Here we are starting a new series by Miranda Liasson and I couldn't be any more excited. I enjoy her small-town romances with her wonderful, memorable characters. In fact, when I wasn't reading Coming Home to Seashell Harbor I found myself thinking about the characters. Wondering who was coming next and who'd I love to know more about.

I have to admit I'm a big fan of books like that. You know the ones, the characters stay with you even when your washing dishes.

I'm a huge fan of Tony's. He is the sweetest most caring hero. Right away you see what he's about. He does have some huge self-esteem and abandonment issues. The problem was these issues make him make stupid decisions that hurt him and sometimes others. I was happy reading about how he dealt with everything.

Now Hadley I flip-flopped on. As a whole I liked her but I also thought that sometimes there were big holes in her plans and the need to one-up Tony because she was mad at him. She at times became so focused on that she lost all thoughts of the follow-through. Like once she got her grandmother's place back up and running who was going to run it? He really gave no thought to her grandmother.

The good news is that Hadley too is a good person the times I like her way outway the ones when I didn't.

I think you'll really enjoy these two and all that goes on in town. There are so many wonderful people that live here you won't want to leave. I know I'm looking forward to visiting again.

I very much enjoy Miranda Liasson’s books, because I can see myself walking down the sidewalks of her charming small towns. Her descriptions allow me to hear the waves, smell the beach air and feel the sun on my back and the sand between my toes. The second chance at love, the dogs and the competition between our leads all adds to a fun story.
But I never really connected with either main character. Cam and Hadley didn’t really spark for me, and I was never very invested in their relationship. I honestly can’t even put my finger on why, because I like them both and was glad to see them get their HEA. It just never clicked for me. I would have liked seeing more of the aftermath of their breakup as teens, or maybe watch Cam try to physically heal from his injury.
On the other hand, I am very excited about the potential of both Darla and Kit’s stories! I’m hoping we get glimpses of both Darla’s recovery and the issues surrounding her divorce from Nick. I want to know more about Kit’s relationship with her late husband…and did the author realize the pairing of her name with her spouse, Carson!? I got a laugh out of that!
So while this pairing wasn’t a favorite, I love this little town and the citizens we’ve met so far, and can’t wait to return again soon!

Charming, breezy, and delightful!

Coming Home to Seashell Harbor is a spirited, heartwarming, second-chance romance that mixes the independent, fiery Hadley, who’s determined to do whatever it takes to keep the doors of her grandmother’s “Pooch Palace” open for business, and the successful, driven Tony, who now that his football career has been sidelined due to injury is focused on cashing in on his fame by buying up the perfect location for a new restaurant he hopes to eventually turn into a chain.

The prose is amusing and light. The characters, including all the supporting characters, are quirky, supportive, and kind. And the plot is a fun-loving, flirty blend of tricky situations, tender moments, humorous mishaps, self-discovery, friendship, family, happiness, romance, and adorable four-legged friends.

Overall, Coming Home to Seashell Harbor is a humorous, entertaining, enjoyable treat by Liasson that’s a promising start for this new Seashell Harbor series and is the perfect choice for anyone who loves endearing characters and small-town charm.

I always enjoy Miranda Liasson's books and I loved Coming Home to Seashell Harbor. The story is a wonderful story of coming home and second chances. Hadley and Cam both end up back in their hometown years after they broke up. Their reunion is filled with sweet moments and humor. It is such a feel good story that I hated for it to end. I'm looking to more stories in Seashell Harbor, so many characters that could get a story of their own. I always finish a book by Miranda Liasson feeling happy and this one is no exception. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Harlequin Junkie Top Pick!

Coming Home to Seashell Harbor by Miranda Liasson is the first book in her Seaside Harbor series.

Hadley Wells has returned home to Seashell Harbor to spend a few months with her family after her very public breakup with A-List actor Cooper Hemsley. The stories about her in the gossip rags were outrageous. Of course she hadn't spent time in rehab. The PR firm Hadley worked for in Los Angeles "suggested" she leave town for six months or so until the gossip died down.

Home meant spending time helping her grandmother with Gran's dog boarding business, Pooch Palace. Hadley was thrilled to be home and then she saw the banner welcoming home Cam, Tony Cammareri, pro football star and her high school sweetheart. The guy who broke her heart. Believe it or not he actually broke up with her via sticky note!

Tony Cammareri, pro football star, was home in Seashell Harbor for good - career ending knee injury. Cam was sure he had Madeline Edwards convinced to sell him her building located smack dab in the middle of town, the perfect spot for the restaurant he planned to open. Cam had to close the deal quickly while he could still capitalize on his fame from his football career. Then Hadley Wells came home. She was determined to stop her Gran from selling Pooch Palace. When Gran fell and broke her hip just before Hadley arrived back in Seashell Harbor the negotiations for the sale of the building stalled while Gran recovered from her hip replacement surgery.

Things were tense, very tense, between Hadley and Cam since the building was such a bone of contention. Cam knew he messed up big time when he broke up with Hadley after high school. The more time he spends with her the more he couldn't resist falling for her again.

The storyline ran smoothly and was quite entertaining. The characters were fun to get to know but both could be frustrating at times with their stubbornness. I liked the slow buildup to their reignited relationship. This author made it quite believable. With this book beginning the series I believe Miranda Liasson has a hit series on her hands.

Are you looking for a new book to read that is totally escapist and will take you away to an idyllic place? This one is the start to a brand new small town romance series, and friends, it was such a delightful introduction!

Hadley heads home after a very public and humiliating breakup with her famous ex to lick her wounds and just relax with friends and family for the summer. But when she arrives things are kind of a mess, her Grandma’s beloved dog boardinghouse is failing and her high school ex that broke her heart is also back in town for awhile. So you have a second chance romance, admittedly this isn’t my most favorite trope, BUT there’s a bit of enemies to lovers here as well as Hadley and Cam are at opposite ends of basically everything for a large part of the book. The first book in a new series can be tricky because the author is trying to pack so much into one book with introducing an entire new town. Sometimes the main love story can get lost in the details but it was smooth here. I felt like I got a nice taste of Seashell Harbor and it’s residents but also got to know Hadley and Cam as well. I’m really excited to see where this series goes, such a solid beginning and Hadley’s best friends, Darla and Kit will be getting their own books next and they both had me intrigued here

Thank you to @readforeverpub for a copy of the book. I always love a good second chance romance. This was such a fun small town romance. I love that Cam and Hadley was competing for the same spot for their next chapter in life while navigating what’s rekindling between them. I love the family dynamics as well as the friends in the book. And the dogs were so special too. This was such a feel good story.

Well apparently these last two months one of the first books I’ve read I already know will be a favorite🥰

This is my first Miranda Liasson book, but it will definitely not be my last- I ready added some of her others to my TBR! Thank you @netgally and @readforeverpub for an advance readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book encompasses so many things: small town romance ✔️ second chance romance ✔️ kind of enemies to lovers ✔️ ex-football player✔️
Hadley returns home to Seashell Harbor after a very public breakup and plans to reassess what she truly wants. When she finds out her high school boyfriend Tony, the one who broke her heart, wants to buy her Grans building to open a restaurant she becomes skeptical of his motives. The two of them are forced to come up with their own business plans to see who gets the building from Gran. Who will win? Hadley, Tony or both?

This book dragged me in right away. It’s so clear from the very beginning how much Hadley loves her Gran😭 There was so much bickering and sexual tension between Hadley and Tony. I love that they both went their separate ways, grew up and found their way back to each other. Oh and did I mention dogs?!?!? The dogs in this story though😭 I’m a sucker for adoption dogs! And I can’t wait for book ✌🏻 next year.

Hadley is still reeling from her breakup with a big shot and now back to her hometown. Its there that she finds her grandmother is retiring from the doggie business and the first guy to break her heart is looking to turn it into a restaurant when she had always seen herself going back to her grand mothers business. Now they are to battle it out and come up with ideas of who's idea would be best for this location.

I loved this book it was a second chances, enemies to lovers kinda things. I mean Cam broke her heart eons ago and she's still feeling it at the slightest view of a post it. Cam it dealing with a lot right now and thought it would be a nice idea to take over Hadley's grandmothers place and turn it into a family restaurant and with his previous football career can help get the work out make people want to come to the location he never expected for Hadley to show up. I loved seeing the who work together and against eachother, both are on opposing sides with their own opinions of what should be done. But there is also that old lingering attraction that the both used to have and with close connection its hard for that not to ignite and I loved watching the romance to play out. Can't help but wonder what was going to happen to the location now with how things are going and it could ruin the relationship between eachother and theres so much riding on this. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.

3.5/5 Coming Home to Seashell Harbor by Miranda Liasson, book one in her Seashell Harbor series, is a wonderful, emotional tale of the high school sweethearts getting a second chance after finding themselves back in their hometown for the summer, many years later. Hadley Wells switched career plans from saving the planet to put out fires for Hollywood celebrities. When a very public breakup reveals that her life is not as perfect as she thought, she returns to her hometown of Seashell Harbor, to figure out what she wants truly wants to do with her life. Upon arrival, she discovers her grandmother had fallen breaking a hip and is considering retirement. Oh, and then there’s the return of the town’s prodigal son, Tony, her first love, and first to break her heart. A career-ending injury forced football player Tony Cammareri into an early retirement causing him to focus on his future. Tony is determined to open a restaurant, using his father’s family recipes, but it’s not as simple as all that; including unwanted franchising opportunities. Learning that Hadley is back in town he is determined to apologize for the way he ended things between them back after graduation; despite knowing it wouldn’t be a happy reunion between them. Vying for occupation of her grandmother’s storefront and for control of the town’s future development, Tony and Hadley find themselves on opposing sides as they try to prove with plan would best serve the town. As their rivalry intensifies, Hadley and Tony need to decide what is worth fighting for in order to be happy.

Hadley and Tony might have split up seventeen years prior but they still acted like teens, trying to one-up each other. It was difficult to believe they were thiry-somethings by their actions and behaviors. Yet, you could tell they still loved the town where they grew up. The magnetic attraction and chemistry they shared as teens was still there as evident in their inability to stop trying to help each other. I enjoyed all the dogs that played a role in the story and in their reunion. Hadley’s grandmother was a wonderful addition to the story, adding to their competitiveness and finding ways to push them together. Hadley and Tony were truly soul-mates, pieces of the same puzzle that belonged together. It was hard to understand why it took so long for them to realize it.

Ms. Liasson wrote a tale that was emotional, sizzling, tale, filled with wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters is a must read. I highly recommend Coming Home to Seashell Harbor to other readers.

This was a fun second chance romance book set in a cute Jersey shore town. I'm excited there will be more books in this series.

Hadley has come home for the summer after an infortunate breakup with a Hollywood star and all her summer plans disappeared when she found out her Grams is thinking of selling her dog boarding business. Especially when she hears her high school sweetheart and ex, the former NFL player is back and wants to buy the building for a restaurant.

There is some cute, witty banter in this slow burn book. I loved both families, the friends and everything about this cute town.

Coming Home to Seashell Harbor was a wonderful introduction to this new series! Miranda Liasson is a new author to me and I really enjoyed her brand of storytelling.

Hadley has come home to Seashell Harbor following a very hurtful and very public break-up. She feels a bit like her life is in limbo when she gets home and she's looking forward to spending time with her family and helping her grandmother out at the Pooch Palace, her longtime business. When she gets home, things aren't exactly how she expected, which throws her even more.

Tony "Cam" Cammareri grew up in Seashell Harbor, but made it as a professional football player until an injury forced his retirement. Now he's trying to figure out what to do with his life and while he thinks he's got a great idea, things might not go exactly the way he expects when his first love, Hadley, blows back into town.

When Cam and Hadley realize they are vying for the same piece of real estate in downtown, things get interesting. They both feel their idea is the right one and it's entertaining to see how each of their families and their friends get involved in the action. Not to mention the furry friends that help to make the story so enjoyable! This was a fun read and I look forward to more in this series and more by this author!

This is unfortunately a DNF at 40% for me. I struggled reading it, it just never pulled me in. I think a lot of my issues were personal preference. While I enjoyed the strong female friend group I struggled with the romance. Once the reasons they broke up were articulated it made it even harder to want to invest myself in their story of getting together.

A light read, just was not for me.

This is a second chance romance that was an absolute joy to read. It is full of love for family and friends plus sweet puppies, dogs, a few kittens, and some kids that you will fall in love with. This book was like a breath of fresh air, I loved it and look forward to the next book in this series. In my humble opinion this is a Must Read book.

What goes around comes around and bites you in the heart. Coming Home to Seashell Harbor is a journey of reckoning. A story of forgiveness that speaks to the flaws inside that remind us we are human. Liasson grabs hold of emotions with the glitches in life and exposes the hard road to love. Hadley and Tony come of age with a bit of life wisdom and sprinkling of heartache. Not quite perfect comes pretty close to beautiful.

Coming Home to Seashell Harbor is a sweet, summery book that follows Hadley as she makes her way back home to Seashell Harbor following a pretty public breakup. There, she runs into an ex from high school, Cam, as he is also back home after his football career ended from an injury.

This is a light, predictable, second-chance romance. I find all romances to be predictable, but that doesn't mean I love the storyline any less. All of the characters in this book were so special in their own ways. I loved getting to know Hadley's friends and support system, as well as Cam and his boisterous Italian family. The whole premise of Hadley going home to work, and then save, her grandmother's dog boarding facility was such an enjoyable storyline! Honestly this book was just warm and cozy and perfect to get me into the summer mood. This is my first by this author- but I am looking forward to continuing with this series!

After a public breakup with her famous actor boyfriend, Hadley needs a trip back home to Seashell Harbor. Upon returning home she's hit with a few unexpectancies. Including her high school ex-boyfriend, injured football player, Tony.

Miranda Liasson won me over with her Angel Falls series. Although Coming Home to Seashell Harbor is a new series, I got the same familiar, cozy, sweet, genuine feels as the Angel Falls series. The town is quaint, inviting, the characters she creates are relatable with real relationships.

Add in Hadley's sweet granny, dogs, a second chance romance story and you're in for a fantastic summer read!

Seashell Harbor unfolds a terrific story of two families. To start we find Hadley Wells returning home to spend the summer helping her grandmother, Maddy in her Pooch Palace. She and her workers wash dogs, keep them for daycare and family vacation time or try to locate homes for lost and abandoned pets. Hadley leaves her job in Hollywood after the PR firm she worked for insisted she take the summer off to let the tabloids find someone else to chat about. Hadley’s affair with movie actor, Cooper Helmsley ended suddenly. Yes, she was dumped and all the rags had gotten plenty of photos throughout the ordeal. Even in the Harbor, people stared.
On the other side of the coin so to speak we find that Tony Cammareri, (better known as Cam) had just come home. He was the town’s famous and talented football tight end. Recently his career had come to an end via a serious fracture of his knee. After weeks of recovery and therapy he’d come home to Seashell Harbor to buy out Maddy’s Pooch Palace when she retired. He planned to open a restaurant, the first of a chain. Cam and Hadley were soulmates all through high school. Although they had planned on staying together for the long haul, Cam was off to play college football and then drafted by the NFL. Hadley’s heart was broken. She went off to college, graduated with honors and started working in Public Relations that soon developed into planning, accounting, and working for hugely successful people.
Coming Home to Seashell Harbor is a blend of stories that each family member speaks, as the journey continues to fold together. Friends become coworkers, exes find love again, and old companions approach retirement and enjoy vacationing together. It’s a lovely book by Miranda Liasson that leaves us feeling cozy and hoping the best for the characters we come to know and love. It will be published by Hachette Book Group on May 04, 2021. I appreciate their allowing me to read and review Coming Home to Seashell Harbor. It reminded me of returning home and feeling the serenity of my home town as well as recognizing old friends. This is a terrific summer novel to read at the beach or in a sunny backyard or front porch. Don’t pass this one up and by all means, Enjoy!

When Hadley's famous actor boyfriend publicly leaves her for his costar, she thinks returning to her small coastal hometown will be a reprieve from publicity and men. Unfortunately, her high school sweetheart and ex, Tony "Cam" Cammareri is also home after an NFL career-ending injury. And they both want her grandmother's building--Hadley for an animal shelter and Cam for a restaurant. Will sparks fly or heads crash?

This book is extremely standard. There's not much about it that really stands out, but not a lot that's bad either. I was hoping we'd get more "celebrity romance" or scandal, with the famous folk mixed in, but that was hardly a part of the book at all. Despite this, I was into the story, until we got to the 85% mark and something truly unexpected happened. Seriously, I had to flip back a few pages to make sure I didn't miss something. It was just totally strange and out of character for the characters. I can't really say much more than that without spoilers, but I just wish it wouldn't have happened.

This book would be great for those who are fans of closed-door, small-town romances and love dogs. I probably would have liked this book more if I were more of a dog person!

Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4 stars - 6/10
