Now this book kept me on the edge of my seat, it had so many twists and turns my head was spinning!
Alice and her boyfriend Leo just purchased a home in the private gated community of the Circle in Finsbury London. Alice isn’t excited she really didn’t want to leave her cottage behind but she wants a future with Leo so she agrees. At the housewarming party Alice begins to feel like the woman that live in the Circle are distant towards her, when she finds out a man she showed around the house at the party wasn’t who he said he was and no one knows who he was she begins to wonder what’s going on. Soon she discovers that the woman Nina who previously lived there was brutally murdered she was a therapist , and her husband was charged. Soon Alice begins to obsess over the crime and soon realizes there are dark secrets that are hidden behind the white picket fences of the community, and everyone is hiding a secret. At night Alice begins to feel like someone is watching her while she sleeps, is she delusional and paranoid or is someone intent on keeping the secrets hidden? The book alternates between Alice and an unknown therapist and soon you will be shocked and have to pick your jaw up off the ground! Five stars!

Secrets.....those we keep and those we share. But what if someone knew all of your secrets, and your neighbors. BA Paris has always done an excellent job of building suspense and this narrator takes it to a higher level. We hear the tension, the anger, the confusion, every emotion is displayed as we see the open book of neighborhood gossip and rumors turned truth. WOW!

My mom and I read this together. It was amazing. The setting was very tight knit. It was nerve wracking. We are now huge fans of B.A. Paris.

I absolutely loved this book! I've been a huge fan of B.A. Paris ever since reading Behind Closed Doors, and The Therapist was every bit as captivating and twisted as I was hoping it would be. I was immediately intrigued by the both the central relationship and the neighborhood dynamic. For fans of neighborhood dramas, put this one at the top of your list!

Thank you for the opportunity to read The Therapist. I am so, so sad to say that I am unable to finish reading this book. B.A. Paris quickly became one of my favorite authors with her blockbuster debut novel "Behind Closed Doors". Unfortunately, I just could not get into this story and it just did not hold my attention. Due to my not reading the book to completion, I will not be leaving a review on any retail sites as I would not be able to give a fair assessment. Thank you again for my advanced reading copy.

B.A. Paris is one thriller writer who never disappoints. The Therapist kept me guessing right up until the end. Numerous times throughout the book, I thought that I had figured out who killed Nina, only to discover that I was incorrect again and again. I enjoyed the flashes to the past from the POV of the therapist--this added an interesting look at background as the story progressed. Her strong writing skills weave a story full of thrills and suspense.

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in The Circle, a gated community of exclusive houses, it is everything they’ve dreamed of. But appearances can be deceptive… Why was this new house such a steal? What DOESN't Alice know about her new house? And who is Nina?

Alice becomes obsessed with trying to figure out what happened before she moved in. But it seems that everyone is intent on keeping her from finding out. I thought this story was just....ok. Yeah, I wanted to know what the hell was going on. But it was the kind of book where the characters were infuriating and I just flipped through to the end to figure it out. I'm usually a pretty big BA Paris fan, but this one was just a hard pass for me.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

B.A. Paris is a masterful writer of psychological suspense and I knew I would be in for a treat. Her latest novel, The Therapist does not disappoint.

We meet couple Alice and Leo a couple who purchase a house in The Circle. The residents of this community were very nice but a little too nice. Alice, in my opinion, is extremely high strung, and when she finds out a secret tied to her house and her new neighbors, she goes down this long and complicated rabbit hole. Alice and Leo's relationship suffers because of Alice and her relentless pursuit of the truth.

B.A. Paris has this way of crafting stories in a way that has you questioning everyone and everything. I figured out the secret at the same time as Alice. I was just as shocked as Alice. In the end, I still had some unanswered questions but not enough to be unsettled by the ending. The Therapist is a great page-turner for those who like psychological thrillers.

I can’t believe I’ve only started to read B.A. Paris’ books this year! So, this is why The Therapist is my only second read from her. But, wow once again she didn’t disappoint!

This book definitely got me out of my reading slump! I love all the twists and turns and by the middle of the book it definitely had me on the edge of my seat with a little creepiness. I mean who wouldn’t be creeped out with the thought of being watched in your home?

It’s a true ‘whodunit’ thriller that takes place in a small gated community called The Circle. It’s told from the POV of Alice with a few chapters from the past. It was a faced paced read for me with an ending I didn’t see coming!

Thank you so much to @stmartinspress and @baparisauthor for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of The Therapist by B.A. Paris. All opinions are my own.

This is another favorite author of mine that I recently struggled with. I found this to be a little dull in comparison to Paris's other work. I struggled to get into it but am (admittedly) in a reading slump at the moment. I'm hoping to reread at a later time and enjoy it more.

B.A. Paris is a thriller author I really enjoy. So the moment I saw she was coming out with a new book I had to request it I ended up not looking up anything about this book. I was so excited to pick it up because I've found B.A. Paris does a great job writing thillers. However this book fell flat for me.

The story is about Alice. She has just moved into a new home with her boyfriend in a gated community. She soon learns that she doesn't know everything there is to know about the house. She then become obsessed with discovering what actually happened in her home.

I'm so sad about this book. I just found the story to be so repetitive. We kept being told the same thing over and over again. I found myself getting so bored. A part of me wanted to dnf this book but I figured I'd stick it out and find out what actually happened.

Also this story is told between the past and present. I don't really want to go into too much detail about this. I'm trying not to spoil things. However I just felt like the past was super unnecessary. I feel like it really didn't add anything to the story until the very end. So wasn't really sure why that was included.

Overall I'd say to check out B.A. Paris's earlier work. She is a great author but this one wasn't it.

The Therapist by B.A. Paris is a thriller set in a small and exclusive neighborhood in London. Alice and Leo have just moved into the community. Alice is working on making connections and friends with her neighbors but she senses there's something going on that people aren't telling her about. She digs deep with the aid of a PI to find out exactly what the residents of her neighborhood are hiding. Read and enjoy!

I enjoyed it! Kept me guessing. It wasn’t GREAT but I loved the other books by this author so my expectations were very high. I found the dialogue to be a bit forced sometimes like it wasn’t stuff people actually say. I suspected who the killer would be but I wasn’t sure until the end

Sometimes I like to read books that are not too convoluted and are an easy enjoyable read. The story was interesting enough to keep my attention. The characters were quite well developed and I enjoyed the pace of the book itself. I think this is my first book by B.A. Paris but it won't be my last.

Loved this book! The story had me guessing until the very end!
When Alice and Leo move into The Circle, an exclusive gated community, their lives change.
Alice meets her neighbors, and questions their motives.
She's still hurting from the death of her sister named Nina. When she discovers that their new home is the place where a woman named Nina has been murdered, and the murder is unsolved, Alice becomes obsessed with finding the killer.
This story is a cozy-type mystery. It's an enjoyable read - reminding you that people are not always as they seem!

This was a fun beach read. I enjoyed this book. The only thing I didn't like was Alice's OBSESSION. It made her a little too odd to like at the end. The pacing is great, the twists were great and over all a fun book.

This was fun! BA Paris has never disappointed! Read this one quickly. Recommended if you enjoy a thriller that’s a quick read.

B.A. Paris has become one of my go-to authors for emotional dramas that have enough suspense tied in to kept you turning the pages, but also don't feel so"out there" that they felt unbelievable. All in all, this was a great escape read and I really enjoyed the "neighborhood suspense" aspect.

The plot line wasn't anything mind blowing, but was a great book to read by the pool this summer. This wasn't my favorite B.A. Paris book, but it was an easy read that kept me entertained, and right now, that is a reading win!

Thank you St. Martins' Press for my gifted review copy. As always, my thoughts and opinions are my own.
