Wow, the illustrations in this book made my horse-loving heart sing. While I found some of the writing disjointed, definitely not my preference when trying to read to my toddler, the illustrations blew me away. The story, especially knowing it was based on true events, was very sweet. However, the writing felt a little clunky and it was not easy to read (which is generally one of my priorities when searching for books to read to my family).

This is a very lovely story about a girl and her horse, and the bond they form over a summer spent riding together. When the pony is eventually sold, the girl misses her terribly, and years later she sets off to find out what happened to her horse. This is a great book for kids, especially for little equestrians!

Jump to the Moon is sure to be a hit with any horse-loving child. The illustrations are soothing and the story deals with the loss and recovery of a cherished animal companion. Based loosely on a true story, any reader can feel the heart-ache when a horse companion is sold and feel the joy when that friendship is found again.

Hi, I downloaded the book but the art did not download. I can read the text but only a few coloured lines are in place of the pictures.

This says I have to give a star rating for my feedback to be sent.

The illustrations in Jump the Moon were very good and the story reminded me of Black Beauty and the heartbreak of losing a horse that you had a great relationship with then reconnecting later in both the horse and the person's life. It would make a great bedtime read if a young horse lover was too young to read on their own.but regardless has a great message that love lasts forever.

What a cute story! The art work was beautiful and my daughter loved the horse and how the girl in the story had blonde hair, like she does, and braided the horse's hair. The message of being kind to others who don't necessarily seem to deserve it or are not nice to others, was a beautiful lesson for children. I love how the girl's relentless love and kindness for Me Too helped changed her demeanor, which is a wonderful parallel to how we should treat other people. I also really loved how the girl searched for Me Too when she was older. It is a sweet and simple story that is based on a true story. We really enjoyed it!

A pony, a girl and a dream the perfect story plot for a book! What a beautifully written story about a girl who bonded with a pony to be separated and then reunited years later. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so sweet. This will be a definite hit to any horse crazy girl. Even better it is based on a true story!

This book was super sweet and I love that it was inspired by a true story. My husband and daughters actually teared up while reading it the illustrations were really pretty as well. Pictures I could easily see on my oldest daughters walls.

This heartfelt book has good pacing and will be perfect for horse girls. It follows the story of a girl and her horse who are separated when she's young and their journey to find each other again. I enjoyed the soft art style, which fit the dream-like portions of the book and suited the story. The pacing and coloring were both very well done.

The beautiful cover for Jump the Moon by Kathy Simmers author, and Marjorie Van Heerdan illustrator entices you to open and read this story. a misunderstood pony finds acceptance and love only to seemingly lose it. Don’t we all feel misunderstood at times, which means we were rooting for the underdog pony to find that love again.

The lovely illustrations give this realistic story a magical feel while it is a down to earth story. One of the things I liked is how it is a pattern story. By the end even my granddaughters would join in together to say Me Too’s thoughts. That just made it even more fun to read. The author’s note at the end tell that it is based on a true story. We all loved that it especially had the real life happy ending.

This was a favorite of the day for my granddaughters when we read it together. They both gave it 5 stars.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

The bond between a little girl and a horse who are separated and find each other many years later. I found this a very sweet story that would undoubtedly find a place in the hearts of many horse-loving little girls. The vocabulary is friendly to young readers or could be a great parent/child read.

While the story is a bit simplistic, the illustrations are beautiful and I think horse crazy children (and the grown ups they become) will like the sweet story.

Such a sweet story! Jump the Moon is a story about a girl that longed for a pony of her own and a pony that no one wanted to keep. They meet one summer and grow close, only to lose each other when summer comes to an end. A wonderful story about remembering those we love and reuniting with them when the time is right. I thought that the story was sweet and the illustrations were beautiful. I really enjoyed the story and would recommend it to others.

This was a beautiful story with beautiful images. I read this with my 4 year old and he loved it minus the sad parts, his words.

This is a heart warming story that gives hope that happy endings are possible in real life. Too often we hear of the sadness, but this story helps bring joy.
