I was so excited to see this book on NetGalley. I have a ten week old puppy and just knew I'd find some good tips inside. There were some issues on the front end with the formatting of the book and the publisher was very responsive in getting a good copy to me so that I could read and review it.

There were definitely several good tips included. However, it seemed to me that a majority of the information was somewhat common sense. I could have perceived it this way because I've had dogs before. Perhaps it would be more helpful for those who are truly first-time pet owners.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

This is an excellent book for beginners with new dogs. We have 4 dogs and I found this book to be extremely helpful and informative. There are several areas of training measures that I will be able to implement now that it has been brought to my attention that I have definitely been doing it the incorrect way.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for for a good book to help with getting there animals under control.

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Not only is this book a huge disappointment, it is a waste of money for anyone that has ever spent anytime in a room with a dog. Much of the book is incoherent and the formatting and basic editing is absent. Even with an editor, this book just goes no where.

Anyone and become a 'certified trainer'. Literally, ANYONE. (I looked up the author's 'school', and it is a program, in length of a few weeks to a year, completed remotely.)

The author gives her opinions which aren't even based in scientific or research fact. Anyone that has ever owned or tried to train a dog will tell you that all dogs are different and respond differently to different methods. Some of the assertions aren't even logical.

Please, please, please- if you are looking for a book to help train a dog- look for one that is written by a true expert. This book is not going to help.

I hate writing a negative review, but I am even more offended that someone would claim to have knowledge that they clearly do not possess.

I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
