This series gets better as it goes along. I particularly liked learning about how adoption differs with the Amish and the treatment of impairments within the community. This was a fast paced and interesting mystery that kept me guessing. The secondary characters are just as loveable (for the most part) as Bailey and her grandmother and truly create a sense of community. I am looking forward to the next one.

The ladies of Harvest, Ohio, throw a baby shower for Emily, even though baby showers aren't an Amish thing. At the shower, a woman nobody knows approaches Emily and delivers a mysterious – and frightening – message. When the women is found dead in Emily's family's pretzel shop, Emily begs Bailey to help clear Esther's name.

This is the sixth book in the Amish Candy Shop series, which I've enjoyed from the start. The small town setting is 'just right' for this kind of story, and the interactions between the Amish and the English always teach me something about the Amish. The recurring characters feel like family by now, and while some of them are quite annoying, the village wouldn't be complete without them – and the books wouldn't be as interesting either.

The mystery in this book was a good one, with plenty of suspects to consider. I wavered back and forth between a couple of them, but was unable to identify the killer until just before the reveal. The background stories were also compelling, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out how these situations work out.

Author, Amanda Flower, gives us another great addition to the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. I loved this book and all the twists and turns the author has happen. It is a very fast read because you do not want to stop reading it until the mystery is solved.

We once again visit the community of Harvest, Ohio and former characters. Englisher Bailey once again finds herself in the middle of trying to solve yet another death in this small community.

Family relationships, adoptions, a deaf child, and many secrets are of primary focus in this book. We also find relationships of love taking surprising turns. There are so many facets to this story, that it makes for very interesting reading. The author keeps you guessing as to who the murderer is and it was not who I expected.

I highly recommend this book to lovers of a good cozy mystery. I received a copy of this book from Kensington Publishers and NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

This was another great installment from Amanda Flower in her Amish Sweet Shop series. I actually think it might have been my favourite in the past couple of books,? Although, I don't think I've ever disliked a book of hers, to be fair!
I don't want to give away too much, but I really liked the second mystery and storyline that sprung from the murder.
Flower's taking an interesting turn with the the main character's romance in this book, making it a little less smooth running. I'm interested to see how Bailey's relationship with Aiden evolves.
As always, these characters are a delight to spend time with and the town is an absolute joy.

Bailey King and her cousin Charlotte are throwing a baby shower for their co worker and friend Emily. They have the party in the town square and during the shower, a woman introduces herself to Emily and references Emily's first child that she had as a teenager and gave away. The woman is later found murdered in Emily's sister's shop. Despite being estranged from her sister, Emily knows Ester didn't kill anyone. She asks Bailey to look into the woman's death.

I loved this installment to the series. Bailey is such a great character. I love her grandmother and Charlotte and all the townspeople. Juliet and her pig, Jethro, just make the book for me. That pig is my favorite animal. I loved that we got to see how far Charlotte has grew since she was introduced to the series. It was nice to see her have the confidence in herself to plan Emily's baby shower. I loved the storyline of Emily's first child. The mystery was good and I had a few ideas as to the killer My one complaint about the book is I felt the ending was wrapped up too quick. I would have liked to have had more details. But overall this was an excellent book. I received a ARC copy from Kensington publishing and netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Bailey King is back in the latest Amish Candy Shop Mystery. This time the crime scene is at Esh Pretzel Shop. Abel and Esther Esh certainly have reason to murder Rosemary Weiss but did they? Or were they framed. ? Neither of them like Bailey but she's determined to help them. But when a little girl named Hannah comes into the picture will it change things or has Bailey finally bit off more than she can chew ? This is a great series.

The latest in Amanda Flowers Amish Candy Shop Mystery series is a little darker for me than previous offerings. The death of a woman whose life was tragic highlighted many painful family situations that were in no way cheerful. 'Lemon Drop Dead' focused on many of the reasons that Bailey's neighboring Pretzel Shop owners are so unpleasant, not the least of which is how they treat their youngest sister Emily. The town has determined that Emily will have a baby shower, which is not an Amish tradition, and everything goes downhill from there. Added to that is my lack of enthusiasm for the direction Bailey and Aiden's relationship is heading, and although I am invested in the entire series, I don't have to like the unhappiness. The epilogue balanced that unhappiness to a degree, but I am anxious beyond words for the next installment and to have some good news.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Bailey finds herself in the middle of another murder mystery. When her co-worker Emily was a teenager, she became pregnant. In order to save her family from humiliation, she left town to stay with an English family and she let her brother Abel and sister Esther coerce into giving her baby daughter up for adoption to an Amish couple she had never met. Shortly thereafter, she had moved back, met and married Daniel and became pregnant again. Vowing to not have any secrets from him, she had told him about her teenage years. When the ladies in town decided to throw Emily a baby shower, a strange woman named Rosemary shows up and confronts Emily about her secret.

When Rosemary ends up dead in Abel and Esther’s pretzel shop, all fingers point to them and what their motives could have been. Did they have something to hide? Did they kill Rosemary to keep her from contacting Emily about her daughter? Now that Rosemary is dead, what will happen to her 6 year old daughter Hannah? Because Hannah is deaf, her adoptive father doesn’t want her and her biological father who didn’t know she existed, doesn’t want her either when he meets her and finds out she is deaf. As the storyline continues, more suspects are brought to light. What will become of Hannah? Will she find herself in a foster family or will her biological mother step forward and identify herself as her mom?

I read this book in a day because the storyline kept my interest. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review and opinion.

In this installment of the Amish candy shop mysteries, Bailey's friend, Emily, is pregnant. Though it is not Amish tradition, a baby shower is thrown in her honor. A woman approaches Emily and lets her know that she is aware of Emily's secret - she had a child of out wedlock years ago. Before the woman can be found to discuss the issue further, she is found dead in Emily's sister's shop. Emily's sister, Esther, becomes a suspect, but being Amish and estranged from her sister both make efforts to clear her more difficult. Bailey feels an obligation to Emily, however, and feels the need to do just that, while helping to run the shop and keep her relationship on track.

I love this series, but this one fell a little flat for me. It's possible it was because it focused less on Bailey and more on other characters. Because it was written by Amanda Flower, it was, of course, well written and enjoyable, but regular readers of the series might be just a bit disappointed. Still looking forward to the next book, however! I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher.

I always enjoy a visit back to Harvest with Bailey. The mixture of sweets, Amish traditions, and murder always makes for an exciting mix. In this visit, I especially liked the far-ranging explorations of Bailey as she tries to solve the murder, and I like that the murder has far-reaching implications for a 6-year-old girl who's Amish and deaf--and suddenly motherless. I was also happy to see a little less of Juliet, the pushy mom of Bailey's boyfriend. All in all, a satisfying read!

A wonderful addition to the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. This is a well written cozy mystery that hooks you on the first page. It has just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. This is the perfect cozy mystery to escape with. A change of pace for an Amish book. It was easy to figure out but still a nice easy read.
A true cozy mystery.

I love the Amish Candy Shop cozy mystery series by Amanda Flower and Lemon Drop Dead was a wonderful addition. Bailey King co-owns Swissman Sweets with her Amish grandmother. Bailey is dating Aiden who is the Assistant Police Chief but Aiden is tiring of his job and is looking for another opportunity. An Amish woman is found dead at Esh Family Pretzels and that starts a very complicated murder investigation. The characters in this book and series are likable and interesting and give it depth. I wish this book had more interaction between Bailey and Aiden outside the investigation especially at the end. But that is minor and the book is captivating, well written and very enjoyable.

My favorite part of this series? That each book gives us little insights to a different character and after each one, I like them all more and more. As per usual, this can be read as a stand alone, but there is a bit of back story that you'd benefit from reading them in order. A perfectly cozy mystery.

Started this one this afternoon and finished it. Really enjoyed the story line which explored how a couple of major family issues/events and horse racing may possibly be handled in the Amish community (I am uncertain how accurate they are, but it's written convincingly) and incorporated them into the mystery.

The author also wrapped up some ongoing issues and set up more than one character to go in a new direction in the next book. I was very pleased with the ending.

Lemon Drop Dead is the sixth mystery in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. In this installment, Bailey King, part owner of Swissmen Sweets and amateur sleuth, finds herself searching for a murderer found in The Esh’s pretzel shop.

I really loved this mystery just like every other installment in this series. This series is full of great, likable characters, good mystery and a quaint Amish town that you will definitely want to visit. Lemon Drop Dead lived up to the series and I couldn’t stop from chapter to chapter. I love Bailey and her adventures and the charming town of Harvest. This mystery and the entire series is definitely worth the time!

Another wonderful book by Amanda Flower. We start off with the ladies wanting to give Emily a baby shower, at which a mystery woman shows up and says she knows about the daughter Emily gave up years ago. Before she can be questioned she leaves just a quickly as she arrived. The next we see of her she is lying dead in the Esh family pretzel shop with a threatening letter from Emily's sister Ester in her pocket. Thus starts a wonderful story full of twists and turns and so many unusual connections. In the midst of all this the lives of the ladies at Swissman's Sweets are each drastically changed in their own ways. I can not wait to see where we go from here.

This is another example of an author kicking it up a couple notches for their latest book in a series.
And did she ever...especially for this usually lightweight cozy. There was a lot going on in the story instead of just the murder, yet it all flowed seamlessly.

Emily is having a baby. yeah! she's such a sweet character, you're happy for her. But in her youth, she had a child which was given up for adoption so that becomes a subplot which is dealt with empathy & respect.
Bailey is hosting her baby shower which may/may not be exactly in the Amish tradition.
I know it's a bit tricky but I hope Charlotte will get an HEA as well.

Enough pleasantries b/c of course, Bailey has encountered another dead body & another murder to solve....and this time Esther is at the center of the mystery. Esther hasn't been the nicest person but Bailey puts that aside to investigate anyway. You do however want to slap some sense into the woman at times. Thankfully Bailey is the better person.

No spoilers: of course I want Bailey & Aiden to have the usual HEA but I do think the writer is taking the characters into a natural progression of their story development.

I hate to admit this but my eyes were misty as I read the epilogue. Wow, so glad it worked out that way but I could tell early on it probably would. I didn't guess the killer either.

This was another winner by Amanda Flower! This is book six of The Amish Candy Shop Series. In this twist and turn mystery we discover what happened to Emily’s first baby. Emily is struggling with feelings of being pregnant an giving up her first baby. The village throws Emily a baby shower to celebrate. When a mysterious guest shows up and then is found murdered in Emily’s sister shop things get even more complicated. Bailey hopes to solve all the mysteries.
