I'm always happy to get the chance to visit the Amish and English community of Harvest, Ohio. Once again Amanda Flower gives us a first rate cozy mystery. The Esh family is front and center in this book as a baby shower is thrown for Emily. I'm trying not to give anything away but we do learn more about Emily's past. With a satisfying storyline and the perfect pace I highly recommend diving into this book and series.

Bailey King, of Swissmen Sweets in Harvest Oho, decides to go along with a few townspeople who want to throw her shop assistant, Emily Keim, a baby shower, even though the Amish don't host such events. All the ladies, both English and Amish, gather for the shower, including a mysterious woman who tells Emily she wants her baby to get to know her sister, Emily's first baby that was given up for adoption years ago.
During the hustle of the shower, the woman disappears, until she is found dead at the pretzel shop next to Swissmen Sweets, run by Ester Esh, Emily's estranged sister. Despite promises to her boyfriend, Deputy Aiden Brody to stay out of things, Bailey investigates to try and get to the bottom of things.
This is the sixth book in the Amish Candy Shop series. I always look forward to each new installment. This one was different from the others, and contained elements such as adoption among the Amish, and racing that I knew nothing about. Ms. Flower does great research, and is very careful in her writing. It makes for page turning reading.
This story had an element that made me call out, “No!” while I was reading, but I look forward to seeing how it is handled in the next book. These books are always five stars for me. I absolutely love this series. I read a digital copy of this book provided by the publisher through NetGalley.

"Lemon Drop Dead" continues the series about the Amish candy shop, although it can be read as a standalone novel. This cozy mystery features Bailey, a candy maker who assists with her family's Amish candy shop, although Bailey is not Amish. In this installment, Bailey works to solve the mysterious death of a woman who is connected in some way to Bailey's friend Emily. The story involves Amish horse-racing, a deaf Amish child, and a huge Amish hardware store! These surprising elements add new twists to the Amish Swissman Sweets series. Readers of the series will enjoy connecting with old friends from the previous novels (including Jethro the pig!) and meeting some new characters as well. Newcomers to the series will also enjoy the fun of getting to know Bailey's backstory and the characters who populate the town. Although loose ends are tied up satisfactorily, the author leaves readers with some new happenings to keep the series alive.

This is a clean novel, without strong language, graphic sexual scenes, or overt violence. I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Lemon Drop Dead is another winner by Amanda Flower.

In this book, Bailey wants to celebrate the upcoming newborn. even though this is not common in the Amish community. However, things turn ugly when a stranger arrives claiming she knows about Emily's other child.

When she turns up dead Emily knows her sister is not the killer. She sets to clear Esther's name with the help of Bailey.

Overall, the story is fun and easy to follow. The characters are well-crafted. This is one great cozy mystery.

Lemon Drop Dead is the sixth book in Amanda Flower’s Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. This is an easy to read confectionery cozy set in the Ohio Amish community, with well-developed characters, a sense of family and community, and an entertaining mystery.

Bailey King gave up her job as an assistant chocolatier at JP Chocolates in New York City to move to Harvest, Ohio, to help her Amish grandmother, Clara King, after her grandfather passed away. Bailey isn’t Amish, but her father, who left the Amish community before she was born, was. As a child, Bailey spent her summers with her grandparents and learned to love chocolates in their Amish candy shop, Swissmen Sweets. While Aiden is well-liked by both the English and Amish communities in Holmes County, the Amish are hesitant to open up to him, so Bailey helps him with his investigation. Meanwhile, Bailey’s boyfriend, Aiden, and her Amish cousin, Charlotte, are faced with life-altering decisions.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Title: Lemon Drop Dead
Author: Amanda Flower

Series: Amish Candy Shop Mystery book 6

Chapters: 35 plus Epilogue

Pages: 320

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 3.5 stars

Publisher: Kensington

While I still enjoy the Amish Candy Shop cozy mystery series by Amanda Flower, Lemon Drop Dead was not my favorite of the series. But I did enjoy Bailey sort of learning that she could pass off project from Margot to others. I still love Bailey's close relationship with her grandma even though her grandmother is Amish. But most importantly want I liked most about this one and it wasn't related to the mystery. Was the fact that Charlotte finally made her choice, and I think it was the right one for her, and it was a choice that only she could make.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Amanda Fpwler gives us an Amish cozy in Lemon Drop Dead. Cute animals, a faulty adoption which leaves the mother not knowing where the child is, crooked racing, and a strangled stranger. Mix them all together for this heartwarming cozy.

This is a classic cozy mystery, the 6th book in the Amish Candy Shop mysteries. I love the characters and the small town atmosphere. I recommend this book!

Baby fever is all the rage in Harvest, Ohio. Everyone wants to celebrate Emily and her baby. The kicker is the baby shower is in less than a week and Bailey has to get everything put together. The last thing Bailey needs is to find herself in the middle of a murder investigation with the one Amish woman who hates her. Can Bailey find the killer and save the baby shower?

A delightful series that makes you crave everything fudge and candy-related. This time you will be dreaming of lemon drops, lemon pie, and lemon everything. Jethro is still trying to make himself the star but he has added a few friends along the way.

I love how Amanda Flower stays as true to the Amish as she can but at the same time gives them real-life issues.

A clean read for romance and mystery readers of all ages.

Amanda Flower is one of my favorite cozy authors, and this is one of my favorite cozy series. I absolutely loved this installment! The characters are so well-developed, and I love the small town setting and the sense of family and community in each of the books. I loved learning about Emily and her past. The plot was well-paced, and I really enjoyed the mystery. Jethro is one of my favorite characters, and he provided plenty of laughs! I also loved the American Sign Language was incorporated into this story and that the author made a point that being deaf is not a negative thing.

Lemon Drop Dead by Amanda Flower is the sixth full length novel in the cozy Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. Along with three companion novellas in this series each of the books holds it’s own mystery that will be solved so they can be read in any order or as a standalone if choosing to do so. For those that follow from the beginning in the series though there is character building carrying over from book to book to tie them altogether.

The main character in this series, Bailey King, had been working in New York as a chocolatier before she decided to return to Harvest, Ohio and help her Amish grandmother run their family owned candy shop, Swissmen Sweets. While Bailey is not Amish herself she does find herself fitting into the community with her Amish roots and trusted more than other outsiders.

This time around in Lemon Drop Dead Bailey finds herself in the middle of the two communities yet again with one of her assistants, Emily Keim’s baby shower. Emily is Amish but the others in the community want to throw her a lavish lemon themed baby shower. This however isn’t Emily’s first baby though not many now of that and when a woman turns up murdered who knew of Emily’s first child Bailey knows she must quietly solve the crime before word gets out.

Since I have been following the Amish Candy Shop mystery series from the beginning which at this point is nine books strong and hopefully still going there is not much I haven’t already said. The series is a quirky and fun cozy bringing the Amish and English together. The characters are lovely, the lead has a close relationship with the law so that brings a more believability to the crime solving and there’s a little spotted pet pig that steals the show. I’m definitely a huge fan and will continue to be!

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

I have read quite a few of the cozies in this series by Amanda Flower and have loved every one of them.
Is my favorite character the pig? Well it just may be and this sweet pig shows up in every book in this series as well.
The pacing of the book was great and kept me wanting to read it and I even stayed up late reading it.
Though the Amish are not known for baby showers one is planned for an expectant mother in this book but this mother carries a secret few are privy too.
There is a mystery going on here besides the murder mystery.
This Amish based cozy mystery series is my favorite of the type and I can't wait to see what the author puts out next.

Lemon Drop Dead, the latest installment of the Amish Candy Shop series it one of my favorites of the series so far. Bailey is planning a baby shower for Emily, even though that's not typically something the Amish do. In the course of the story, we learn a great deal more about Emily's past than we had previously known. It's hard to be specific without giving things away, so suffice to say that Lemon Drop Dead and the Amish Candy Shop series are sure to be enjoyed by cozy fans everywhere!

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This has become one of my favorite series. I love 'visiting' Harvest, Ohio where Bailey makes great chocolate and totally relates to the Amish. As I've come to expect, the book was well-written with characters I like.

Emily is one of these that I've really come to like and it's so exciting to be part of the baby shower for her. I also like that some family relationships might be beginning to mend.

This installment in the series is all about the mysterious Esh family. Though the new baby was the focus of the beginning of the book, this also expanded out to Emily’s previous, but only briefly and quietly discussed baby from before she met her husband. The mystery evolved into what happened to her new family. In the end, this was a great mystery and family story- bringing it back to how life changes unexpectedly- and now we have a question for the next book- will they break up?....

Taking a trip back to Harvesis always like going home to old friends and family. This time it is for a baby shower for Emily. It is a perfect day until a stranger shows up with a secret from Emily past. When Emily's sister is found over the stranger's body will Bailey be able to prove her innocence? This book has a lot of life changing decisions in it. Cannot wait til the next book.

This story is very appropriately titled, Lemon Drop because the story is definitely bitter sweet but not just because of the death, no there are several different reason and several different stories going on, as usual, in this cozy. The multiple story lines woven throughout the story and the series draws you in and keeps you coming back for more. You are invested in not one character but in many and while the story would be entertaining even without the character development of Charlotte or Emily, it adds just the right flavor, like with the chocolate that Bailey works with. Although our story refers back to the series starter, you do not need to have read it to understand that Emily had a secret from her past that resurfaces in her present and will quite possibly lead to a happier future. Cousin Charlotte has a secret of her own that comes out, although I think we all had a pretty good idea. Lastly is Baily, who is the best pig sitter ever with a heart of gold, a heart that was hurt and then mended and just maybe is ready for more. A very good storyline, great plot development, and I had no idea that the killer was the killer or why they did it until the very end. If you're wondering about the lemon drop candies, they are as easy as the sounds but you do need some patience waiting for the sugar to reach the hard ball stage and then don't wait too long when they cool before finishing them up.

Amanda Flower has written yet another outstanding entry in the Amish Candy Shop mystery series!
Bailey and Emily are both shocked when a unknown woman crashes Emily's baby shower and congratulates her on her second child. How does this lady know about Emily's secret shame and the baby she gave up for adoption as a teenager? Things take an even worse turn when the stranger is found murdered in the pretzel shop owned by Emily's brother and sister. Now everyone is looking to Bailey to discover the killer and clear Emily's sister's name.
This story has so much depth and emotion that a reader would not normally expect out of a cozy mystery. Reoccurring characters continue to gain depth and grow, while new characters pertinent to the tale are introduced with careful intent to place them perfectly into the story. There are no throwaway characters here, but well thought out people that have a purpose in completing the mystery. The relationships between the characters are well-thought out and continue to evolve, leaving the reader with the hope of many more books to come.
