This book is a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. It is so refreshing to see romance blossom between two women! The slowly built relationship between the two is predictable but it's so sweet and adorable that you don't mind it. I loved the adventures that they go together. The only thing that bothered me was the need that both protagonists needed a dead mom to be able to relate to each other. But overall this is the perfect summer read.

I’m feeling nostalgic for a summer I’ve never experienced after setting this book down. The perfect representation of teen romance and the perfect summer plan. Emily’s character grapples with loss, loneliness, grief, and self discovery, showing a beautiful story arch. Her character reclaims the facets of her personality that have been lost due the her grieving the loss of her mother. I found myself wanting to be friends with her summer side kick Blake Carter, who pushes her out of her comfort zone allowing for growth and self discovery. My one wish is that the relationship between her and her father had been further flushed out to understand his unwillingness to unpack his own grief. A perfect fun summer read, best enjoyed with a cold milkshake by the beach! With a little luck, perhaps it may even inspire more people to plan their summer bucket list!
