This was such a great adventure book for my nephews! They love crafts so it was right up their alley. We love to spend time outside so doing these activities are such a fun and great for bonding. I would purchase these for my friends' kids for birthdays and Christmas gifts.

This is the cutest adventure book for kids! I requested it early and then purchased it so we had our own. My stepdaughter and I love to go on adventures and this has kept our creative juices flowing! It teaches you how to build a variety of objects, and it’s been fun hunting them down together.

If your kids love to be outside, this is the book for you and your family!

This is an excellent book for children to explore nature and participate in interactive, hands-on activities. It’s a great resource to encourage children to have time away from technology for a while. Thank you to Net Galleyand DK Children for the Advanced Reader’s copy.

I was interested in this book from the moment I saw it!

As a homeschool family, we use DK books as our primary “spines”. They are an amazing resource and they way that they are laid out works really well for us.

This past year, we used a curriculum called Blossom and Root Nature Study and I feel like this book would have been an excellent companion.

The colorful photos and easy instructions make this an easy buy for us. My only complaint is I wish the book was a little bit longer.

Another great book from DK! This book has so many great ideas for getting outside and into nature with kids. This would be an amazing supplement to your nature lessons and something to incorporate all year round. The craft ideas are creative but fairly easy and fun. We have already started making stick wind chimes. I’ll definitely be purchasing a copy for our family as well as our homeschool coop library!

I have a preschool age child and love the outdoors, so I was really excited about this book. I think that overall the book delivers on giving you ideas to engage with nature while outside with your child. I liked the direction that the book gave on different crafts you can do outside. Some of the ones I liked especially were the journey stick, the weaving, and the stick wind chimes. I think the instructions were well crafted, and even though the idea is basic, its something that I haven't thought to do before. Some of the sensory ideas were interesting, but some seemed like a stretch to do with a child. Like having them "explore how a tree feels blindfolded" or filling containers with different smells like roses, mint, herbs, or grass. It could be good, but would have to be in the right situation.

One of the things I do wish the book had was a little more information about nature to teach your kids. It did have some minimal information, like different cloud types, but the information was sparse, and I think it would have been great if it followed it up with questions to discuss.

Overall, I found this book to be a good resource and have planned multiple activities to do from it.

This book sounded really good, but I was unable to open the file. I was trying to mark that I would not give feedback for this book, but that option did not come up.

In the time honored tradition of DK Books, this intricately illustrated learning tool incorporates family involvement into learning about the outdoors wherever a child might live. There are ideas that are adaptable and yet reminiscent of the sort of thing that we did with our own children in the 1970s. All you need is a backyard or a park to learn about nature and more without causing any sort of harm to anyone or anything all while having a grand time! Great for kids of all ages!
I requested and received a temporary digital ARC of this book from DK, a division of Penguin Random House, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

Thanks, NetGalley and DK, for the ARC of this book.

We read this book in our homeschool.
It has 40 different outdoor/nature-inspired activities. My son was very excited about the cool facts they learned on each page. The illustrations are very colorful and engaging.
I highly recommend this book for children 5 and up. Teachers can use this book in their classrooms too. I will definitely buy this book when it's available in physical format.

So engaging and wonderfully illustrated!
Many of earth’s most innovative inventions were inspired by nature - and what a great way to learn of them all with “Invented by Animals’! There is really no page where I didn’t learn a new fact - so I can only imagine all the facts and information to be discovered by a child! The illustrations are delightful and each page is dedicated to a different animal or insect.
This title is an excellent addition to any home or school library, and sure to be a fast favorite.

I requested and received an advance readers copy from Quarto Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you so much!

The Nature Adventure Book is an activity book with one goal in mind: getting kids outside and interested in nature. With over 40 practical activities offering a variety of skills and objectives, this book can be used in the backyard, at a local park, on a family camping trip, and anywhere in between.

The Nature Adventure Book is an adorable and fun guide for outdoor adventures. Some of the activities teach useful skills, such as building a small shelter or raft, while other activities are crafty or just involve appreciating nature. The book is colorful and eye-catching, and each activity includes easy to follow step-by-step instructions. With a suggested age range of 5-7 years old, I will definitely keep this book in mind for when my daughter is a little older.....though I may hand off the bug hotel idea to her dad.

Thanks to Netgalley and DK for this ARC; this is my honest and voluntary review.

A great book that encourages young people to get out and explore nature with all of their senses. There are a lot of easy ideas, that require little to no equipment to create art and more. The authors encourage scientific observation for even small explorers.

Due to the set-up of the book, it is good for independent readers in 2nd-5th grades. I can see many parents picking this up to encourage outdoor play for younger kids. The photos are diverse including children of different races and abilities.

I love books that spur kids to connect nature, play, and science and believe this is a strong addition to non-fiction library collections.

A gorgeously illustrated of various outdoor activities you can do to fully enjoy nature with your kids - I'm definitely going to try some of these the next time I'm outside with my baby nieces (especially the "adventure stick" - though I'll need to keep an eye on them so they don't pick up anything prickly or poisonous!). This book also features plenty of fun facts about the great outdoors. Definitely recommend for parents and kids everywhere, whether you live in the country or the city.
