This is an adorable picture book for preK-2nd grade students! The illustrations were very well done and the author had really great work that will help students in their reading skills. The rhyme schemes and patterns were written in ways that will help kids learn. As a student teacher I can definitely see myself using this book in my classroom to teach grammar and reading lessons!

I checked this book out because as a music teacher, I’m always looking for books that have either a strong sense of rhyme, or that uses lots of descriptive language like onomatopoeia that we can imitate with our voices, bodies, or instruments. This book didn’t disappoint in either category!

What I loved about this book was that the descriptive language changed along with the weather - it wasn’t repetitive and the changes made it engaging. Another thing that drew me in was how it described not only the weather, but how the plants and animals react to it, including birds and earthworms. This book would be great for the beginning of spring, when it’s all rainy and the animals are beginning to peek out.

I’ll definitely be adding this to my music classroom library, and recommending it to other music educators.

Adorable art style with a very sweet, whimsical story idea. It wasn't trying to teach but simply entertain, and I enjoyed the different activities her and her pup got into. There were a few rhyming lines that worked perfectly, but overall, the rhyme structure/meter was off, making it awkward to read aloud.

A sweet rhyming story of a rainy day adventure. Covers lots of animals that the little girl and her pup see along the way.

This was adorable!!

The art kept my attention fully and I adored that we got to follow along with this little girl and her dog as they went about saving different insects from the rain.

It brought me back to when I used to do that as a child and I hope it inspires more children to get out there and have fun. Also to show them that nature is beautiful, even creepy crawlies!

Adorable little book! I think kids will adore every page and rhyme.

5/5⭐️

A sweet little story that children are sure to enjoy. What’s not to love about a fun day of splashing in puddles and dashing through raindrops with your best friend pup? Quite enjoyable read with cute illustrations that will surely bring a smile.

This is the perfect story to read at bedtime with your kids. The colorful illustrations are so bright and cheery, and they help tell the story as much as the words! The rhymes are simple enough that young kids will be able to follow along and, if they are old enough, be able to read on their own. I would definitely buy a copy for my own kids one day!

This book has the best descriptive words that go along with having fun on the rain with your dog. This would be a great classroom book to talk about what happens when it rains, or to use when talking about descriptive words! I would recommend this book to anyone needing a cute bedtime story.

This is such an endearing read about a young girl and her dog and their adventures in the rain. 'Pitter, Patter, Goes the Rain' is a simple yet delightful read.

One thing I absolutely love about this story is the art style. I love the illustrations. I find it so adorable and love how vibrant the colours.

This book is such a delight and I can't wait to read this to my niece and nephew.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story was cute and the pictures were nice. It is written in poem form with rhyming couplets. I don't think I would read this with 4 year olds like the description says. The vocabulary is too advanced...

My little niece has loved jumping in puddles ever since she could walk.
What a wonderful little book - filled also with very lovely illustrations - for children, girls and boys, who can't wait to be outside when it is raining.

The idea how various animals experience the rainy times is so well-shown here - the pictures had me smiling all-through. I hope this book will be made available also in German language one day.

This book has beautiful illustrations that are bound to delight and invite conversation. The sound effects like 'splish splash' are something that reader and audience can enjoy together. Nicely done!

This was a really sweet and fun book for young readers. The joy and fun in exploring the rain was a great theme as was the care for the other living things (plants, birds, bugs) that we share the rainy landscape with. The are was loose and charming and the rhyming made the story flow, although the loose rhythm and meter would make this a slightly awkward book to read out loud.

Hmmm... A nice style is given to this quick little story of a child and a dog going for a walk in the rain, while being careful with and alert to all the other wildlife, but that's about all there is to say about it. It serves as an illustration of a specific kind of mindful awareness, but little more.
