I really enjoyed this story and following the family in this light, enjoyable read. The family was a loving family and it was endearing to read about their family dynamics and how close the family members are to one another. Olivia was a very likeable, relatable character and was a joy to read about. I didn't realize this book comes after 10 Blind Dates but now I want to go back and read that book as well. A good, fun, enjoyable read that I recommend.

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book from #netgalley. This book was so much fun! My only drawback was the vast number of characters, but since the book was about our heroine's massive family, it was an important addition. It was hard to keep track of them, which I'm sure was intentional. So when they were all together it would make my head spin some.
Anyway, our heroine is the salutatorian for her high school. She has worked so hard for this coveted spot (although the valedictorian would have made her happier). But then the unthinkable happens. She is a half a credit short! And PE, no less. (Ugh. Stupid PE.) She had hoped to slip through it by taking a golf class, but soon found it was more time consuming than she had time for.
While trying to make up the credit so she can graduate on time she learns some valuable lessons. Apparently golf relies on integrity. (Who knew? I never equated integrity with politicians, and golf is their sport of choice.)
She tries to keep the mistake from her parents and the rest of the family, but realizes she will need the help of her posse if she is to be in two places at once. Especially with her mother tracking her every move. She calls on her cousins and friend to help out with hilarious results.
An excellent book that is fun to read with wonderful lessons for young adults.

After reading and loving Ten Blind Dates, I was excited to visit the Fab Four and their family again.

While I did not enjoy 10 Truths and a Dare as much, it was still a quick read (I have to remind myself it is a YA book, so there won't always be much depth && DISCLAIMER: YA books are very hit or miss for me). I love the family and Fab Four's relationship. They are so supportive of each other and continuously have each other's backs.

I felt like the family dynamic, humor, and charm in this book was lacking as opposed to Ten Blind Dates and Olivia's eventual relationship with her love interest felt too rushed- I would have been fine with no mention of a relationship. While it was missing some charm, it is about graduation and everything that comes with it, so this is the perfect time to read it.

All in all, while extremely predictable, if you are looking for a fast read and like mentions of golf, please don't let my review deter you from picking this book up!

Thank you @netgalley and @disneybooks for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

10 Truths and a Dare was absolutely adorable!

I think my favorite part of this book as well as 10 Blind Dates was the family. You can just feel the love the family has for each other and how much they root each other on no matter what.

Now, 10 Truths and a Dare follows Olivia, the cousin of the main character from 10 Blind Dates. She is an overachiever and is about to graduate high school as salutatorian. However, she finds out she is half a credit short of graduating because of an off campus P.E. class that she didn’t take quite as seriously as she should have. So, she makes a deal with the P.E. coach to make up the hours she missed and chaos naturally ensues.

Overall, if you’re looking a for a cute YA romcom with a family that you’ll fall in love with, I highly recommend this one as well as 10 Blind Dates!

Unfortunately this book didn't work for me as expected. I don't know if it was because I went with high expectations because I loved the previous book or because of the excess of lies and excesses of Olivia's mother.
I even tried to connect with the couple, but I couldn't even do that.
The story is funny and for me the public focus has changed, it feels like it was written for younger teenagers than the previous book and that may have made a difference in my reading.

10 Truths and a Dare is the perfect follow up to 10 Blind Dates! Ashley Elston is quickly becoming a go to author. I enjoyed following Olivia as she tries to navigate grad parties, golf courses, and trying to make sure she graduates. One of my favorite things about this book as well as the previous one is the family relationships, especially between cousins. I love that even though the story is mostly about Olivia, we get chapters from the other cousins points of view as well! The only thing I wish this book had is more scenes with the whole family! I love these books and I'm really hoping for a 3rd! Charlie needs his own story! Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of 10 Truths and a Dare. All opinions are my own.

I loved this book! I laughed, cried, and had so much fun reading it. It’s been a few months since I read a book where I ended up staying up past 12 because I was so engrossed in it. I loved the southerness of this book, if that makes sense. Growing up in Memphis made me appreciate this story more. I loved how a lot of the family lived on the same street and got together at least once a month.  I loved how Nonna always had breakfast or some kind of food making and anyone at anytime could go and eat, with no invitation.

The Fab Four were my favorite!Their close friendship and love for one another really made the story. I also really liked that even though Olivia was the main POV we got a little of Wes, Charlie, and Sophie’s POV when they had Olivia’s phone. The familial rivalship was fun and I absolutely loved Leo. There was a moment in the book where I thought there might be a love triangle, but I am so glad to report that there isn’t 🥰.

Thank you to Disney Hyperion for the NetGalley ARC!

I had a lot of mixed feelings while reading this book. I really liked the over-the-top plot, and I have no complaints about the writing! Honestly, my biggest issue with this book was the gigantic cast of characters.

I, sadly, made the mistake of reading this book without reading 10 Blind Dates beforehand. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal, because this is a companion novel, but I was so wrong. It was very overwhelming being introduced to so many characters at once. I genuinely didn’t know who was who, and it was very difficult trying to keep track of who was Olivia’s cousin, and who was one of Olivia’s school friends. They all began to blur more and more as I continued reading, and it took me out of the story and made the reading experience unenjoyable.

I would love to give this book a second chance, once I read 10 Blind Dates! I think once I have a better understanding of the characters and family that these books center around, I’ll have a much more enjoyable time reading it.

This was a fun read, not much more to say about it though. It had a good story and good writing. Fans of contemporary would enjoy this much more than I did!

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Disney for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Truth #1: If something happens but your Nonna doesn’t find out about it and tell the whole family, then it didn’t really happen.

You will go through the last days of Oliva's senior year of high school. Oliva is a kind, caring young lady, who never gets herself into trouble until now. Her mom will track her every move through her phone. But what is she doing that is so wrong?

Ahhhhh yes. This was a great follow up to 10 Blind Dates!

While I didn't love this one quite as much as the first, this still gave me all of the big family love that I got from the first book.

Honestly the only place I felt this was lacking was in the shenanigans. There were a lot more funny moments in the first book vs. this one. It was still a decent entry though.

I loved the romance aspect and the friend group. SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE FRIEND GROUP!!!

I even teared up a bit at the end with the "future" talk of what to expect from this friend group. I hope Ashley plans to write more from this group in the future!

Synopsis: It's Senior Week, that magical in-between time after classes have ended but before graduation, chock-full of gimmicky theme parties, last-minute bonding, and family traditions. Olivia couldn't be more ready. Class salutatorian and confident in her future at LSU, she's poised to sail through to the next phase of her life.

But when the tiny hiccup of an unsigned off-campus P.E. form puts Olivia in danger of not graduating at all, she has one week to set things straight without tipping off her very big and very nosy extended family. Volunteering to help at a local golf tournament should do it, but since Olivia's mom equipped her phone with a tracking app, there'll be no hiding the fact that she's at the golf course instead of all the graduation parties happening at the same time. Unless, that is, she can convince the Fab Four--her ride-or-die cousins and best friends Sophie, Charlie, and Wes--to trade phones with her as they go through the motions of playing Olivia for the week.

Sure, certain members of the golf team are none too pleased with Olivia's sudden "passion" for the game. And sure, a very cute, very off-limits boy keeps popping up in Olivia's orbit. But she is focused! She has a schedule and a plan! Nothing can possibly go wrong . . . right?

Review: So, I'm not gonna lie. I'm horrible at actually reading a blurb and just getting books based on authors, if I see it on bookstagram, or if the cover just looks pretty. So when I started this book I thought that there were a lot of things that were very familiar about it, and it took me until about 65 pages in to realize that this is a companion to one of my favorite contemporary books: 10 Blind Dates. So after I realized that it made me love the book so much more LOL. For clarification you do not have to read 10 blind dates before you read 10 truths and a dare, but the contexts helps a lot LOL. I really loved the continued character development and I loved how this character was set up. I also thought that the pacing was very well done and the plot kept me hooked throughout the book. I even thought that the third act climax was very well done because it circled back to the first act climax LOL.

The only thing that I didn't really like about this book is that the World building is very dependent on 10 blind dates. So if you choose to read this book before reading 10 blind dates then there will be a little confusion on that part.

Verdict: I loved it so much.

Absolutely loved this book. It can definitely be read as a stand alone. We get to catch up with the Fab Four, with the story focusing on Olivia and everything she has to go through in order to get those last few credits in order to graduate from HS. When the story is told from the POV of Charlie, Wes and Sophie, I was laughing out loud. The lengths that family will go to in order to help someone you love can be outright hysterical! The shenanigans were hilarious.

Cute, quick YA. Don’t really read a lot of stuff like this anymore but it was some fun escapism. Nothing that made me roll my eyes or want to quit reading it. Looked forward to something lighthearted.

I absolutely loved 10 Blind Dates last year by Ashley Elston. When I saw she was coming out with a new book including the same zany family at 10 Blind Dates, I had to have it.

This follows Olivia, who is ready to graduate as salutatorian of her high school. Unfortunately, her graduation is in jeopardy due to some missed PE credit. She volunteers at a local golf tournament to try to gain the credit. The problem? Her parents are out of town and her mom has put a tracker on her phone so she doesn't miss out on graduation week. Her cousins and friends have to step in and make it look like Olivia is at the festivities of graduation week when she's actually at a golf tournament. And of course, there's a golfer than catches her eye!

My issue with this book is that it seemed like it was written a lot younger than the first. I thought a lot of the scenes were boring and completely irrelevant to the story. Keep in mind, I'm not in the target age range for the story. Therefore, I gave it 3 stars. I think someone in this age demographic would like this cute, wholesome teenage romance.

I tried, I really did.
To start, 10 Blind Dates was one of the best books I read last year. I read and reread. It was a perfect blend of humor and family.
This book however...
Like I said, I tried.
Overall, this book was just too over the top for me to believe anything that happened.
I am not trying to brag but to say my qualifications, I am in the top ten graduates of my class. Sophie is in the top of the top, meaning first or second in her class. I can assure you that if she actually is that high, she will not be skipping classes. She will be in every class, every single day, working her behind off to get the best grades possible. She will not be showing up late or ditching. She will not not turn in her work. She will be the model student that every teacher adores. That is my first issue with the book.
The second is her mom. Now, Sophie is 18. She is about to head off to college. Her mom seems to think that she is a 10-year-old kid left home alone. I know that some parents are over the top, but this was just too much. You would think that with her being 18, her mom would not be sitting on her phone ALL DAY STALKING every move she makes. Seriously, her mom even had to text her what clothes to wear. Ugh.
This one just missed the mark for me by a lot. I will not be returning to try and finish the book.
(Oh, can I mention that the cover is in a very different style than the companion novel?)

I really enjoyed this book. In the same line as 10 Blind Dates, family is so important.
The mother in the book drove me crazy, but being a mother myself I can understand to a point. I can’t wait to read more books from this author.

I didn't love this book as much as I loved 10 Blind Dates but it was still enjoyable and it was so wonderful to see all these lovable characters again! I can't wait for what Ashley Elston writes next!

While I didn’t love this one as 10 Blind Dates I still find it an enjoybale read. And I do look forward to more books by the author.
