I received a free ebook of Complications by Danielle Steel in exchange for a honest review.I really enjoyed this fast paced action filled novel by an author whose many books I have read over the years.Gabrielle is a art dealer who travels to Paris to stay at a renovated hotel that her and her ex-husband had always stayed at.While there, she meets a doctor Allistair who has received bad news about his health.The first night they are there they help a man in cardiac arrest and on the same floor a man dies after a encounter with a government official This book has many secrets.and twist and turns .I really enjoyed the character development and think you will too.

This is a typical Steel book, likable characters and a good story line. It is set in Paris, New York and London. A newly renovated exclusive hotel in Paris has just reopened and we are introduced to the main characters. If you are looking for an entertains read you will enjoy this book. This is a fairly typical Danielle Steel book. I was drawn to the story for the international locations and the chance to ‘travel in my mind’ to the cosmopolitan cities of Paris, London, and New York. The main character is a divorced woman looking to rebuild her life after the unexpected unravelling of her marriage, which is also a theme she’s written about many times before. In other Danielle Steel fashion, there is plenty of rambling prose with repetitive story elements, something that seems more common in her later work.

I enjoyed the story enough and found it to be a quick read. All in all, I was grateful for the escape.

This provides a look into a variety of lives and the issues that are impacting their lives as well as how they are working to deal with them. Set in three primary cities London, Paris and New York. In Paris Hotel Louis XVI is a world famous hotel that has been closed and undergoing renovations for the past 4 years. The reopening is finally happening and opening week is unpredictable to say the least. A very public affair with a much younger woman by her husband causes a well regarded art consultant, Gabrielle, to retreat into a very private life. She is slowly returning to herself when she spends a memorable two weeks at her favorite the Louis XVI hotel in Paris.. The multitude of events leads Gabrielle to begin an unexpected friendship with another guest, Alastair. He has his own secrets and they dictate his life path to what he believes to be almost over due to a debilitating illness. It was interesting up until about the halfway mark, and then it just became repetitive and, to tell the truth, predictable and boring. That being said, the hidden message of living life to its fullest resonates more recently than maybe in the past.. During a time where our world has shrunk to our neighborhoods, remaining positive and refusing to give in, helps sustain our dreams. Life can be complicated but through adversity we find ourselves.

Always my favorite, Danielle Steel writes another fabulous book centered between New York, London and Paris. Why is it that every time I read one of her novels, I'm itching to travel? She does each locale so much justice!

I love this author , this book was pretty good I really enjoyed it . It kept me engrossed from start to finish. I highly recommend it. It was very good.. I have read most of Danielle Steeles books and I like almost all of them . I would say this one rates high up there. I think that the characters are well developed and the storyline is as well.

I am a fan of the Danielle Steele. In Paris, the famous Louis XVI hotel has just been refurbished and accepting clients again. But the first evening that the hotel is open. the management realizes that anything can happen, and everything does. An art consultant, who has gone through a horrible divorce arrives at the hotel and is surprised to find new love—if she is willing to risk her heart again. A guest with a serious health diagnosis contemplates ending his life, and saves a life instead. A couple finds their once-in-a-lifetime trip interrupted by a medical emergency. One of the hotel’s most high-profile guests, a French politician, holds a mysterious meeting that will threaten his life and career. I loved the story and as always, Danielle Steele never disappoints.

This is going to be a very short review.

I have always heard wonderful things about Danielle Steels writing, but this is the second book I have read by her, and I must say I was not impressed. Perhaps her early work was wonderful; I don't know as I don't remember reading anything by her when I was young. With 179 books under her belt, including more than 146 novels, there must be something out there I would love!

This was a short book, and it had a lot of potentials. It was interesting up until about the halfway mark, and then it just became repetitive and, to tell the truth, predictable and boring.

Oliver the new man in charge is set to begin what he hopes is a long and respected career in this hotel’s management. Yvvone his second in command sets a cool and assured presence. These two will be tested in ways no hotel course could prepare them. The Louis is home to few but known to many for its descretion, a truth that will be used by a politician with a secret life. An American fresh from divorce and restarting her life as an art consultant is using a trip to France to set a new path. A doctor devoted at home in England to his patients is dealing with shocking health news of his own on his own terms. A couple determined to start a new life together after the demolition of two lives left behind are celebrating their new lives together. These are the threads that will spool together and intersect. In true Steele style lives intersect, characters interface,and lovers entwine. Each will bear the reality that is the life they began when they met at the Louis XVI Hotel.

Danielle Steel is still going strong. Her most recent books have just blown me away. She seemed to be failing and I had almost given up on her as an author, but she seems to have regenerated and come back strong. I absolutely loved this book and am currently rereading it again! I have read everyone of Danielle Steel ‘s novels. But
I was about to give up on Complications.
The novel starts with a very long and boring back story of the newly renovated Louis XVI hotel in Paris. It was not entertaining.
But I’m glad I continued because I found some really great characters that met at the hotel.
There was a series of emergencies that took place- and the characters had complicated stories to tell. It all worked out very well and I can say I enjoyed another book by Ms.Steel.

These 5 guests and the Hotels new manager Olivier Bateau and his new assistant Yvonne Philippe after an eventful first night after the grand reopening of the Hotel Louis XVI. This is a must read for Danielle Steel fans!

I always enjoy a good Danielle Steel story and this was no exception. It revolved around a famous high quality hotel in Paris, a divorcee, a politician, and a doctor plus this families. The story around the hotel was interesting in itself, but add in the wonderful characters and it was an outstanding novel. I especially liked Gabrielle and Alaistair's story.

I haven’t read a Danielle Steele novel in many years, but I need to read more of them. I love the peek into the rich and famous and their lives that her novels provide. She is a gifted storyteller and can transport the reader into the lives of these amazing characters. I don’t usually like books about the elite or wealthy characters, but Danielle does such a good job of making them relatable and human, that I don’t mind her books.

This book took some time to get into, the author takes her time setting up the scenes and the characters before the action gets started. But, once it starts this is a fast read. The writing is very good, and the book flows nicely.

I recommend this book to anyone wanting an escape into a world most of us know nothing about.

I've read several books by this author and have always enjoyed everything I've read, so I was looking forward to reading this book. I must say it didn't disappoint. This book was easy to read and fast paced and kept me wanting to read more. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoy Danielle Steele's books and like it as a quick read in between other reads. I had a hard time with this one even though the story was similar to her old writing. Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for this ARC but all thoughts are my own.
