I’ve recently discovered this series and if you haven’t read the first 6 books, find them now and then read this one. This is book 7 and just as fresh writing as the first 6, actually I think the books are just getting better and better! I love this book just as much as I loved all the rest!

Starting the story with a wedding was a nice beginning, but to have 3 couples getting married was awesome. After the ceremony, they all celebrated New Year's as well. Maggie and Bo are one of the couples. Her mother has a problem with a man who runs a new restaurant. He steals people's recipes and passes them off as his own. Her mother gets upset and ends up in jail. Then someone else steals money from a business bank account. Then more weird things happen and a couple of murders. I always love to look and try recipes at the end of a story. The book had an exciting plot line and great recipes from Louisiana. This was a great story and gives a look into the food and life in the south.

In Maggie Doucet Durand's own words "I'm perfectly fine except for one of our guests might be a killer, I may have a stalker, Doucet is in trouble, and I've lost whatever artistic talent I one had." The latest installment in the Cajun Country Mysteries is a binge worthy read: from the long awaited wedding of our heroine and her personal hero to the tear worthy epilogue. Ellen Byron make me want to visit Pelican and all of her inhabitants with every page!

This is the seventh novel in the Cajun Country series and possibly the last. I always enjoy visiting Maggie and her family along with the rest of Pelican. This entry in the series is no exception. The mystery this time involves a New Orleans chef, Phillippe, opening a new restaurant in Pelican, bringing chaos and murder with him. A lot happens to Maggie's personal life in this story, but I thought Ellen Bryon did a great job of weaving the murder mystery with the other happenings in Pelican. The murder mystery was well-done and not easy to solve. If this is the end, I'll be very sad to see the characters go because I love every book in this series.

A new restaurant is about to open in the city of Pelican, but its owner dies in a very suspicious boat accident. Maggie Crozat, our protagonist, begins to investigate on her own, while also working in an exhibition and taking classes with a famous artist.
I had to Google what the title's "Cajun" is ... and found out that it is an ethnic group that lives in the Louisiana and Texas area of the United States. I learned a lot of new terms from this book, mainly food. At the end of the book there are recipes of the foods mentioned in the story.
This is the 7th book in the Cajun Country Mystery series, but you don't need to have read the previous ones. I had fun trying to find out who was the culprit before the end - and I couldn't discover it!

another good story in the series. if you like the other books you need to read this one, once again someone is trying to spook her , in this one a famous chief is killed but by who and why. lots of suspects and some are her friends , if you have are have not read any of the other books you will enjoy reading this one. well written who will like the older couples , there was a triple wedding at the start of the book, you have to read it to see you they are, i read the book in one day could not put it down i was given a copy of the book by ;netgalley but this is an honest review

This is such a fabulous series, filled with family, food, an amazing setting and the occasional murder. Ellen Byron continues her amazing storyline of life in Pelican, Louisiana, by celebrating the joint wedding of three main couples, including Maggie and Bo. As the story’s protagonist, Maggie’s delighted that her life is just about perfect all the way around and she’s looking forward to her first Valentine’s Day as a married woman.
As that day approaches, Pelican Bay is about to take the larger culinary world by storm with the opening of a new restaurant by famed chef, Phillippe Chanson. When Phillippe and his crew arrive, there’s a lot of personality to go around. As tensions heat up in the Chanson team, Phillippe is making no new friends as he steals and recreates locally renowned recipes from Pelican favorites. When a suspicious death is deemed a murder, Maggie knows it’s up to the Pelican community to solve the crime before her lovely hometown is permanently is permanently labeled as undesirable.

Murder On The Menu...
The seventh in the Cajun Country Mystery series and, despite Valentines, murder is on the menu rather than love when a celebrity chef perishes in suspicious circumstances and Maggie’s friend becomes a suspect along with Maggie’s own mother. Furthermore, what are the disturbing, anonymous gifts that have started arriving for Maggie and who has sent them? Enjoyable reading with a colourful cast of characters. A worthy addition to the series.

Cajun Kiss of Death starts on a momentous wedding day. Not with one blissful couple, but with a trio of couples. And then, we get underway in Pelican, Louisiana. Valentine's Day is around the corner, and preparations for the festivities are underway, as well as the opening of a new Cajun themed restaurant by owner Phillippe Chanson. Maggie wonders if Pelican can use another restaurant or if it will drive Junie’s Oyster Bar and Dance Hall out of business. Chef Phillippe shows no remorse when he steals another chef’s recipe and offers oysters below market value. Stacking up resentment before even unlocking the doors, it's no wonder when he meets his untimely demise. Maggie and her new husband, Bo, have their hands full sorting through the suspects—friends, foes, and family.

Cajun Kiss of Death is a nicely plotted mystery. I enjoyed the discovery and elimination of suspects as the story unfolded. Coming late to the Pelican mystery series, I felt over-loaded with the number of named characters and had a hard time sorting through them. Now that I know it was the seventh in the series and the finale, I quite understand. I live close enough to Louisiana to appreciate the setting, the culture, and the food. Bravo, Ellen.

This book was enjoyable to read. It takes place in a quaint Cajun town in Louisiana. The characters were likeable, and the plot was good. This is the first Cajun Country mystery I've read, and I look forward to reading more. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers.

It’s always sad when a series you love comes to what appears to be an end. Sometimes you are disappointed with the ending and sometimes you are left fulfilled and saddened. I will say this one left me fulfilled, saddened and shedding a few tears.

I could not have asked for a better ending to this series. But who knows, maybe the author will be given an order for more books after some time apart from her own beloved fictional town of Pelican. With that, I will say, “J'espère te revoir bientôt” I hope to see you again soon. xoxo

Cajun Kiss of Death is the latest Cajun Country Mystery written by Ellen Byron, set to launch in August 2021. Maggie and Bo are newly married, and they are remarking how they've had way too many murders in Pelican, Louisiana the last few years; they never should've talked about it. Soon after, a competitor to Junie's restaurant opens and causes havoc around town. When the celebrity owner is found murdered, several locals looks guilty, given how the man had treated them. Maggie knows it was an outsider, but how can she prove it?

Byron always brings in the flavor. You will feel like you're in Louisiana, savoring the delicious food and soaking in the culture. Her family is present, especially since Gran was also just married. The newcomers are a mixed crew; some are nice, several are rude and insensitive. The cast is varied and gives us a lot to work with. I enjoy the balance the author brings in providing such diversity and humor in all the relationships. The background is well worth it... you learn and get to take a trip from your home (and that's important in today's world).

As for the mystery, it's a classic case of new chef/owner grates on several people's nerves. He steals recipes; he has an ex-wife and a new girlfriend. His friends seem like they suck up to him but dislike him. An angry author is writing a book that's being whitewashed. Which one had it out for the guy? I thought I knew, but then that person end up dead too... so there was an additional layer of suspense. Toss in Maggie's foray back into artistry and her two-day stint in waitressing, and you've got a well-rounded book to enjoy.

Stop reading my review here if you don't want a spoiler about the end. I'm not revealing the killer but I might be saying more than you want to know... okay... last chance... given how this book ended, I assume it means it will be the last in the series. In the epilogue, we flash-forward two decades and learn what's happened to our favorite Crozat crew. I'd seen an article somewhere that mentioned it was the last book but I didn't believe it, as the author is popular and only just started a second series. Either way, it was a nice way to end the collection, but I will definitely miss the Cajun Country mysteries. There is room to write more, yet I can also see the author wanting to keep up sharing a new cast of characters. Kudos to her for making me a fan since the beginning.

I enjoy this series, and I was not disappointed with this book. Maggie and Bo finally tie the knot, but its not long before they find themselves wrapped up in another murder investigation.
I was surprised by the ending, it appears that this is the last book in the series.

I'm not too sure about this 1, it's definitely a good read, But just not 1 of my top favorites! It was filled with suspense, drama, Intrigue And was definitely a decent read. I usually love any book Based in the bayou, and like I said this book was good , decent storyline just not my all time favorite! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Meanwhile a famous chef opens a new swanky restaurant in town, stealing recipes from local places and Maggie's mom. When he ends up dead in a boat explosion there's no shortage of people who wanted him dead.
And there's someone stalking Maggie and sending her creepy gifts. Maggie's friend and her high school ex boyfriend are suspects- but can she find the real killer before one of them ends up in jail for a murder they didn't commit?
Maggie really comes into her own in this book, with her personal life and her painting. And we get a glimpse of the future in the epilogue- I'm sad to think that it might be the last book in the series.

I loved this installment of the Cajun series! From the opening scenes to the last I was completely caught up in the story. All the characters shine and there isn't a second of boredom. I eagerly await the next books.
