Scumble River is always entertaining this time even more so. Skye and Wally are cute and fun, they make the stories even more enjoyable. The series are relatable on the human level (not in the murdery level unless you run into murder frequently…)

If you've read any of the Scumble River books, from the first series or this one, you know what to expect and you mostly get it. Almost everyone either pops up or gets mentioned though the story really focuses on Skye and Wally's joint investigation. it was nice to see more of Skye's interactions with Wally which are usually pretty brief in most of the books.

The mystery keeps you guessing which was nice particularly with the limited suspect pool.

This new "Welcome Back to Scumble River" is a tad (and I mean a tad) racier than the first. There were a couple of vulgar words (and I really think it was the same word, twice) and some mention of racy lingerie. Wheeee! I find it a bit more realistic. I think the author is letting Skye be more feisty too which is nice.

Denise Swanson's Scumble River series is reliably well-written and enjoyable, and this latest book lives up to that reputation. Skye Dennison-Boyd has recently returned to her job as school psychologist after having her babies, and she's immediately called upon to help out everyone at school and her husband as well. The murderer wasn't obvious, and there was a lot of interesting characterization happening with Skye. If you like her previous books, you'll love this one!

Delightful afternoon romp with familiar setting and characters. Well plotted and enjoyable read and an easy recommendation.

I really like Denise Swanson and so was very excited to receive Body Over Troubled Waters from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Skye Dennison-Boyd returns to work after maternity leave. She has a horrendous day back and then comes home to two crying babies. Denise Swanson starts the story off with a bang. I have read her previous stories and enjoyed them all.
