be posted. You felt like you were within the community. It wasn't my favorite of the authors, but it was a satisfying read.

Megan Miranda’s “All The Missing Girls” is one of my favorite books ever, so I always read whatever she’s published. “Such a Quiet Place” was a slow burn, but I enjoyed trying to figure out who killed who throughout the book.

The only reason for four stars is that I thought there were too many minor characters. Most of them were necessary, but I feel like a few could have been cut out.

Needless to say, if you enjoy psychological thrillers and/or Miranda’s other books, I would highly recommend it.

This story brings up the question, how can you be sure someone is guilty and how well do you know your neighbors. If you live alone, you might want to read this one with the lights on and the doors locked.

Wow, this one takes curtain twitching to the next level. I mean, we all enjoy watching the coming’s and going’s of our neighbors sometimes. It’s a real life mystery, a story you can make up yourself. But what happens when you’re all wary and suspicious of each other?

This. This thriller is what happens.

Okay, maybe not to the letter lol, but it’s easy to imagine the cloud of mystery that would blanket an intimate community. I live on a cul-de-sac, am very close with all of my neighbors, and can just picture all of the ways something like what happened in this thriller, would seep into everything.

I have read every single thing by Megan Miranda and loved every word she’s written. This was good, a little slow to start, but good. I will say, it wasn’t my ultimate favorite, but I would still recommend it.

When I got approved to read Megan Miranda’s new novel early, I cried tears of joy. Her stories always consist of twist and turns with surprise endings, and this one did not disappoint!
Such a Quiet Place is about a quiet neighborhood near the lake and a local college. The neighborhood gave me “Desperate Housewives” vibes where every neighbor knew everyone and their secrets. The “safe” neighborhood quickly changed after the death of a couple, with one of the neighbors, Ruby, being convicted of their murder. After her guilty charge was overturned, Ruby comes back to the neighborhood and her roommate Harper, where everything started. The story comes from Harper’s point of view, should she be scared that Ruby is the killer? Or should she defend her former roommate to the rest of their neighbors and find the real killer?
Just like every Megan Miranda book, I crushed her new story in just two days. Her writing makes you turn the page quickly and cliffhangers at the end of the chapter makes you want to keep reading late into the night. She did a great job of developing all of the characters, never leaving me feel confused on who’s who in the neighborhood. If you liked One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus, then you will love this book because it shares the same suspicion of who among us is not telling the truth.
Such A Quiet Place is set to be released July 13th, and this is a perfect summer read. The setting is set by the lake and near the neighborhood pool, and I can picture myself re reading this by my own pool this summer. 4.5 out of 5 stars and definitely add it to your summer reading list!

This was my first read from Megan Miranda, though i had heard of her via Reese Witherspoon's Book Club. This book follows the neighbors of Hollow's Edge a small community who experienced a tragedy. Young Ruby is released from jail after being accused of a murder that occurred in the Hollow's Edge neighborhood. Ruby comes back to live with Harper, acting like nothing ever happened. Harper knows something isn't right and becomes consumed learning about the whereabouts of Ruby and what she is hiding. By doing this, she realizes her neighbors are all hiding their own secrets. The writing keeps you guessing all the way to the last few pages! Great drama/thriller!
