I’m going to preface this review by saying that I haven’t read the first book in this series, and maybe if I had I would have liked it more than I did. I didn’t want to DNF so I pushed through but there were times that I wish I had and there were times that I skimmed just so I could get finished. To be fair, there were also times that I had a genuine chuckle at some of the lines.
The characters had a huge age difference, which might not be a big deal in most instances, but in this case, Godric was rude and inappropriate with some of the comments he made about Eva and some of the scenes (especially some of the more graphic ones) were hard to read. To be fair again, there were some good plot points throughout, but I feel like they kind of got lost along along the way. I don’t think I’ll continue this series nor pick up the first one in order to see if it helps me like this one more.

Second book in the series. It was a bit difficult to get into the story at the beginning. Eva was so spoiled. There is a lot of angsts and tribulations in this book. Their story was never going to be boring. But it was a nice ride.

I wish I could put a finger on what it is about this book that didn’t sit right with me. The road trip hijinks were fun and kept things interesting. The large age difference between the main characters didn’t bother me like I expected. I think it maybe was the lack of spark between Eva and Godric. I understand she’s stunningly beautiful, but she behaved like such a brat the whole time that I didn’t understand his interest in her past the physical. And he kept blowing hot and cold, being a rake and not, that I couldn’t really keep up with him. So with all that, the story didn’t flow well for me at all.

I love Minerva Spencer’s books, under all of her pen names, and am looking forward to the next in this series despite the fact that Outrageous didn’t do much for me.

Having read the 1st book in the series, I wondered how they would redeem Lord Visel. I will say that I did enjoy the story. I liked to change that I saw occur with Godrick. I think that he and Eva were equally matched. I felt their connection and how they worked together during the escapades.

I love historical romances so I was very excited to read this one this month! I knew it was part of a series so I picked up the first in the series on KindleUnlimited and unfortunately DNF'd that one due to several reasons. I had hopes that this second one would be better but unfortunately I am going to have to stop reading it as well.

I think probably what has not worked for me in this series are the characters. I have not enjoyed any of them. For example, Lord Visal in this one was just not particularly romantic to me. In particular, the way he sees Eva as a child just bothered me too much to keep reading.

I wish I liked this series more as I had high hopes for it. I think the ideas behind the books are really good, I just wish there were characters and romances I felt I could actually root for. So far both romances have just felt icky to me.

I loved Eva and Godric’s story! While the first few chapters were a bit hard to follow, the author made both unlovable characters easy to root for. I think that reading prior books in the series was definitely helpful. 5 stars.

This book is the second in a series, but you do not have to read the first to read this one.

Godric is the villain of book one, and Eva is the hero's sister from book one. Eva kidnaps Godric to save her brother and his wife from Godric's evil machinations. They end up on a journey where they battle wits and hijinks ensue.

This book was delightful. I loved the characters; they broke the mold of typical hero/heroine personalities. Eva is viewed as mad within the ton because of her deceased mother's behavior. While Godric is the heir to a duke and a catch, he has personal demons and can't shake his obsession for revenge with Eva's brother. These imperfect people find each other and fall in love despite battling it. The end was charming and perfect for this couple - I might have read it more than once! Also, Spencer writes really steamy love scenes, and this book does not disappoint.

Also, it took me a minute to realize that Eva is the child of Adam and Mia from Minerva's first book, Dangerous. Minerva Spencer's books constantly surprise me. They are always wildly different, and you never know what you are going to get. I can't recommend her books enough!

Minerva (in all her pennames) is an auto-buy for me - I simply love her storytelling and voice and the sexy and emotional stories she writes. OUTRAGEOUS is no different.

Godric - the villain of the previous story - has realized the error of his ways but Eva doesn't realized that. So, this vulnerable young woman kidnaps him to keep him from harming her stepbrother and friends. In the course of that kidnapping -- one filled with missteps, plans gone awry and a growing attraction-- Godric understands that they will have to marry but begins to believe that marrying this intrepid, innocent, bright woman might be the best thing that happened to him.

Sexy, with lots of angst and attraction, OUTRAGEOUS is a wonderful historical story.

When I started the book, I thought it was a bit too much of an info dump in the beginning. This book is very connected to the first book in the series, which I have not read. I understand that the reader who did not read the first need a catch up of the story from the first, but I thought it could have been a bit better done. The story began in medias res and thus a quick catch up was needed. I thought it would have been better to have slower start so a large info dump of the first book would not have been needed. I thought this could have been better written, but with that said I still really liked this book.

I thought the synopsis really sounded like something I would like, and I was not disappointed. It was a steamy read with the enemies to lovers’ trope. It was an eventful read with a good amount of steaminess and I really liked the couple. I really liked their chemistry and had a really good time reading this.

I would recommend this book who like the tropes, steaminess, but also an eventful read takes us on adventures around the English countryside.

I have not read the previous books, but I think that I would not have liked the main male character there. I have read the blue for the next book of the series and it seems that the author is concentrating on characters that have not been very good to people in the past. Often we see MC that are just good people. There are defiantly people like that in the real wold but they are probably not as abundant as some books may have us thinking, but yet romance books also represent an ideal. So, presenting flawed characters that have done bad things in the past does not mean they cannot evolve for the better. This is very interesting to see especially in the character is a woman. So I am looking forward too the next book.

One of the aspects of this book that I thought a lot is the the view on madness and how society a the time had formed an understanding of it. These are the type off views that have been passed down and are still present today.

If you haven’t read the first book in this series, Notorious, there is quite a bit of back story that is not fully explained. We know that Godric has an unreasonable hatred for Eva’s brother and is planning some more dishonorable actions against the brother’s wife. But then Eva and her groom step in and kidnap godric. Of course, this leads to Eva and Godric fighting and falling for each other.

I just couldn’t warm up to either character. Godric seems like a great guy in this book, but there are all the references to what a dishonorable cad he has been in his recent past. Granted that he suffered terrible losses, but that’s no reason to plan revenge on two people who had nothing to do with his losses. And Eva is so very immature. Godric thinks her behavior is alternately immature and adorable. I lean toward the former.

I just devoured Minerva Spencer’s Outrageous, book two in her Rebels of the Ton series. Eva and Godric were so fun and absolutely crackled with chemistry right from the first pages. Eva kidnaps Godric right from a high society ball in Ton, not thinking of anything other than protecting her brother and sister-in-law from Godric's harassment and threats. She was so focused on her goals she didn’t fully think through the repercussions of being alone with a man traveling through the countryside. As they head toward the Scottish border, Godric flips the script on her and Evie soon realizes they may be forced to wed to save both of their reputations.

This book checks all my boxes for historical romance – hitting on some of my favorite tropes, fabulous chemistry, great dialogue, and a lot of action and hijinx in the plot. From single bed to fake engagements to one room at the inn, enemies to lovers – this book hits them all.

So many of the side characters are just as compelling as Eva and Godric – I absolutely loved James, and even the brief appearances of Mia, Gabriel, and Eva’s father are well developed and riveting on the page.

I absolutely loved this book and am so excited to see what Minerva Spencer does in book three (out next year). Outrageous arrives on June 29. A huge thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of another favorite read of the year.

What a refreshing surprise this book is! It was everything I was hoping for and more! You can't help but laugh at points and it has plenty of sizzling scenes. I can't wait for next book in series.

Wow in a matter of a few days, this is the second book by the author I have read.
Even if the other one was under a different pen name. So I has to check a bit the last book to remind myself what this one would be about.
And there is nothing I love than the redeeming of the villain (by the way Elisa Braden wrote some awesome stories).
And while Godric has been much misguided in his actions, he has every reason to have lost his senses and sanity, what he lived through could have render many person insensible.
He is a war hero but the wounds of his past changed him, bitter he has sought revenge in a mean way until he is stopped by a slip of a girl.
Eva bears the sins of her mother, or her known madness tattooed to her skin, as if she too will turn wild at any moment. Yet for her loved ones, she will do anything, like organizing an ill-advised kidnapping in retaliation of Godric own unwise plan. She is young so at time quite childish, enough to throw a tantrum when things do not go her way.
Thus how they end up in this mad dash into the countryside and under its harsh weather.

They are in for quite an adventure, between carriage accident, flooded roads, highwaymen. During their close proximity, their tempers flares, their wits clash , their chemistry collides. While Godric has to revisit his errors and his raw wounds, Eva must grow a bit as with a man twice her age, she must learn to act more like a reasoning being and less a bratty hoyden, she will have to decide what is worth or not.
Both are much flawed, they speak out of turn, hurt the other all the while learning there is more than their past deeds and appearance. But can their difference in age and scars be eased with a new love or will it keep them apart.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 onscreen lovemaking scenes.

I have been granted an advance copy by the publisher Kensington Books, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

The premise is very intriguing and the writing style is actually good and made the reading experience light and enjoyable. However, I did not feel anything between the main characters. As individuals, they have a bit of uniqueness and flavor that makes me enjoy reading from their point of view, especially to that of Eva's. But as a couple, there really is no chemistry at all. In my opinion, they could be good friends or a partner in crime type of friend. I just wished there's more chemistry between the two.

This book had me very conflicted. On one hand I almost put the book down on multiple occasions, I'm still not entirely sure why I decided to finish it, but I think it was just that the writing was good. The main reason I felt so uncomfortable and wanted to put it down was that Godric kept referring to Eva as an infant or a child within seconds of having or before having a sexual thought. Also, we are just supposed to believe that he literally had an epiphany on the way to kidnap Dru that what he was doing was wrong.

The plot was interesting I guess, the writing was good, and I really did like Eva's character in the first book of the series and wanted to see how things panned out for her. The ending did seem a bit rushed to be honest though, I wished there was more there. I don't really think I'll be reading the third book in the series if I'm honest, the first two were a bit disappointing.

Outrageous was not for me. I couldn't stand Eva and Godric. Eva for being so annoying and thinking she knew it all at the age of 19. I don't like how she behaved and the comments she made. She thought herself smart enough to outsmart Godric, but she ended up being trapped to be married. Her behavior was a little to childish and made decisions that endangered her and Godric's life. ( This is were I stopped reading. They are being robbed and after Godric tells her to be quiet, she just was making matters worse.) Also, boy did she like to argue with him. I understand that she's did all that she did to protect her brother, but she should of planned it better.
Godric was an okay hero. He has a tragic past but what drove me crazy were the constant thoughts and comments that Eva was a child, an innocent and that he was too old for her. I understand there's an age gap between them of 17 years but between Eva's childish behavior and his constant thoughts that she's too young and innocent I got annoyed and didn't really care for their romance.
I don't like to DNF books but I just couldn't continue with this story.

I’m new to Minerva Spencer’s books and enjoyed the series prior to this one. However I have to admit I did not enjoy this book as much as the last one in the series. There are a lot of inconsistencies with the main characters personalities. I found it hard to wrap my head around a lot of the decisions the characters made. That being said, I read the whole thing on a rainy Saturday with no complaints

If you’ve devoured Bridgerton and want more than this is definitely for you. Spend more in the regency era and become addicted to a whole new set of characters.

Another day another historical romance.

First of all, this is literally the prettiest cover! It made me very excited to read it.

This book lived up to its name. Right away we can tell this is outrageous when Eva kidnaps Godric. You know this is not going to be your average historical romance.

Eva was such a badass and I loved how she didn't care what anyone thought. But Godric was still able to push her buttons. They had this amazing chemistry right away. Godric was the usual male lead who didn't want to be in love (or didn't think he could be in love) but was just in denial. You could tell how he acted that he was in love with Eva, but wouldn't admit it. I wish they would communicate more.

Man, this was SPICY. I was here for it. Don't read this in public.

Overall, I give this 4/5 stars!
