A pretty standard "where do I belong' story. The illustrations are basic and easy enough to follow. Not a terrible read but nothing that will be especially compelling. Most suitable for young children.

I received an electronic ARC from Penguin Random House Canada through NetGalley.
Simple delivery of an important message that everyone has worth and a place. The book begins with a simplified explanation of how the world began and everything was formed - except one small thingamabob. No one can figure out what to do with this small blob until a young child begins to play with him. Thingamabob discovers it can be many things with a friend. In the end, it's just where it wants to be. Simple illustrations and easy to read text for young readers.

I would like to thank Marianna Coppo and Netgalley for providing an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review. Thingamabob follows the thingamabob who doesn’t fit in as no one can find a purpose for him. The picture book is easy to read for early readers and interesting. It explores topics of fitting in and accepting ourselves for who we are. The artwork correlates through the story well and can be an incentive for early readers to continue to read. Overall it was a cute picture book that has a great message, great execution and formatted in a way for early readers to enjoy reading.

Simple story that works in all the right ways. It starts with the big bang, and how everything was created but one thing that know one knew what to do with, or what to call. This thingamabob tried to find their niche, but came to realize that not being anything specific means you can be everything. This story is sweet and the illustrations lively and well executed.

Marianna Coppo has written another simple, yet very clever picture book. The Thingamabob doesn't have a specific purpose...and that is okay. It can mold and bend to be a friend. Great story and I love the use of color and grayscale in the illustrations.

Starting as one of the many "pieces" entering this world from the Big Bang, Thingamabob eventually ends up the only one without a specific purpose. Through others, though, he is able to discover he doesn't have to be just one thing, but can be many...including a friend! Simple illustrations along with very short text make this ideal for the youngest readers, yet many might need help understanding the underlying message of Big Bang theory concepts while parents and teachers may wish for a bit more depth of story.

Thank you NetGalley for the digital advance reading copy of this book.

What started with a big bang, (literally,) ended up being a delightful story about friendship and finding your place in the world! Great imagination!

This was a fun book, Thingamabob is so cute! The illustrations in this book are super simple, fun, and orange (my favorite color). Thingamabob is so good at being so many things, I am glad Thingamabob finally finds the thing it is best at.

This was such a cute book about everyone having a role in life and that even if we don't fit into a box, there will always be a place for us somewhere. I only wish that the book was longer. Looking forward to adding it to my classroom library! Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A sweet picture book that's fun to read, easy to follow, and heartwarming at the finish. Kids will enjoy the different shapes and sizes possible by the thingamabob as it transforms into a variety of objects. In a search to discover its true purpose, the thingamabob finds friendship and realizes the beauty in being able to be anything! With accessible pictures and writing, this book will be great for a variety of ages.

Thingamabob by Marianna Coppo tells the story of Thingamabob, a shapeless being that nobody knew exactly what it’s purpose was. The story begins with something akin to the Big Bang theory. There was one great big thing that exploded into many thingamabobs that became everything that we know about today, all except the one thing. It wasn’t even sure what it was supposed to be until it became a friend. Then it could be many things. If you aren’t one thing then you can be everything. This a cute story that would be a cute read aloud to younger students to talk about friendship and finding things that different people are interested in doing.

This is a cute children’s book that begins with simple version of The Big Bang Theory and the unresolved purpose of Thingamabob. After finding his friend, he comes to realize he doesn’t have A purpose, he has MANY!
Young children may have questions regarding “Creationism”. Children will benefit from discussions with Teachers, Therapists, and Parents that may help them understand how Thingamabob came to life and found he had many choices in his life.
