Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for providing me with this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Man, I love these books and these characters. I have been reading Karen Rose since I was in junior high and have yet to be disappointed in any of them. She is so creative with her villains, and this Sacremento series based on a religious cult is no different.

Liza and Tom are two beloved characters from previous books (and our little Tom is all grown up now!), and I loved their story. It was definitely a friends-to-lovers romance, which can be hit or miss for me, but Karen Rose always manages to suck me into the story.

My only con, if you can truly call it that, is that this book seemed to focus a lot more on wrapping up the cult storyline from the previous two books than on their romance. I don't think the characters effectively managed to communicate with each other until about the 60% mark or so, which is definitely a change from most of her previous books. However, I understand this was to set everything in place for the finale, and since they already knew each other, it didn't feel like any true relationship development was missing. If that's the only reason you're reading this book, though, you might be disappointed in that.

Me? I was so invested in seeing the people from the cult brought down that I didn't have time to be disappointed. Karen Rose has been one of my favorite romantic suspense authors for years, and will definitely continue to be with her solid representation of so many types of people from all walks of life, her attention to detail in crafting her plots and villains, and her red-hot romances. I've been with a lot of these characters for half of my life, and it makes me so happy to see them happy. I can't wait to see what Karen Rose will do next.

Whew, this trilogy ended with a bang! I really enjoyed the trajectory of how the story of Eden came to a close, but for me, the romance was really the star of the show. I love a slow burn romance and a friends to lovers trope, and Liza & Tom have been dancing around each other for 10 years. I'm not normally one for angst, but this one angsted so good - I especially appreciate that we join their story right when Liza has reached her breaking point, and we get to see her making hard decisions to move towards what she wants & needs. All around, strong suspense plot and strong romance- a worthy ending to the trilogy

The evil of Eden rears its ugly head once again in Say Goodbye by Karen Rose.

This is a convoluted suspense story with lots of tension and surprises and a wonderful Happily Ever After. Liza Barkley has recently left the army. She was a combat medic. Liza decided to enhance her career opportunities by attending UC Davis for a masters degree in nursing. Her nursing career choice was due to the death of her mother from cancer and the murder of her older sister. Liza has a strong nurturing streak so she picked the perfect career. When she was seventeen she met Tom Hunter while searching for her sister. They became fast friends. Liza knew she loved Tom from the first she met him. Tom was twenty at the time and felt he was too old for seventeen-year-old Liza. Upon graduating from high school Liza joined the army and their relationship was stuck on friendship.

Meanwhile Tom Hunter went on to become a famous NBA basketball player. After a few years with the team Tom retired from basketball and became a FBI agent. His best skills happen to be computer hacking, so quite a good fit with the FBI. In this book Tom is working on trying to find the location of the Eden cult. Some former members from the cult who escaped are being targeted by cult member DJ Belmont who is a cold-blooded killer,

This is book #3 in this author's Sacramento series. While it can be read as a standalone I would suggest at least reading book #2, Say No More, in order to have a better understanding of the evilness of the cult, the characters who escaped the evil and how everyone works together to try to find Eden to stop the evil. I very much enjoyed this storyline which was filled with lots of action. This was a true page-turner.

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

As usual, Karen Rose delivers a steamy romance and tense mystery rolled into a great read! This was a great ending for the series.

I was so excited for this book and I loved staying on edge. I couldn’t put this book down and will definitely re read it, it’s so good. I’ve read every Karen Rose book and she’s one of the few authors that I re read over and over. She’s the queen of romantic suspense. Will they ever find Eden? It’s a cult and this story starts off with Hayley and Graham being forced into Eden by their Mother. I went through so many emotions.loved that we get Tom Hunter all grown up. He was always so smart, why is he clueless to his feelings about Liza? Everyone else seems to know. Can he keep her safe? She’s in the cross hairs of D.J. and he’s obsessed with wanting to kill Liza, Gideon and Mercy plus wanting all of Pastor’s money. What a wild story. Thankfully there’s a very happy ever after. Loved the conclusion to this series. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Karen Rose finishes this arc in spectacular fashion - bringing back fan favorite, Tom Hunter, getting a glimpse of some of Karen's earliest couples, and teaming Tom up with Liza Barkley who is fabulous. It takes a while for the bodies to start building up in this one, which is different but allows for more character development in the early chapters. I can't wait to see where Karen goes from here.

I love the Sacramento story so much, I hope there’s more coming!! Ickkk

You could read this book as a stand alone, but I promise it’s worth the massive number of pages to read Say You’re Sorry and Say No More prior to this one.

I started being obsessed with this series because of Daisy and Gideon but I noticed each book has a different relationship focus and I wasn’t mad that we didn’t get lots of Daisy and Gideon action. The relationship part of this books was more focused on FBI Special Agent Tom Hunter and his best friend, best friend, ex-Army combat medic Liza Barkley. This story line kept me going! Although, if you are looking for steamy romantic suspense, this one isn’t it. There was less “steam” than usual, but trust me, it was still SO GOOD!

Another amazing thing about this book is we finally got an “ending” with Eden, the cult that Gideon and Mercy are from.

I’m heavily invested in the characters at this point and absolutely love the thriller and romance aspect of these books! Can’t say enough good things about this series! A Must-read!
