I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A good romance. If you like Hallmark type stories you might want to try it out.

A quick, predictable read. Nothing earth-shaking, but not the worst romance I've ever read either. The drama wasn't very dramatic and the resolution was very quick and easy.

Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book. Wishing for a Cowboy is a story about scarifies and love. Janine is the best aunt/ mom in taking care of her nephew. They go to meet his dad, Aidan, who has no knowledge of Will and they learn to navigate through this new knowledge. I thought Aidan was amazing after learning the news and was so good to both Will and Janine. I really liked how they brought out the best in each other and their main concern was with Will’s welfare.

This is a Cowboy Romance, and this is the 3rd book in the Wishing River series. I have to say this book pulled me into the story from the first page, and I did not want to put it down. This was everything I want in a romance. I love that each of the characters as secrets that comes out. The characters where so great, and the two main characters need each other to find their whole shelf. The book was well written. This book is a family that took 15 years to find each other, and they are now trying to live with each other. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Entangled: Amara) or author (Victoria James) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Wishing for a Cowboy by Victoria James is a heartwarming story of sacrifice and love. Janie has raised her nephew since she was 18 years old and has made Will her first priority. Now she’s slowly making her dreams a reality of becoming a veterinarian, but she needs some financial help and seeks out Will’s father in Wishing River, Montana. Janie and Will blindside Aiden Rivers when they step into his bar one night and change his life forever. Seeing a younger version of himself staring back at him, Aiden realizes he is a father to a 15-year-old son he never knew he had. How the three of them make this work made for a heartfelt romance with the making of a family.

Both Janie and Aiden had hard childhoods with parents that either ignored them or in Aiden’s case was abusive. It’s hard to ignore the scars a parent’s actions put on children and how as adults, it’s harder to put behind and ignore all the bad stuff. Both of them had a hard time accepting that they were good for the other individual. On the other hand, Aiden is just that kind of guy to be there for everyone else and puts others needs first before his own. He does it with Janie and Will throughout the story and I admire his focus to put his son first. Actually, I admire them both because they show with their actions how to love a child without conditions and do it selflessly.

Wishing for a Cowboy is the third book in the Wishing River series and had an engrossing storyline of family drama and a couple finding love at last. Janie and Aiden were good for each other because they found that one person who saw the goodness and worthiness they are inside. The author has a way of writing a touching story that deals with intricate family dynamics and eventual healing of difficult pasts. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to visiting Wishing River again.

Wishing for a Cowboy (Wishing River #3). By Victoria James. 2020. Entangled Amara (ARC eBook).

What I liked best in Wishing for a Cowboy was the scenes with Aiden and Will bonding as father and son. I also liked Aiden and Janie and thought they were a good match, but being people who will sacrifice for those they love. Both Aiden and Janie had insecurities to overcome but their old and newfound friends helped with that and their strong feelings for each other gave them the courage to create a family. This was my second book by James, the first being Cowboy for Hire which is the second installment for the Wishing River series. Overall, I’m enjoying the series and look forward to reading all of the books in the series.

I found this to be a heart wrenching read as both Aiden and Janie suffered emotional abuse (and physical abuse for Aiden) as children. While they had grown into successful adults, their emotional insecurities had me wanting to give them both a hug. However, the constant rehashing of their pasts got a bit tedious. I enjoyed reading about Will. I loved watching the father/son relationship develop. This slow burn romance was low on steam but high on emotions. An enjoyable read.

I tend to like Victoria James books, they are sweet and even though they do have some angst/issues they dont kill me. We have Janie who is a young mom at the age of 28 with a 15 year old, if that seems a little weird it is because Janie's sister ran off and Janie has been taking care of her nephew since he was 4, Wil is pretty much hers and she loves him and does everything for him and for Wil , he has a nonexistent mom, but you can say that Janie is that (I love these stories). Janie and Wil find themselves struggling financially and decide to get help from Wil's dad, even though they know he has never helped Wil and has never wanted him, but they have no other choice, well at least in this story. When they find Aiden, he is shocked, he never even knew he had a son and 15 years old at that, that shows Janie that she does not have the whole story and obviously Wil doesn't either since he didn't even know that his ex had sister. These three are trying to navigate there lives which wont be easy, with attitudes, past hurts, lost times and unwanted feelings. But just when they think it should be ok, it is isn't because surprise sis comes back...I hope I wetted your appetite so you can grab a copy and read.

A well written story about an aunt, who raises her nephew, seeking his father, who doesn't know his son exists, their efforts at maintaining a secure future for the boy while unexpectedly falling in love in the process. This story has it all: the adults' terrible childhood traumas, lies and deceptions, the trials of dealing with a teenager and the ups and downs of a blossoming romance. Ms. James is a talented writer who has created a wonderful story with well crafted characters. I was given an ARC of the book via NetGalley and have voluntarily chosen to write this review. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can heartily recommend it.

Finally a great romance book with a truly strong female lead who doesn't get so swept up in romance that her actions are questionable or upends her whole life just to be with someone. Janie is a young woman who is caring for her sister's son but finally needs to get financial help from the absent father of Will. She learns however that contrary to what she has been told, the father, Aiden, had no idea that he even had a son. Aiden immediately becomes fully involved as a dad as sparks start to fly between Janie and Aiden. But is a romance in the best interest for Will, or for any of them?

I recommend this as it has a great, believable plot with good characters and interactions. Perfect summer read.

4.5 Stars
This is book 3 in the Wishing River series and it features Janie and Aiden. Janie  was in extreme financial dire straits. She goes to Aiden for money with a surprise in tow. Aiden is living a quiet but busy life. Janie disrupts his quiet life in more ways than one.

This is a fantastic story line with awesome characters! The growth of the main characters was vast and felt very real for their circumstances.  I truly enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait for the next book in this fabulous series.

This was a cute story line ... I must admit, I had a hard time getting into it, but when I did I liked it.

A heartwarming story about finding family and love. An amazing heartbreaking story about two characters, very well developed with a troubled past. Both Aiden and Janie are very likable and it so good to see how their love developed and to see how they once and for all stand up for themself and make peace with the past. I love to see all the gang and this story is all about family and love.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Cute romance, a tinge of drama and hot cowboys. Victoria certainly knows what it takes to create yet another awesome story. After reading the Boyfriend contract, Victoria got me hooked. And after Cowboy For Hire, Victoria takes us back to wishing River where Aiden River is about to get the surprise of his life, when a cute woman introduces him to a fifteen year old spitting image of himself.
At eighteen, Aiden had a-rather toxic. relationship with Maxi, Janie's older sister. And apparently, Maxi didn't find it necessary to inform him about her pregnancy. Janie has been taking care of Will for years, since Maxi didn't feel up to the job. Three years younger then Maxi, Janie has been mothering will from her eighteenth. meaning that she didn't have time, or money, to be a regular student, enjoying the life.
But Janie loves Will like her own, so it never felt like a sacrifice to her. She is however, getting into more and more financial trouble and therefore she has tracked Will's father down to ask him for financial support. Although he never showed any interest in Will, Janie desperately needs his money.
When it becomes obvious that Aiden didn't know that Will even existed, Janie is shocked to see that Aiden is not only willing to pay, but he also wants to get to know his son. So Janie and Will decide to stay for a couple of weeks, so Will and Aiden can get familiar with each other. And they can try to figure out the future, for Will. Victoria shows us how Aiden struggles with coming to terms with the fact that he is a dad. Not having had the best role model, he is unsure of how to deal. And Janie also struggles. Having raised Will on her own, with nobody to rely on, she isn't used to sharing this burden and to have someone questioning her decisions. And since she is 'only' Will's aunt, will she still be able to care for Will or will his father claim him?
As always, Victoria shows us a story with many layers. Cute, wonderful and gripping. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is one of my favorite troupes - a father sharing their love for their child. This is a wonderful feel-good story.. The story was beautifully written, and the plot flowed nicely - another great story from Victoria!

I haven't read this author is a bit and I love single parent tropes so I was happy to see this title. This is a slow burn story but great friendship base from which the romance comes about. Lots of complicating factors: teenage boy, first kiss, small town gossip, meddling friends, old baggage interfering with the heart.

Great round up of the story. Loved all the characters.

Christmas, quilt shop, fireman, Marine — what
better ingredients for a satisfying love story?

Sophie runs a quilt shop with her sister in a small Kentucky town. Cole is a firefighter new to town. Its Christmas and the effervescent Sophie meets the reticent ex-Marine, Cole, and there is a strong attraction that she grasps with all her being and he resists with as much resistance as he can muster, afraid his PTSD will somehow hurt her.

This is a fun story — just as fun as the one last year from this author. If you love romance and Christmas stories this will not disappoint.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion

A sweet slow burn romance. Janie brings her nephew, Will, that she has raised to Montana to find his father and ask for financial help. Aiden is stunned to discover he has a teenage son and that his son has been lied to his whole life that Aiden abandoned him when he had no idea he existed.

The romance is squeaky clean so readers who do not enjoy steam will like this one. I do prefer some steam, so I enjoyed the story, yet kept waiting for more and that never happened. That aside, Aiden and Janie navigating a new normal while Aiden developed a relationship with Will was poignant and a great read.

Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via Netgalley.
