I really enjoyed this book and the writing style, it was a back and forth tale focused on 3 characters POV’s, Tim, Davida and Viv. Viv is in a coma and no one knows why or what led to the events. As the mystery unfolds dark secrets come to the forefront. This book had me guessing right until the end.

I do feel this book did need some trigger or content warnings.
CW for Sexual assault, addiction and Child grooming.

Pretty Little Liars vibes! Oh my gosh, med student drama! #MeToo movement. I am loving all the drama. This is a YA thriller but honestly I think this is for a more mature audience. This kept me on my toes so much, I couldn't get enough. I can't wait to see what else the author comes out with. We need more!

This story is told from three different people. The past is told by Viv, a girl who now lays in a coma, and her two friends who are currently trying to figure out what happened. You also get the perspective of the detective through interviews he holds through out the novel. This is a story about secrets, and how people can hide the bad that is happening when they want to.

I really like the difference in characters in the story. They are almost like a band of misfits that are trying to figure out their way in this twisted world. The dynamics between the group is really interesting especially when it comes to other side characters. And it gets you wondering about what the people you know best can hide when they are trying to be perfect.

This story definitely suprised me with the directions it took throughout. It's definitely not what I expected and I mean this in a good way. While it's a young adult book, I do recommend older teens because of some of the darker and serious subjects covered in this book.

Tell Me When You Feel Something is a thrilling read from start to finish. It has a captivating premise that it really delivers on. Holds your attention from the start with many twists and turns so it keeps you on your toes. Short chapters make it more punchy and the police reports give it even more atmosphere.

The writing is great. The premise is unique. Everything else fell short for me, unfortunately. First of all, there should have been a trigger warning, especially since it is a YA novel. Second of all, the chapters were so short. Normally I would like that but in this case it felt like I never really got to know Viv. The police reports were pretty cool, though.

This one has so much potential. I hope to read more by Grant in the future.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Unique, interesting mystery!
Viv has somehow ended up in a coma. The story alternates between the police officer questioning people that know Viv and the time lines before and after the episode that sent her into a coma. We get the points of view from Viv, Davida, Tim and the people being questioned. Through this, we discover more about the characters and what happened before and after the party. Viv struggles with her dysfunctional family life and deals with her problems by drinking alcohol. She’s hiding it from everyone except a taxi driver that’s helped her and wants to protect her. The suspense builds the closer the party gets and the suspect pool grows and then narrows as the mystery winds down. A unique, interesting mystery, 4 stars!

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. Very captivating with amazing character development. Students participating in a medical study experience some unusual behavior at the school they are working at. One girl consistently blacks out and cannot remember anything. Who can they trust? You think you know everything, yet you do not, and so much more that will have you guessing what is really going on until the end. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was absolutely thrilling! There was so much going on and so many secrets and lies that I didn't want to put it down. I started this book (against my better judgement) at around 10 pm and hoped that I would get a few chapters in so that I could really dive into it the next day. That is not what happened. I was up until around 1 am because I couldn't stop reading it. The storyline was crazy. This story is told from the perspectives of Viv, Davida and Tim who are high school students that are all a part of a part time program where they are simulated patients for med students. The story takes place in the present with flashbacks into the past. We are introduced to all of the characters but find out that Viv is in the hospital after OD-ing at a party. Davida doesn't believe that Viv took the pills but she soon realizes she doesn't know Viv as well as she thought and starts to dive into her life and try and figure out what happened. You also see Viv's perspective in the flashbacks too what happened before the party and get her first hand account of her story. Tim has way more information then he lets on but he made Viv a promise and doesn't want to come forward. This story was crazy and with the different perspectives and theories it is definitely one of my favorite thrillers I have read this year.

Viv is popular, pretty, successful- basically has it all, so when she is caught on camera at a party overdosing on drugs everyone was surprised. But it seems that there was more to Viv than anyone knows, her life is full of secrets that caused her actions that night. But her friend Davida refuses to stop looking into the situation because she knows that Viv would not have overdosed on purpose...right?

I think the ideas behind this book had a lot of potential, but the delivery was where the book was lacking. The story is narrated from three different points of view, Viv the victim leading up to her accident, and then Davida and Tim in the present right after the accident. I had a hard time connecting to any of them and the plot felt really jumpy and not cohesive. I was all for a good mystery with maybe a medical leaning, but this felt more like a romance and social commentary than anything mysterious and medical. By the time the book had the big reveal at the ending I just did not really care and I was not super surprised. (Can we talk about the repeated focus on taking the iron vitamin was super weird- was there an underlying medical reason that was not addressed or just because she is a teen girl and this is a "thing" due to menstrual cycles?? Yeah, not impressed here.)

Keep in mind that other people may really like this book (I will 100% admit I am in a reading funk so this could be a case of me not you) so if you want a slow moving plot about some very dysfunctional (cough cough hot mess) high school students and drug/alcohol abuse then maybe this is the right read for you.

I am a HUGE fan of #karenmcmanus so when #netgalley was all hay if you liked this book then grab your seat … #tellmewhenyoufeelsomething by #vickigrant was an absolute ride and a thrill. When there’s a simulated med school where students become different types of patients. And. One of those students overdoses her friend is determined to get to the bottom of it. This is definitely a must read. The ending had me 🤯 #bookstagram #netgalleyreview #readersofinstagram #books

DNF at 29%. I just couldn't. The content of the book with no warning? Unacceptable. I wish I knew what was in this book before I read it. I wouldn't have wasted my time.
Pacing was off, plot was predictable.
Just not a good read.

Tell Me When You Feel Something is a thriller about a girl named Vivi, who’s currently in a coma after seemingly taking a pill at a party. When we meet her friend Davina, she’s at the police station explaining that Vivi could have never taken that pill on purpose. But things aren’t what they seem and Vivi’s life is more troubled than she lets on to the world.

I found the way that Tell Me When You Feel Something was build up was done really well. Seeing things from Vivi, Davina and also Tim’s perspective. Also the switching between the events before the party and after the party made for a very interesting read to uncover what really happened. I was totally on the edge of my seat wanting to now what happened. The last few chapters were especially really thrilling and also devastating as we found out what happened.

A good reminder that things aren’t always what they seem and that people are going through more things than what’s actually visible to others.

Tell Me When You Feel Something by Vicki Grant is a YA thriller told across two timelines and 3 POVs. It's a group of three friends, and one of them is in a coma. Some folks think that she took drugs at a party, but Davida thinks something more nefarious is afoot. There's also the storyline of working at the med school and practicing simulations for the students. So, all to say, there's a lot going on in this book. Definitely worth checking out for fans of the genre.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.

Thank you to @netgalley & @vickygrantya for sending me an e-ARC of this!! I really enjoyed this very dark YA. The twists and turns had me gasping & kept me hooked the entire time. The ending had me shocked & THEN the rest of the ending had me literally screaming. If you want a “what the actual F!” book, this is for you. I never know if i’m just dumb or if everyone is always shocked at plot twists as i am???

This book follows Viv, a girl who seems to have it all; the boyfriend, the good grades, popularity. But her home life has been coming a part, her mom has all but lost it, and her dad is dating her former nanny. Things aren’t always what they seem. Viv deals with stress by drinking in secret to get her through the days and nights.

The book starts off with Viv in a coma after taking a certain drug and the police are questioning her friends and family. It’s not clear if the overdose was intentional or accidental or an attempted murder. One of Viv’s coworkers and friends is determined to clear Viv’s name and find out who did this to her. She just can’t imagine that Viv would intentionally take drugs.

I found this book to be really propulsive, due mostly to the mystery aspect of it. I really wanted to know what happened! There were some twists that were surprises and some that were pretty easy to see coming.

My criticism is that the book jumped around a LOT. Between different people and different points in time. And the narratives of other people were so quick, it was hard to get super invested in the other subplots.

Also, there should be trigger warnings for this book. There were a lot of really challenging topics that were brought up, and would be triggering to a lot of people.

Tell Me When You Feel Something is a YA thriller about a teenage girl named Viv who is found in a coma after taking a pill at a party. No one knows what really happened but everyone has a part to play. I think this story had the potential to be interesting; however, the format was challenging due to how quickly POV's changed. Although this is not normally a struggle for me, it made the story feel choppy and detracted from the story line. I thought more interesting parts included a simulated patient concept and working at a medical school but these were sort of glanced over. Overall an ok read, but relatively forgettable. Thank you to Net Galley, Vicki Grant, and Penguin Teen for providing me with an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Tell Me When You Feel Something by Vicki Grant is a YA thriller about a teenage girl named Viv that is in a coma after ingesting a pill at a party. Where did this pill come from? The main setting of this book is a medical school where high school students volunteer as simulated patients. This part of story was interesting. There are a lot of difficult topics discussed in this book, and the storyline jumps around a lot from character to character. I didn't really enjoy this book because of how difficult it was to read. Thanks to NetGalley for the free digital review copy. All opinions are my own.

It is slow but I still enjoy the book pretty well. It is a book that consists of several POVs and I always enjoy books with several POVs. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the eARC

This one was okay, but definitely not my favorite book I've read. I don't think it lives up to those popular YA Thrillers we all know any love. It was just alright, kinda forgettable to be honest.
