A Cat for Troy by Allie McCormack
A slow but entertaining book about a shifter romance . Kat is a cat shifter she is injured when she is found by Troy in her cat form and can revert to human form until she has healed. A bit different but enjoyable read. It has action and romance and challenges . Note this is the third book in a series although I haven’t previously read any 3.5/5

I liked the fun twist of him falling for the cat before the human half. Nice little shifter romance with a nod to the djinn of earlier in the series.

A Cat for Troy is a sweet and clean romance novel that tells the story of Troy, a veterinarian, a Maine Coon shapeshifter named Cat, and her human alter ego, Katerine, who is sought out by a rogue werecat.
What most caught my attention about this novel is that the protagonist is a Maine Coon, and I have always dreamed of having a cat of that breed (I hope my adorable and loving domestic cats do not find out!), In addition, the plot It is well designed and, although it is preferable to read the books in order, they can be read as stand alone.
By mistake, I started reading the third book before realizing that I also have the previous two, so I'm going to chain-read the first two books. That is how interesting the story seemed to me, that I am not going to put those books down until I finish reading them!

This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I think this is my first time reading this author. This is part of a series (book 3). I had no idea so this reads great as a stand alone. I found this to be a fun, quirky, cute read. Troy and Cat are very interesting. I loved that Cat was a Maine Coon! This book also has some suspense. Great beach read. 3.5 stars

Will the devil hunting her endanger more than herself...
I just adored this slow building romance with a dash of danger about a man falling in love with a cat before loving its human dual self.
Sure I do believe this book at time crosses over with the previous story as the couple staring in it is equally part of this tale too, yet I did not feel it impeded my reading.
Plus for a shifters story, it was not all mating talk, urge of reproducing, the burgeoning romance between the H&h is all about getting to know one another, to appreciate their inner qualities and discover if they will be compatible in the long run.
Katherine and Cat are one person but two different personalities, I loved the world view through Cat’s lenses. This is the first I read about a domestic cat shifter, and she was so Kitty like, all princess attitude and still a cat. Napping lazily on the couch or pouting over her bowl of food then running crazy after some moving light. Like my own home fur spoiled girl.
So much, she at times lost focus on her human’s self schedule.
Why in fact Katherine makes truly her appearance only later in the storyline, and while close to Cat, she is also a separated entity from her feline self, more driven, in a different way, an artist in the soul. Yet they have in common their interest for Troy.
They both agree, he is the one for them.
Troy is the ideal sweetheart, kind, caring, always ready to oblige. He takes care of others, constantly trying to please them, whatever they are on two or four legs.
Why he talks to animals, seing them as equally deserving beings, he does more than nursing them, he respects them.
In all, it is an awesome and moving read of two persons finding their way toward the other despite life’s challenges.

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

This was a good book very entertaining, it had action and romance and a very bad wearcat. This was the first book by this author I have read but I know it won’t be my last.

Every cat owner can relate to Katerina and Troy!
I've read a lot of shifter books, but this one stands out as truly unique. Katerina/Cat is an impressive young woman, a successful fashion designer, in her human form. In her other form, she's a beautiful calico Maine Coon whose behavior is exactly what we'd expect from a cat - part demanding queen, part lackadaisical feline who just wants to spend the day basking in a sunbeam.
As was hinted at in the earlier two books (with some overlapping scenes shared with A Gift of Jacinth), there's a malevolent force threatening Cat and her family, and this story is as much about ferreting out that threat as it is about the growing affection between Troy and Katerina as well as Troy and his Cat.
I won't spoil the details, but suffice it to say that Troy and Katerina fight hard to get their HEA, making this book a beautiful capstone for the entire three-book set. I enjoyed every page of this wondrous journey, and I highly recommend this book and the entire series for anyone who loves paranormal romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I received the book as an ARC from NetGalley.
Allie McCormack has done a fantastic job continuing the series Wishes & Dreams. This book follows the adventures of Cat and her time with Troy.
The book is well written and the author paints such a vivid picture of what is going on that you do not want the story to end.

When I saw the cover of A Cat for Troy, same as with A Gift of Jacinth, I knew this would be a part of the Wishes in a Bottle series. And although you can read the books seperately, I think you will enjoy them even better, if you read them all. This one is about Douglas' colleague Troy. He agrees to take the wounded cat into his care, since Douglas is unable to take care of it. The calico cat, named Cat (by Douglas' children), certainly has a personality and Troy would swear she understands what he says.
Katerina is thankful that Jacinth was able to save her from the evil dog attack. But since this wasn't the first attack on her family, she and her shapeshifting sister will need to hide untill she finds out who is after them. Luckily, Kat's sister will be able to hide with Julian and Alessandra (yep, from Wishes in a Bottle). Because Douglas has his hands full with his djin wife Jacinth and his newly returned children (yep, from A Gift of Jacinth), he asks his colleague Troy to look after the cat (and of course not telling Troy that she is not actually a cat, but a shapeshifter).
Slowly healing, Kat is finding out that she really enjoys Troy's company. And even his dog is pretty okay - for a dog that is - duh. So, she is reluctant to shift back to human, also because she is still not sure who is after her. But when it appears that the one after her is now also threatening Troy, Katerina needs to come up with a plan. Or lose everyting, including Troy. Will she succeed? Find out for yourself in this wonderful cozy read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Book 3 in the series, but first one I've read. Wasn't lost though, as enough information is given to stay caught up. This one has Katerina (Cat) attacked while in her cat body. When her Djinn friend sends Troy, a veterinarian to get her from the shelter, she knows this is the man for her. Sounds a little silly, but the story is actually quite good and kept my interest throughout. Now I want to go back and read the other two books, and hope there are more books to come. Highly recommend this book, series and author.
