This three-chapter sampler gave us a glimpse into the Grisha world, but nothing more than what we already knew from the ending of King Of Scars. The stakes, plot, setting, and character conflicts are all pretty similar to the first book. The chapters follow Nina, Nikolai (and thus Zoya), and Queen Mahki of Shu Han. Surprisingly, I found Queen Mahki’s chapter the most interesting, and I hope we get more from her and her family in this final book. Overall, I will be reading the full novel once it releases, but it wasn’t these chapters that influenced my opinion.

I won't be giving a review on my blog for this since this is just a sample, but I will be reviewing it here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

This sample was so amazing and it's getting me even more excited to get my copy of the book!

Characters:
I didn't know how much I needed more of Nikolai's humor until I read this- it was very refreshing. I also was happy to see Zoya, Nina, and Hanne again! I really like how Nina is still yearning for more instead of just being stuck in a different body and following Hanne and Brum.

Plot:
So far, the plot is off to a great start- it's quick, entertaining, and action packed. I can't wait for more!

Worldbuilding:
As always, Leigh Bardugo's worldbuilding is amazing! When she described Fjerda in Nina's perspective, I felt like I was actually there and it made me very relaxed and immersed. Though this is more on the topic of the writing style, which I also have to applaud.

Relationships:
I was excited to see more of Nina and Hanne and Zoya and Nikolai, but it's just the first three chapters, so I understand. I love the conflict with Nikolai having to marry someone else- I'm there for it!

Overall, this sample was amazing and it hooked me from the start. Thank you so much for the arc!

Wow this sample may only contain three chapters but it definitely left me wanting to read more. Each chapter cleverly is the point of view of a different character so the reader is left to decide who is good , who is bad and who is possibly something in between ! Fans of the original Grisha stories will no doubt be clamouring for more as they will be desperate to discover what their favourite characters will get up to next.
This voluntary take is of a sleek peek which I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Oh Saints! This teaser was so good!!! Literally dying to read the rest of the book!!
Just release the damn book now.
Also, is it just me of did it feel like every single line said by Nikolai was just iconic? Also I missed Nikolai and Zoya so much.
I'll probably reread King of Scars waiting for my Rule of Wolves copy to arrive.

Bardugo's Grisha universe with 6 (going on 7) full novels to its name is complex and enthralling.
Traits made only more exciting and convincing by the rich lore and deliberate world building in companion books.

This 'Rule of Wolves' starts with a fresh POV and an intantly enriching perspective to the events of the last book,
It packs enough punch to make you perch on the edge of your seat waiting for the full thing.

3.5 ⭐️ but this can change whenever I finish the whole series, I may comeback and edit this review.

I started this and later found out that is the second part of a series, and that is better to read a previous books before this ones, so the spoiler I got is huge. But I really liked what I read and planning to read all of this books. Thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group for the Sample copy,

I am so not ready to leave the Grishaverse behind! The first chapter was so interesting given the POV of the Shu Queen. I can’t wait to know more!

Not a bad start, I like that it picks up some time later after the events of the first book. Since this is a duology, I am very curious how everything will be wrapped up in one book.

Honestly, I couldn't be more exited for this book. We are 2 days from the release day and this sneak peek remind me how much I love those characters and how much they give me comfort. As always, Leigh's writing is amazing!! I know that's its just a little sneek peek, but it feels like coming home. <3

After finished King of Scars a few months ago I was immediately reminded how much I love these characters. This sampler did not disappoint. I can't wait to read the rest!

I’ve expected this book since I finished “king of scars” and for now I can say that I’m satisfied. I can’t wait to read the whole book. Those chapters were amazing, the perfect start for what I think will be the most amazing book of 2021.

Based on this sampler, I am very excited to see how the Nikolai Duology concludes and how all the plotlines that were set up in previous Grishaverse installments will be resolved. The introduction of the perspective of the Shu Queen seems like an interesting way to show Grishaverse readers more of Shu Han, a territory that has not been explored much before, and the first of Nina, Nikolai and Zoya's point of view chapters appear to set up somtehing that will lead to an epic conclusion. I cannot wait to read the full novel soon.

This snippet was everything I could have hoped for and more. Cannot wait until Rule of Wolves comes out and we see what Nikolai and friends get into!!!

The first three chapters of Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo are completely engrossing, interesting, and begin to bring all of the parts of the Grishaverse together. While Inej is still my favorite POV character of Bardugo's, I loved seeing Queen Makhi's perspective. Her relationship with Ehri is the most compelling part of the novel so far.

One thing that bothers me is that when talking to the Suli, the Native people of the occupied land known as "Ravka," Nikolai seems to ignore the fact that the Saints seem to have colonized the land. I am not sure if this was intentional, but I'm kind of hoping for Nikolai to be unseated from his throne by the end of the novel.

I'm also looking forward to maybe having POV chapters from Hanne. I would love to see what her relationship with Jarl Brum is like, as so far, we've only seen Brum from the Crows' perspectives. Overall, this excerpt definitely made me want to read more, and with the [redcated because of spoilers], I'm hoping for an epic end to this series.

I am introduced by this book and will be reading the series. I did not know, until starting it & doing some research, that this book is the second in a series called King of Scars, therefore I don’t feel like I can give it a fully honest review until I’ve read the first book in the series. I will say, that after this sampler, I will be reading the first one!
