I know I shouldn't be but I was drawn in by the cover and the title. You have Willa a renowned millionaire author, Jackson her billionaire software geek next-door neighbor, and Casey the trust fund interior decorator. You start off with Willa being upset that someone stole her first novel and Jackson consoling her. Then you throw in Casey Jackson's best friend who he had a fling with. They soon become a threesome. They go on extravagant vacations as only the rich can. I just couldn't relate to Willa. I kept waiting for her to have a little more gumption and for Jackson or Casey to be a little more dominant. I excepted something a little more steamy. It just never got there for me. I liked the book but I just didn't love it.

I liked this book and I fought that the story was great but some things are keeping me from giving it 5 stars.
I give this book 3.5 stars but because it's not possible I'm giving it 3 stars.

First, one positive thing about this book is that it was easy to read and fast-paced, and it made you want to turn the page as fast as you could. However, I feel like this was a little too pronounced and it could sometimes feel like everything was happening too fast, especially some events that I would have liked to see more developed.

The second main thing is that the characters could sometimes lack depth. When I read, I personally like to be able to relate to the characters and it was hard for me to do so with this book because they seemed almost perfect in every way. They had problems in their lives but not it their personalities (which I'll admit is a weird reproach but when I see a character that is perfect, I feel like there is still a barrier between them and me). I'll explain : They were all rich and successful but none of them were arrogant or full of themselves. they were all genuinely kind and social... I would have liked to see a bit of shyness or a bit of brooding to make it more relatable.

All in all, this was a good book that I enjoyed reading but I wasn't able to immerse myself into the characters as much as I would have liked.

I feel like this book is about 3 shorts morphed into one full-length novel. In the beginning, you have the relationship set up. In the middle, you have their relationship life and the set up of some conflict. Lastly, you have the climax (lol, see what I did there) and the HEA set up. However, the voice of each part of the book seems to be so incredibly different from the other parts.

For example, in the first third, we have Willa meeting Jackson and also meeting Casey. It is very much insta-love for everyone, and I found a lot of the dialogue to be a bit “See Jane run” choppy in places. I wanted a little more tension and build up to the relationship and especially in the sex scenes here. In romance books, even the smutty ones, I like what I call “the Ross and Rachel.” Give me buildup and tension for a bit before throwing M/Cs into bed together and immediately saying they love each other. (Unless it is a short that is just a one-night smutathon.) Dial it back just a bit. Not everything has to happen at warp speed in a full length novel.

Let’s talk about the middle of the book. It’s here that I think the author gets into “the zone” and really relaxes and seems like she enjoyed writing this. The threesome scenes get notably hotter here. The dialogue between the three seems more realistic and flows easier. The only beef I had with the middle of the book is that there was almost too much detail regarding the long vacation they took. I feel like that could have been trimmed a bit and I’m not sure a couple of chapters dedicated to heliskiing was really necessary. I loved the sex scenes in this part of the book and wanted more of those. Smokin’ hot. As mentioned, I feel like the author really blossomed here and even found myself looking on Pornhub to see if one thing she wrote was even possible. Turns out it is. I can admit when I learn something new, so bravo.

The back third of the book really gets us going as to the the conflict and the tech blackmail part of the story. There’s some suspense, and it’s able to keep the reader’s attention well. I found myself really hoping for the villain’s comeuppance. The author moves back into some of the choppier flow of the early part of the book, but the plot picks up so it’s not as noticeable here.

All in all, this is a solid read if you can get past the quick-moving relationship building and bumpy start.

The last thing I have to remark on for the book is the cover. I’d really like to see a different cover on there. Willa seems to look like she is described in the book. I’m not bothered by the two guys, nor the necklace or anything like that. If anything, the necklace draws your eyes a bit away from what I call “the problem” with the cover. The floating hand gets me every time. I mean…there’s just a floating hand that is supposed to look like Jackson is escorting her somewhere. It doesn’t look natural though. I Can’t. Stop. Looking. At. It.

❤️❤️❤️
💋💋💋

The overall idea and storyline was enjoyable, but it seemed to swing from all action, wether bedroom or other, to nothing of importance happening.
Filler is a killer as far as I’m concerned and it felt like pages of it at times.

Steamy scenes were quite good, but passion was lacking so was depth in the characters and chemistry.
It had so much promise in the plotting, it just didn’t deliver for me.
I wish I could give a better review but for me it was just ok .

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

I read my first Talix book back in August 2020. I will say that these are the better written erotica books I have read. There is some semblance of a plot and attempt at character development outside the bedroom. I maintain that the spicy scenes are on point and the best written of the erotica I've read. I love that the story doesn't have an insane amount of pet name vomit everywhere. It makes it way less cringe.

I have the same feelings towards this one as I did The Rule of 3. I did not like the inconsistent pacing and time jumps. Although there is some development of the characters to make them seem more than just objects that wanna hump each other, it's still not enough for me to really connect with them or want to root for them. The events in this definitely were hard for me to suspend my disbelief and enjoy outside of the bedroom. I will also say that had I not read the other book, I may have also rated this story 3 stars, but I felt there was a formula being followed with the wealth and status, guy best friends, and instalove. It felt too similar to the other story.

This book is a quick read. It's enjoyable so don't think that I hated it. It's definitely a good palate cleanser :)

Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Review: just Curious is an erotic romance novel featuring a throuple in a committed polyamorous relationship. It follows Willa, Jackson and Casey as they embark on this exploration together. I really like that the plot to smut ratio was well done, and all came to a satisfying conclusion. A fun, steamy read with lots of drama!

Just Curious by Ariella Talix. A new to me author that I'll check out more books by.
A very spicy storyline that has a little of everything and a lot of steam.

This was such a great read! I was so curious about 'Just Curious" and it did not disappoint.

Willa, Jackson and Casey are involved in a triad relationship. I really loved the character of Willa, who overcame a difficult past to be a bold and strong woman not afraid to go after what she wants out of life. The characters are well written and their personalities well developed over the course of the book. There is a fun mystery subplot that helps to solidify the triad relationship. This book delves into an emotional and sexual relationship involving three very different people, with very different personalities, who at the end of the day just want to be committed to each other in a loving and healthy relationship.

The premise was good and the story arc was very well thought out however there wasn’t any depth with the characters. I found it very hard to believe the characters & their chemistry with each other. The steamy scenes were ok & would have been more intense if the characters were able to be developed more. I think because there was so much to cover in the whole story some elements were lost.

Thank you to Netgalley & publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

This MMF book was a very steamy read that was well written with characters that were so well defined that the interaction and chemistry between Willa, Jackson and Casey kept me totally enthralled throughout the entire book!

Just Curious is a mix of romance and suspense that kept my interest from the first page to the very end. There is plenty of heat and lots of adventure for these three lovable characters. It's not easy to put this book down- especially the second half. Wow!

Willa has a tragic background, but it hasn't kept her from being ready to take on the world. She is sexy and bold. I like that in a FMC. Jackson is adorably protective and richer than he knows what to do with, though he gradually figures that part out. His best friend Casey is a hoot. Put them all together and you have one really fun story! They are all wonderful, smart, and creative characters.

I highly recommend this book.

What a fun, exciting story to read.

A menage, that develops, with true feelings of love and commitment, with the story of a writer who has not one, but two manuscripts stolen. Along with the malicious intrusion and deceit, that is aimed at her and her billionaire tech boyfriend and the art designer boyfriend in their triad relationship.

They are challenged by the stealing fake agent and her nerdy computer hacking boyfriend who has aided her. This adds a bit of mystery and intrigue, before they are both investigated and sentenced to a long and extensive jail term.

With a happy ever after ending, in this romantic story of love, commitment, happiness, family and babies for the most wonderful, joyous future they can share together.
