This collection of web comics is for anyone who has ever fallen in love with a dog (or, I would argue, any other furry friend). Architect / cartoonist Gemma Gené chronicles her life with her beloved pug, Mochi in these pages, and I got my whole animal-loving life. It’s divided into sections such as food, family, friends, sleep, etc. and each section provides hilarious, relatable comics about never being alone, whether that’s in the bathroom, at bedtime, or just chillin’ on the couch.

I loved this collection so much. I finished it in one sitting and immediately wanted more. I have a couple of friends with a pug, and I could see him in many of these illustrations. The art is precious. I laughed a lot, and I had heart eyes for their love more than once.

This one’s not out until April, but if you enjoy web comics and pups, definitely check it out.

If you like small dogs, you will probably find humor in this collection of web cartoons, popular online.

Mochi is a pug that acts a bit like a cat sometimes, and sometimes like a dog.

The author has the dog speaking English to her, though most things are what we would assume dogs would say to us if they could speak English.

The things that are covered are things that most keepers of dogs or cats are familiar with, such as sleeping on or close to her head, as is shown on the cover, not wanting to go for walks in the rain, and not wanting to eat the pet food as they should.

All of the stories are relatable, though there are no laugh out loud humor here. It more a nodding of the head and saying to yourself, yes, my dog does that too.

If you love this series, it is a nice collection to have in print.

READING THIS MAKES ME WANT A DOG EVEN MORE!!

Seriously so adorable. If I were a dog, I would definitely have the same personality as Mochi :)

This was such a funny, chill and cute read. And it’s a pretty fast read so you can read it anytime for entertainment! The art style was cute and fit really well with the story. I also really liked the different sections highlighting Life With Mochi. Highly recommend to those who surrender to cuteness. :)

Pros: The cover of this book caught my attention. The illustrations/graphics throughout are adorable. This book is heartwarming for pet owners as it perfectly encapsulates the relationship between pet and pet owner/parent. Another huge pro is that this is a happy animal book (animal books are so often sad)! I had no idea that Mochi is famous on Instagram until the end of the book, but I can see why!

Cons: None that I can think of--this book is precious. The star rating isn't a reflection on anything this book does--I just save higher star ratings for extra special books.

Super cute! If you have a dog or a cat you’ll be able to see something of your pet’s cutest most endearing traits in these comics. I recommend for any dog (or cat ) lover!

A pug lovers delight! Author Gemma Gene started sketching pictures of her pug Mochi on her daily commute and sharing as a web comic - 157ofgemma. This book brings her story with Mochi together and is really a love story between owner and beloved pet charting their time together from puppyhood to adulthood. I wondered if this might appeal to my daughter who loves dogs (she is almost 7). She loved the illustrations but at 200+ pages, it's probably aimed at slightly older readers and dog lovers. Beautifully presented and illustrated and packed full of humour.

Fun little read about how much we love our dogs. Mochi is a spoiled, quirky little dog and the panels illustrate all of his adorable habits. I found this comic to be more cute than funny although there were a few moments where I chuckled. Pages 56 and 43 were my favorite. Very relatable book if your the type of person who values your furbaby above all else.

This is adorable. Mochi seems like a naught pug and he loves his mami. This GN is basically one sitting read and it will be relatable to every other pet owner. I just didn't find it exceptional or something that I can remember after one or two months.

LOL! The perfect cartoon collection about Mochi, the pug, for any dog-lover (or cat-lover). Great innocent humor for middle grades and up!

I just love dogs, and pugs especially, plus, I like comics, so I decided to check out what Living with Mochi was like! In the end I did have fun... but the dog was just too human-like/too much Garfield copy.

Meet Mochi, a pug baby (in the beginning). A spoiled little thing who loves food and sleep and who at times does some pretty cute things. We see how life is with a dog and it reminds me a lot of how cats are. Haha, I mean sleeping on laptops, on heads, hogging all the places in bed, and some other things.

I liked that the book was split up in parts and that each part had respective comics for that topic. From sleeping to food to family and more, and then comics following that topic.

I liked the coloured pages at the beginning of each new part/chapter. Those mostly showed the dog as a dog, and not as a Garfield copy.

But I am deducing points because the dog talked/acted human at times. It just didn't fit in my eyes and made the dog more like a Garfield copy, and really, in the end I just saw Garfield instead of a dog (and while I do love Garfield, even he gets too much). The mannerisms, the entitlement, the love for food, the eyes, the movement, the way he talked, it was just so Garfield. If I want Garfield, I will read that. I wanted fun dog comics featuring normal dogs, aka I would have rather have the dog silent and more animal-like.

So yeah, at times I liked this.. but at times I just didn't. And if a book is 224 pages... it can feel endless. I am giving it 2.5 stars in total. I would have loved to rate it higher, but the dog was just frustrating/annoying/too much a Garfield clone.

Truly adorable! I am a cat person but love all animals and this was a great read for a good laugh. I’d definitely buy this for an animal lover especially the pug lover in my life. Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the arc I received.

This is about a pug named Mochi and his adorableness! The illustrations are so cute and made the reading experience a lot more fun. I loved how these illustrations showed the personality of Mochi through different activities, separated by chapters.

This was adorable! I love their Instagram account so I knew I would love this and I was right. The art was adorable and I loved seeing more of Motchi. I also think so many dog owners can identify with this even if it is specifically about one dog. I definitely can't wait to add this one to my collection.

As a new owner to a golden retriever puppy, this book was so relatable. From sleeping on your head, to an abundance of toys – my Meadow’s antics are very similar to that of Mochi. Like the narrator, my fiancé and I could not have a dog at our first apartment, and it wasn’t until we owned a house that we could fulfill his dream of getting a puppy. I’ve always adored pugs, but my fiancé finds them ugly – I hope showing him this book will change his mind! Meadow also enjoys belly rubs, food, and sleeping and very much dislikes being alone. I enjoyed the simple scenes that depict special moments between a dog and their owner – for example, just spending time gazing lovingly into one another eyes. Dogs truly have the ability to make you feel better after having a bad day. This book is a must-read for any dog-lover!

Mochi was so cute and his quirks and shenanigans reminded me of my own two dogs. There were so many scenes and lines in this book that made me laugh out loud. I also really liked the cartoons and thought the drawings were adorable. I think anyone with a dog would really enjoy and relate to this book!

This was much cuter than I thought it would be. A sweet, funny little book of comics about a pug named Mochi who is super spoiled and pretty much rules his house. The only gripes I had were the large pictures of Mochi that seemed to be only for making the book longer and how long it was. I honestly thought it was too long and the comics could’ve spoken for themselves. Otherwise I had a good time.

My 10 year old really loved this book. We don't have a dog, but I grew up with them. My daughter loves graphic novels and she thought this was really cute and really funny. And she loved it even more knowing that I don't like pugs. :) I have never liked pugs. So she thought it was even better for that.

Although we don't have dogs, I recognize the things Mochi did because of stories I have heard from friends and because some were similar to things my kids did. Cute and fun book.

It's soooo cute and witty! I never had a chance to be a pawrent so I'm glad I'm able to live vicariously through this book. It's really funny, plus the adorable art makes it even more loveable. I'd definitely recommend this to dog lovers and anyone who's looking for a short but sweet read!
