A Cowboy Kind of Love is a steamy, second chance romance. Taryn Hillman left without giving an explanation and left Jace Wilder broken hearted. Five years later, Taryn shows back up at Jace's doorstep knocking him for a loop. A drug kingpin has had Taryn in his grip for five years and she needs money to save her sister and her life of servitude. Picking right up where they left off, Taryn and Jace fall back in love and lust while Jace jumps on his white stallion to come riding to the rescue with his ex Navy Seal calvary of friends at his back. The cowboy theme is a little light on this one and Taryn is not my favorite heroine by a long shot. The story has a feel good HEA and is fast paced and action packed for an easy read. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

A rekindled romance. Taryn has come home to Clearview. She’s in big trouble and Jace and the rest of the tuff guys are ready to fight for her. Lots of action with a twist in the end.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you.

Five years ago Taryn disappeared from Jace’s life. After a night of drinking, Jace believes he seen her in his house but convinces himself that it wasn’t real. Taryn has been practically enslaved by a drug king, Boyd. She returns to her hometown to get money to get her and her sister out from under Boyd. She never considered she would run into Jace and him helping her. When Jace finally talks to Taryn, he is furious and hurt but she explains the heck she has lived these last five years. So Jace gathers his friends and come up with a plan to get Taryn’s sister back. Jace and Taryn realize how much they still love each other but will they have a future together?

Ok now listen, I know this probably makes no sense at all but I would highly recommend this book. You have action, suspense, and second chance love. Secrets and “oh crap” moments.

Jace and Taryn were madly in love with each other when suddenly Taryn up and left town unexpectedly, breaking Jace’s heart.
It’s been 5 years since Taryn left and Jace is still struggling with trying to forget her, when she returns just as mysteriously as she left.
Taryn is hiding a huge secret and in trouble, and with feelings as strong as ever between them, there is no way Jace can stay away.
I loved reading A cowboy kind of love. The romance and emotions are intense, the chemistry hot, the suspense kept you glued. I really didn’t see the twist coming and the author has done a superb job of keeping me hooked.
I really loved the bond between the friends and can’t wait for the next book.

This was another great release from Donna Grant!

It was an exciting and lovely romantic read and I adore this series

The book was written to please the avid reader and I found it to be an addictive story, so much so that I read it in an afternoon.

The characterisation was wonderful, the characters worked really well together and had some excellent interaction too.

It is 5 stars from me for this one, an excellent story – very highly recommended!

I received a complimentary copy of A Cowboy Kind of Love in exchange for an honest review. I read this as a standalone even though it's part of a series. I really enjoyed the beginning and the preface of the novel, and wandering what led Taryn to disappear for 5 years. I also thought there would be more of a storyline with Jace's excessive drinking.

However, this novel quickly deviated from small town cowboy to an impromptu and completely unrealistic military special forces op which led to the take down of a notorious drug pin. This was a complete switch and bate in plots, and was not appealing to me as a reader. Super disappointed..

It was great to get back to Clearview, TX, and meet up with all the gang. They do play a big part in here, but this can still read as a stand alone.
This is Jace and Taryn's journey. She and her family disappeared one night years ago, and even with resources, he couldn't track her down. He's hittin' rock bottom when he swears he saw her. Of course nothing can prepare him for what had really happened to her, now he's out for blood. Nothing is as it seems though, all his "brothers" are with him to form a plan, execute, and return safely.
A twisty mystery, with some heat I honestly could've skipped as there were things to get done.
I love journeys to the HEA. This one, while very good, took just a few detours, and lengthy explanations, that for me, slowed the flow. Still a very intriguing read.

A Cowboy Kind Of Love by Donna Grant – 4 Stars!

I loved this book – shorter than some – Second Chance Romance – Mystery – Suspense – Shoot Outs – oh my! Little racy with the sex scenes for anyone who doesn’t like that kind of thing, I don’t mind. One can dream right? Anyway, enjoyed the book. Had some interesting twists.

I received this book free through NetGalley.com. My words and opinions are my own freely given. #ACowboyKindofLove #NetGalley #DonnaGrant

I seem to be in the minority here, but I just didn't like this book very much. Maybe it's because it's the sixth book in a series that I hadn't read before, but I couldn't get behind the plot, nor the romance. Overall, this book just wasn't for me.

Loads of action and a sweet romance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing about this series, I wouldn’t go into thinking that it is simply a cowboy romance. These books, and this story, is so much more than that. This is a story about a group of ex-military guys that go all in to protect their own.
This book is not as much on the cowboy part as it is on the ex-military part. Protecting their own is number one for these guys and Jace is especially all in for this romance when we swears he saw Taryn in town again.
Grant loads this one full of secrets, long-lost loves, and a fat second chance romance wrapped around a crazy plot that drips of testosterone! This is a romantic suspense with a wild twist at the end that really blows your mind about family and friends!
Grant balances the right amount of romance to suspense which turns this book into an engrossing easy read that totally satisfies all of your senses! While Taryn was not a favorite character at certain points for me, Jace was a hottie that perfectly fit the bill. Kind, loving, uber protective, and a bit of a bad ass!
Fabulous story!
This is a very exciting suspense story. There's lots of action and surprises. Author Donna Grant has done a superb job of ratcheting up the tension as the storyline progresses. Definitely an edge-of-your-seat experience. I liked all the characters, especially the two main characters, Taryn Hillman and Jace Wilder. It was great getting to revisit the characters from the previous books in the Heart of Texas series.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
A Cowboy Kind of Love (Heart of Texas #6) by Donna Grant
First of all I loved this series... and this book was fantastic. It is Jace and Taryn's story and what a story it is .. they are in love then she disappears and then appears years later with a horrid secret. This book has angst, terror, evil, violence, bad guys, good guy, also old friends who always stand by each other, laughter, tears happy and sad, plenty of steam to get us to a very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Witty Great world building Romantic Scary Tragic Wonderful characters Tear-jerker Page-turner Entertaining Unpredictable Haunting Twisted Steamy Action-packed Easy-to-read Happily Ever After
I just never got into this even though it’s set up as a romance thriller. Maybe it’s because it’s established since before the book opens that Jace is deeply in love with Taryn except she mysteriously disappeared five years ago. Now we find out the back story and it’s completely horrible. But she meets up with Jace again and he is able to summon all his good buddies - a sort of Avengers team of super studly former military guys who can, within 24 hours, put together a plan to bring down the super scary drug kingpin who has basically enslaved Taryn for the past five years. And they all live in this same small Texas town and have almost all of them found badass women to marry. Imagine that.
The bad guys were suitably evil and the good guys were unbelievably talented and dedicated and good. It became almost cartoonish.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
Oh my, see...this right here? This is why I love a good cowboy read! A Cowboy Kind Of Love is a phenomenal contemporary cowboy romance. Jace is ex-military with the PTSD to prove it. Now he wonders if he's going crazy because he imagines seeing his girlfriend that disappeared years ago. Taryn's family was basically kidnapped and moved out of town and relocated because of her father's drug problem. Jace and Taryn's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. This book grabbed me and didn't let go until the end. I loved it and look forward to my next book by Donna Grant. A Cowboy Kind of Love is book 6 of the Heart of Texas Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Whoo boy, this was another really heavy book! And another Donna Grant novel where I loved the suspense part, but the romance just felt a bit…tepid.
I think my problem this time was with the main characters. I just could not bring myself to like Taryn at all. I wanted to shake her for most of the book and her decision making drove me up the wall! I did like Jace but it took me a while to warm up to him as well which, in a romance depending on the characters, wasn’t ideal. After the midway point though I did begin to really enjoy Jace as the hero and wanted him to get his HEA.
I’ll admit that second chance romances are always a bit of a struggle for me. I’m naturally a very bitter person and it takes a while for me to forgive anyone so I found myself against Taryn right from the start. The pain Jace feels right from the beginning is so vividly drawn that it’s hard to see Taryn’s side of things, even though her backstory is absolutely heart-breaking. There is a lot of dark stuff in her past that forces her choices and decisions and you can see why she makes them, even when you’re screaming at her to just trust in Jace!
It didn’t help that I couldn’t see any tension between the two either and the sex scenes were pretty bland to me. There was no build up. It was pretty similar to book 5 really in that everything happens so fast, they meet up again, they have sex, and then the plot takes over.
Gosh the story in this one was engaging though. That suspense! There is a lot playing out, with several different plots and twists that took me completely by surprise. The reveals had me glued to the page and I couldn’t wait to finish to find out how it all played out in the end.
A Cowboy Kind of Love is another fantastic fast-paced suspense novel that was a bit of a let down for me in the romance department. It was a good read, and a nice addition to the series, I just wish there was more time spent developing the connection between Jace and Taryn.
Love the cover! Sixth in a series and my second book of the series. Each can be read as a stand alone and blurb caught my eye!
What did I like? Second chance romance anyone? Jace can’t quite get over Taryn despite the years it’s been. After she left him with just basically a text he hasn’t recovered. Taryn has certainly bit off more than she can chew in this war with drug dealers as she tries to save what’s left of her family. She turns to Jace for help.
Would I recommend or buy? If you like ex military who still do investigative work then these seem to be a close knit bunch. Taryn was a hard female lead to like and the book I felt was a little hard to enjoy. If you’ve enjoyed the series you should read this book!
I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review. Three stars.
We are back in Clearview, TX where we have met some of the strongest cowboys, former military men, and the women they love.
This time the story belongs to Jace Wilder, a former POW and rodeo cowboy who fell in love with a woman that disappeared in the middle of the night never to be seen again. A woman that years later still haunts his dreams . The one he can’t forget.
Taryn Hillman is that woman. She left town after she and her family were forced to leave due to the fact that her father owed money to a drug king.
Determined to end the exile and find a way to pay the man back, she returns to town. Never expected to encounter Jace . A man that will do anything to help her and keep her safe.
This story is filled with bad guys, hunky good ones, and of course, romance.
Though it was not my favorite story the series and for me a 3.5 stars story, it was still entertaining.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
