Thanks to #NetGalley I got a copy of the audio book of #TheVanishingatLoxbyManor in exchange for my honest review. Charity returns back to Kent, England after five years in Ceylon. She is carrying a wound in her soul as she returns to the home of childhood friends and the first and only love she has had. Yet, what she finds isn't a place of serenity and healing. It's a place where things go bump in the night, people are disappearing and dying. This was a well written and well narrated story. I would definitely recommend it!

From the beginning until the end, "The Vanishing at Loxby Manor" took me on an intriguing and spooky journey, full of romance, mystery, and suspense. As two former lovers try to find out what happens to their dear friend. While finding out whether there is still a chance of something more between the two of them.

Five years ago Charity Halliwell left her friends, and the man she loved, and moved away with her family. Now, she returns to Loxby Manor, but she is no longer the same person.
All she wants is to have some fun with her old friends and start her life again. But on the night of Charity's arrival, her dear friend Celine disappears and leaves behind a confusing note and far too many questions.
Charity knows there is something wrong with Celine's disappearance.
With the help of Piers Cavanagh, Celine's brother and the only man Charity has ever loved, she tries to find out where is her dear friend, and what caused her to disappear.
Yet the more the two investigate the more questions that seem to float.
And even if the two reveal the truth, it might die with them.

Charity Halliwell is a relatable character. Throughout the investigation, we learn that Charity is extremely intelligent, yet she carries a lot of shame for what happened to her.
Piers Cavanagh is a sweetheart, but he too has his own flaws which make him a realistic and relatable character. I loved that while he tried to distance himself from Charity, he quickly realized that he prefers to have her in his life as a friend, than not at all.

Moreover, every single side-character has her own full personality and motives, which made the plot far more compelling and realistic. Charity and Piers don't only try to find out what happened to Celine, but also what happened to all of their old friends.
The richness of the characters created an interesting group of friends and a mysterious family dynamic. It created many small mysteries that made this novel all the more interesting.

The mystery itself was great. Every plot twist took us one step closer to the solution. It was done in a way that still left me confused and intrigue to find up what truly happened, and how everything connects.

The entire book has a suspenseful and spooky vibe, and I could not put it done before all was revealed.

If you're looking for an intriguing mystery, full of romance, suspense, and complicated characters that will keep you at the edge of your seat, then this book is for you.

A new Regency Mystery that did keep me guessing all the way through. Charity comes back to Loxby Manor after being away for five years and much has changed. Charity is thrust into the position of searching for her dear friend, sister to the man she has always loved. Charity has her own secrets and we quickly find out that Piers has been keeping one of his own. Together, they must navigate the pull that has never gone away, societal expectations and so many secrets from everyone else as they try to find out what happened to Seline. The narrator does a great job of representing the characters and adds a richness with the various voices, accents and emotions. Highly recommend the audiobook!
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

A great story with a lot of twists and turns and surprises. I did a review for the book itself so I won’t detail all of that here. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life and conveying the suspenseful elements of it.
