While Holiday Hills may be a magical town, the himans who live there are unaware of its nature. That is, until lately when strange events are happening for everyone to see. And this makes Abby Odell wary. Perhaps the roots of these strange events can be traced back hundreds of years. Overall it's an amusing cozy with the tongue in cheek profession of the heroine as a writer of paranormal cozies.

📖My Thoughts📖

What a cute and fun book! I’m a complete sucker for cozy mystery books that involve witches, so this book was right up my alley! It was a quick and easy read yet it was just so fun and entertaining. This is the third book in The Holiday Hills Witch Cozy Mystery series. Though it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone, I would encourage you to pick up the first two prior to reading this to get a better sense of the characters, but also because I can only imagine that they’re just as enjoyable as this one was to read. I loved every minute of this book and read it all in one sitting. If you’re looking for a good small cozy mystery series to read, I suggest you pick up this delightful gem!
Thank you Netgalley, Carolyn Ridder Aspenson and Severn River Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a fun read. The cast of characters left me entertained. This is the 3rd installment of the series, but can be a standalone novel. The mystery kept me guessing till the end.

This is the first book I read in this series and had a lot of fun.
It's an engrossing and entertaining story and the plot kept me hooked.
Abby and Cooper are excellent characters and I can't wait to read the next story.
It's a mystery without a corpse but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

My name is Abby Odell, and I’m leading a double life.

Don’t get me wrong, I love it! But being a witch in a predominantly human world is challenging sometimes. My hometown, Holiday Hills, isn’t your typical small town. It’s a magical town, but not to the humans. At least not until recently.

Something’s happening and it’s not good. Magic is no longer hidden, and people are starting to witness events that don’t seem humanly possible. And that’s the problem. They’re not! Now my friends and neighbors are on edge, and some residents are even ready to turn Holiday Hills into the next Salem, Massachusetts.

Someone’s changing the way Holiday Hills works, and it’s my job to fix things before they change humanity and magic forever. The problem is, I don’t know the who, what, when or why…just the where. Now I’ve got to find the witch who’s joining worlds and stop them before they tilt the axis so far, Holiday Hills will never be the same.

------------
It's the 3rd book in Holiday Hills series and our mc is Abby. This book is such a paranormal read but still a fun and light read for me! The characters are very likable and full of witch-y things here. You'll jump straight into the story when you start this book! If you're looking a cozy paranormal book, this will be perfect for you!

Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC

I need to read the first two, but this was good on its own. I’d definitely look out for more from this author

A big thank you to NetGalley and Severn River Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the third in a series. I have not read the other books in this series. That being said, maybe i needed to. Maybe I needed some background. As I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. I didn't see the point of the book. Abby seemed nosy, and why was it her job to fix whatever she thought was the problem. I didn't get it. Sorry. I had a hard time finishing it. I liked her familiar Cooper but even the cat got odd. Leering at teenagers. Seemed like it took forever to get to the point. Of course, this doesn't mean it is a horrible book-just not for me. I am sure many will enjoy this cozy mystery with a bit of magic. 2.5 stars

Princess Fuzzypants here:. You have to love a book that has a familiar by the name of Cooper who is fast on the funny comebacks, slightly on the sardonic side and is intensely loyal to Abby. She is a witch who only recently discovered she was one and also discovered she happens to be very powerful. Her mother hid her powers from her but since her mothers death, she is coming into to her own. Her little town is a combination of humans and magical- even her best friend is human. One of the witch rules is humans must not be aware. So when Abby and her best friend experience some decidedly paranormal activities, Abby must find the source and stop it.

Many of the other local witches think it is but a flux, a blip in the magic, but Abby is convinced there is something far more sinister at play. It turns out Abby is correct and it all stems back to the Salem Witch Trials. She is shocked to learn several of her friends are hundreds of years old and were there during the events. One of them has such a huge gripe that she is willing to wait centuries for revenge. But which one? They all seem to have secrets. Or could there be someone else in the dark who is orchestrating all the chaos?

I fell in love with the little town and all the witchy characters. I especially love the familiars including two very funny rats. And, of course, Cooper. If I was a witch, I would want to familiar like him.

Five purrs and two paws up.

This book was such an enjoyable read. Despite being the third book in the series, after a few chapters, it didn't seem to matter that I haven't read the other books in the series (which is something I'm definitely going to have to change!). I loved it. I loved the familiars, I loved Abby. I loved the concept and the secondary characters you meet. It's a cute little mystery that takes no time at all to read and was thoroughly enjoyable! The writing style was simple, and straightforward, the pacing of the novel was very consistent and the wonder of magic, and likeable witches are always a plus in any book in my world.

This book was so fun to read! A great cozy, paranormal mystery! I read it in one sitting. It is part of a series but I have not read the previous books and was able to follow the story just fine! I also love this beautiful cover!

Thank you NetGalley and Severn River Publishing for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book is perfect. It has just the right amount of everything. The characters are very realistic and very likeable. The world building made me feel kind of nostalgic because it reminded me of growing up but without magic. The mystery really had me curious as to who the culprit was so I kept trying to figure it out. All in all it was amazing. I cannot wait for the next one.

Holiday Hills, Georgia – scene of the next Salem Witch Trials or at least the witches from the trials. Now it’s Abby’s job to settle the dispute before the town falls apart from the mischief. Holiday Hills is a mixed town – part witch and part normal. But the normal don’t know there are witches. When a few Salem era witches move to town, trouble comes with them.

I loved this book. The characters are interesting and make this story what it is.

Who’s That Witch? By Carolyn Ridder Aspenson is the 3rd tale in The Holiday Hills Witch Cozy Mystery Series. I do recommend reading the series in order. I found myself lost in the beginning since I have not read the previous two books. I was able to pick up information on our main character and her friends as I got further into this amusing paranormal mystery. I found the story easy to read with quirky characters. My favorite character being Abby’s familiar, Cooper. I enjoyed his snarky and sassy comments. The mystery of who was behind the magical mischief was fun. I liked the humor in the story that kept it upbeat. There is some repetition of details and I wish the author hade provided Abby’s backstory at the beginning. Who’s That Witch? provides a great break from the everyday world. Clint Eastwood fans will find themselves chuckling over Prince Charming’s antics and lines. Who’s That Witch? is a merry tale with magic, mayhem, and mystery.

So this is the third book in a series but I read it first and didn't get lost. I loved the vibe of the story, is so easy to read and fall into the story and the characters, it was funny and sweet and such a light read. It gave me a lot of autum-halloween vibes, amazing to read a Sunday in your bed to get away from the real world and enjoy a good book. Really liked it!

🪄 Book Review

🪄 Who's that witch?

The third book in the Holiday Hills Witches Cozy Mystery series)
A novel by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson

🪄 Thank you at Netgalley for my copy.

🪄 Publication Date 9th March 2021

🪄 My name is Abby Odell, and I’m leading a double life.

🪄 While this is the 3rd book in the Holiday Hills series, I was not lost by the characters or the previous storylines. The characters were well explained but I do not feel they would have been over explained to someone who had read books 1 and 2.

🪄 The book is a quick fun read with great characters and familiars.

I'll definitely be purchasing and reading the first 2 books and any more than come out by the author.

This book is a fun, cozy , paranormal mystery full of the usual tropes - humans live alongside witches and their familiars totally unaware of the magic around them .

Abbey , our witch, has a familiar called Cooper and a best human friend called Stella ( who is totally unaware of Abbey's powers )
When the humans in Holliday Hills start to see things they should not ...... a broomstick sweeping the road on its own etc , then Abbey realises something is amiss .
Most other witches see the occurrences as pranks but Abbey is not convinced ... is something more sinister going on ?
The characters are entertaining , especially Cooper, the dialogue witty and the story moves along at pace - a fun read .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I picked this one up thinking that it was the first in a new series. I was wrong, it’s the third, but I had no trouble diving right in and figuring out what was going on. I love paranormal cozies, and this one definitely fit the bill. All the characters are fun, and I love how light-hearted this mystery was. There wasn’t even a murder; this was just a mystery to find out who was messing with the humans and witches around town by showing a little bit of magic. I don’t know how Abby keeps her human friend from finding out she’s a witch with magic! Anyway, I am looking forward to reading more in the series. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Thank you to Severn River Publishing and Net Galley for providing me with a copy of Who's That Witch? in exchange for an honest review.

As the third in the Holiday Hills Witch series by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson follows a witch named Abby as she becomes concerned that another witch is wreaking havoc on their little town. Non-magical people are noticing signs of magic which is expressly forbidden and Abby wants to put a stop to it - but how!?

The novel is a quick, easy read, filled with magical tropes such as familiars, vows of secrecy and even a broom which sweeps on its own. Though this is third in the series, it was the first I encountered and, although there are a few small details which were not fully explained, I felt it could be read as a standalone text.

The world building was simple, the characters believable and the magic system enjoyable, three things which usually signify a great supernatural tale. The mystery aspect is fun and keeps the story moving at a swift pace while minor characters offer intriguing sub-plots filled with twists and turns.

Who's That Witch? reads like a quaint, small-town story with a magical twist and has the atmosphere of a Disney Halloween movie for a slightly older audience. Overall, it is highly recommended and hopefully the fourth in the series will provide answers to the questions the readers are left with.
