There’s not one P.D. Book that I have read and haven’t loved. How to Save a Life is another great book that Paola has written that ticks all the boxes of another awesome read. Riley and Jordan are so good together. The romance was written well, just the right pacing and just the right amount of angst.
Riley is someone I’d love to be friends with, and Jordan was her perfect match. I loved these two together. I devoured this book in a day. Paola is truly a superb storyteller. I cannot wait for her next book! Whatever she writes, I will read! (less)

I just love the stories PD writes. This was pretty heartbreaking, emotional, opposites attract, slow burn kinda story with the cutest toddler. Broody, standoffish, grieving Jordan needs help with raising a toddler and he wants Riley’s help. I LOOOVED Riley’s character, she’s so independent, has an amazing work ethic and falls for Jordan and Maisie, something she never really anticipated. I loved seeing Jordan’s POV, him opening up to Riley and his feelings for her😍 this was such a good story.

I really enjoyed How to Save a Life and am kicking myself for not having read it earlier. I liked the plot and the characters had good chemistry.
The ending of the book was rather abrupt in my opinion, but overall this was a really entertaining story.

I really enjoyed this book! It was classic P. Dangelico. The characters were wonderful and there was the perfect amount of angst.

This was a feel-good one that I would recommend to those who are looking for an employer-employee/friends to lovers book. Riley James was a little to "rough" for me at the beginning, and somehow softened out pretty quickly that felt rushed. Jordan West's change of character was also too rushed. It felt like I missed a few chapters for those changes?? It was still enjoyable, but not my favorite in this type.

This is a wonderful slow burn romanace and it hit the spot. I couldn't put it down and in all honesty I didn't want to put it down. I find it so hard to find a good romance book but this sure did deliver.

Jordan West has lived his life in the now until the carpet gets pulled out from under him and as the Godfather he has a toddler to look after. Problem? He doesn't really know how.

After getting to drunk in a restaurant, the waitress from that night saves his life. Well kind of. I liked Jordan and I was rooting for him to get his HEA.

Riley James has never given up on her hopes and dreams. After being saved from a childhood friend she feels like she owes him so she takes a job as a nanny. This is where things get interesting.

They couldn't be more different but they work until Jordan screws up but he does redeem himself.

I adore this book so much and we get a dual POV which is awesome. The author is a pick me up.

A true Cinderella story. Riley and Jordan's life couldn't be more apart, but their worlds collide. That changes the whole route of their lives. Riley is a loyal, strong woman who knows what she wants in life and is working hard for it. Jordan is a little hard on the edges, but when he loves someone the love is strong, loyal and I love that he can own his mistakes and will try to fix them. I loved the story and I truly enjoyed reading it.

I requested this book in Netgalley because of the interesting title and the beautiful cover however ended up loving reading it. 
Jordan West is struggling with the loss of his dear friend and suddenly is also the guardian of a baby. Loyal to the fault, Riley is losing her business because of supporting a friend in need. In a chance encounter, Riley helps Jordan, and gets the job offer to take care of the child in his care.
As Riley takes care of his child, She also helps him in his struggles, calms him in pain and makes his life easier. They grow to be friends and become lovers. However the past always catches up and they have to come out of their past demons to start a new life. 
I loved how the apology part of the book was written. When Jordan feels sorry, he just doesn't say sorry. He works to fix it. When Riley listens to his sorry, she just doesn't take him back until she understands his change in behavior. Sometimes all we need to forgive someone is seeing that they really regret their actions.
I would recommend this book to all romance readers!

Some of Ms. Dangelico's book's I've loved and some I've hated. This one was right in the middle.

Riley and Jordan had chemistry, but it took forever and a day to get there. There's so much emotional angst to dig through. Plus there's all the side drama with her friend and his mom (who by the way is a piece of work). That little two year old sure was a cutie and I hope to see her again in a future book.

This book was my first that I have read by P. Dangelico. I have definitely mixed feelings on this one. Though I did read this book in one sitting I got confused in some areas. Riley is this badass women who is a very interesting character. I really liked her loyal actions and the way she doesn't let gender norms get to her. Something that I was a little overwhelmed with though was how fast paced this book was when I was still a little behind on detail. This book was pretty short and was so fast that it felt like I was not getting the full experience. Though this book was fast paced I did like the characters in there personality.

This book took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting to love it so much but it swept me away, made me laugh and gave me ALL the feels.
The story is filled with cute, heart warming scenes and some involved the cutest little toddler ever!
The lead female Riley is an absolute joy. She is a no nonsense, strong and capable woman. I don't think I have ever read a book about a woman like her. I adored her tenacity, optimism and humour. She made this book! Her love interest Joshua is a broken man. I loved seeing his journey and the small ways he slowly evolved. It was beautiful to read. There were a few side characters and they all played good roles. I would love a story about both of their best friends.
The romance was well written and felt real. I would personally have liked more smut but I still really enjoyed it.
The writing was great and there were loads of quotable lines which I love. However in this eARC there were a lot of spelling and grammatical errors which I hope get edited before it is released.

My only problem was the ending. I was hoping that there would be an epilogue as it felt slightly rushed. I also generally wanted MORE as the story was so good. It was a short book and I feel it could have had more scenes but that just shows how much I loved it.

It is a fantastic romance and I can'twait to read more of P Dangelico's books. I highly recommend it for any romance lovers that aren't after an overly smutty book.

They are amazing authors and kept the story moving at a great pace.,
The book was easy to follow and kept me interested.
The characters were well-developed and easy to like / relate to.
I'd definitely read more books by this author.

Interesting beginning to this book with the initial meeting of our hero and heroine. But who is the real "hero". Turns out Riley was the one to save Jordan....and maybe not just in a literal sense.

Riley is a cool girl. Working at a restaurant while also launching her new construction business. With a best friend named Tommy who she feels indebted to but who is stumbling down the wrong path, and a mother suffering from depression after her dad died of cancer from cleaning up the after affects of 9/11. Even with all that, Riley is a positive person and I liked the way she looked at things.... glass half full.

Anyway, their initial meeting is just the beginning. Jordan was stone cold!!! But Riley was just the person to break him down. Add a kid to the mix (which I won't explain in this review.... you need to read it) and things got REALLY interesting! Some really, really funny moments!!

I started to slow read this book because I didn't want to leave these two. And then when I did finish, I felt like it wrapped up a little too easy and predictable. And I was a little sad to tell the truth. And I didn't get an Epilogue...sigh....

BUT.......I REALLY LOVED THE BOOK AND I HOPE EVERYONE READS IT!!!!

I typically write my reviews right after I finish a book, typically, but I had to put this one off for a bit because of a mishmash of reactions I was having to the book. None were horrible, or anything, it was more that I didn’t know exactly how I would rate it. I liked it, but there were things that happened that had me waffling quite a bit. So I took a minute and I finally settled on the rating you see. Because the simple fact is that I did like the book, especially the first half or so, but the second half ~ along with a couple of things that had me scratching my head from the start ~ just kinda left me feeling like I needed more from Riley and Jordan and I didn’t get it.

I liked both Riley and Jordan. I loved Riley’s drive and how she took care of the people in her life. Jordan was a bit of a broody, curt, wreck at the start, but I have a thing for broody guys so I let it ride and did end up liking him in the end. I liked how their relationship grew and changed thanks to Maise, who kept them both on their toes and quite honest in a lot of ways and was just slow burn goodness and then that point came in their story and all of a sudden it felt like they went from a leisurely stroll to a full on mile sprint. The reason they finally pulled the trigger made sense to me, but boy all kinds of things happen between them in such a short time that even I was out of breath by the end of it. I just really wish we had more time with THEM alone before the bombs started falling.

I was going to keep this ‘short and sweet’ and it kinda is, but kinda not. But it is, what it is. This isn’t a bad read in any way. While there were a couple of things that had me scratching my head in confusion, there were also some great moments that had me laughing and I loved Maise, Veronica and Dom and definitely wouldn’t mind a book about Beau. So, this one may be sitting on the like shelf, but you may end up loving it.

This book was so much more than what I bargained for. I loved every second.
Riley and Jordan had so much chemistry that I felt from the very beginning.
I liked that the timeline of this book was realistic (in my opinion) and that they grew a friendship.
Jordan was so much more than he let people see and I loved being able to watch him open up.
Riley had such a big heart and really did want what was best for everyone.
Dangelico has a way of sucking me in from the beginning, taking me on a wild ride, and giving me everything I didn’t know I needed from a book
I’m excited to get the paperback and to read this book again!

How to Save a Life by P Dangelico was thoroughly engaging. I read and enjoyed this book in basically one sitting. The story didn’t quite match up to the description and it wasn’t completely what I expected, but I did really enjoy it.

The heroine, Riley James Jr, was perfect. She was tough yet sensitive. She had lots of set backs and not the easiest of life, but she was determine to work hard to make her dreams come true. She was real and imperfect and I loved getting to know her character. Our hero, Jordan, also didn’t fit into the typical grumpy billionaire box either. As I said before, this book just wasn’t what it seemed to be. Yes our hero was grump and rich and at times, domineering, but as we kept reading, we learned so much more about them.

The story had some twists and turns and it kept me hooked. I loved the character the development, my only problem was we saw the character development and learned so much about them, but I missed seeing them learn all the same details about each other. I’ve read the other books by P Dangelico and they are normally a 5 star, must re-read. And I’ll probably re-read this one too - but there was something missing. I know they spent lots of time together so it wasn’t insta love and the author told us about their backgrounds and life - but even towards the end of the book, the hero still hadn’t learned all about Riley’s past and I missed that sharing. I wanted more -which isn’t necessarily a bad thing - but yeah. I felt I needed just a little bit more for the 5 star.

How to Save a Life is a standalone, contemporary romance. It’s a bit of a slow burn with some steamy moments. It’s emotional with some light and fun times too. It had alternate POVs. There were a couple typos, but nothing too. blaring. I would honestly recommend this book and absolutely recommend this author.

When I saw that author P. Dangelico had a new book coming out, I immediately added it to my TBR list. I didn't even read the book blurb because everything she writes is a winner. Needless to say, How to Save a Life is an engaging story that I read from cover to cover in just a couple of days.

Riley James is an amazing woman. She works two jobs in order to pay her mortgage, take care of her depressed mother, and keep her contracting business in the black. In addition, she is fiercely loyal to those who have helped her along the way. When her friend Tom needs a boatload of money to pay off his gambling debt to a loan shark, Riley comes to his rescue. She needs another job fast, and she is lucky to find work as a temporary nanny for a billionaire's toddler. The billionaire pays very well.

Jordan West owes his wealth to hard work and the tech industry. Surviving cancer in his teens, has given him a unique perspective of the world. Jordan has difficulty moving on when his unrequited love passes away, and then suddenly becoming temporary guardian to his two-year-old goddaughter only adds to it. Luckily, Riley comes into his life and she creates a happiness he never knew existed.

The hustle and bustle of New York City, and the peacefulness of the Hamptons, create the perfect setting for this emotional romance. Both Riley and Jordan are easy to get to know, thanks to the outstanding writing. If you are looking for a contemporary romance with the perfect balance of sweetness and heat, an entertaining toddler, and a happily ever after, then read this book.

The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I loved Riley and Jordan, and I definitely felt a strong connection between them. I would have liked to have Jordan's POV some as he developed feelings for Riley; I think that would have made the connection stronger much earlier in the book. Nonetheless, we don't get much of his POV until later, but then when we do, the connection is very strong. I realized that I've gotten spoiled by Epilogues, and I desperately wanted one here. I'm hoping that maybe we'll get Eli's story, or maybe even a follow-up short story, that allows us to catch up with Riley and Jordan, and of course Eli and Maisie. So, overall, this story provided a great escape and was a much-welcomed way to spend a day. I had been in a book rut, and this pulled me right out of it.

This was a beautifully intense ride from start to finish.
Riley and Jordan sizzle through each of these pages, from the first rude interaction to the last, filled with love. They had great banter, an attraction that was evident from the start, even if neither of them wanted it, and a joint vested interest in taking care of Maisie.
I shredded through these pages in no time at all, and found myself rooting for them all.
