Two women with a lot of secrets meet up at a park and form an uneasy relationship. what is real, what is paranoia, and guilt. the secrets are revealed slowly over time and most of them made sense. Jess's relationship with her husband was not presented as clearly and a curveball was thrown in and seemed unnecessary. Jess in particular grew as her acceptance of her situation grew. Interesting read

I'd read and loved Ransomed so knew I would like this one as well and it did not disappoint! When Jess and daughter Grace meet Daisy and Morag in the park she whispers to Jess, "She's not my mum." So of course Jess is stunned but not sure what to do as these two are strangers to her. So much happens! Twists and turns that will make your head spin and keep you guessing until the end! If Morag isn't the mother then who is and why would she have abducted Daisy? Don't plan on any adulting until you've finished this thriller as you won't be able to put it down!

Mummy's Little Secret by M.A. Hunter, published by One More Chapter/ Harper Collins UK, is a gripping stand-alone. A mystery with thriller elements that had me in suspense from the first till the last page.
Jess meets a little girl that murmures a sentence that will change her whole life.
She opens a can of worms/ Pandora's Box. But some things rather stay hidden.
A heartwrenching twisty read that gave me all the feels. An unputdownable pageturner.

Jess, wheelchair bound after an accident, meets Morag and her daughter Grace in the park. When Grace confides that Morag is not her mother, Jess is determined to understand why Morag is lying. Her husband and mother think she's paranoid in her suspicions but she won't let it go. A cleverly structured thriller that grabs your attention from the first paragraph and keeps you hooked till the end.

For some reason I had trouble staying interested in this book. The story line moved at a reasonable pace and there was suspense. There were also a few twists. On the whole it was entertaining enough to finish but not my favorite book. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This book is a rapidly moving psychological thriller which builds the suspense chapter by chapter. You will be holding your breath and reading into the wee small hours to find out what happens next. It is written from more than one perspective and you are left wondering who’s perspective is real and whose is not true, you will read and agree with both sides, indeed three sides! A great book which is easy to read and which will twist and turn in ways you cannot anticipate!

This is a good thriller overall. The family situations are described quite realistically. There are lots of twists with some more surprising than others. It is an easy summer beach read!

I knew when I saw M.A. Hunter on this one, I would want to read it. I was not disappointed. I'm fairly new to Hunter's books, but the ones I've read I consumed very quickly and this one was no different.

I wasn't prepared for the twists and turns this one took. I thought I had it all figured out and was pleasantly surprised when each time my guess was wrong. I had to keep turning the page to find answers and I wasn't ever ready to set it down.

I appreciate the writing and editing skill it takes to breakdown a story and tell it from 2 pov and from 2 places in times. The bounce between past and present really sets a tone and carries the book for me.

Thank you Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for the review copy.

Another great book by M.A. Hunter. I have read a few by this author and all have been good, including this one, Hooked from the first page, I thought I had figured out a few times who the baddie was but then something happened and I had to rethink it. A great psychological story that keeps you wanting more. I highly recommend this book and author.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. When I requested this book, there was no blurb, but the title and cover were enough to draw my interest. I didn't know what to think about this book when I started it. The suspense was definitely good, and I kept changing my mind about who the bad guy was. Just when you think you have it figured out, new key players are identified and new secrets come to light. Very good ending!

I honestly cannot come up with enough superlatives to praise this book. Although I was unable to find a synopsis anywhere, I have read other work by M.A Hunter so thought I'd take a chance on it. I'm so glad I did, it is a superb read. The chapters were written alternately from the points of view of both Jess and Morag and I felt that this gave me more of an insight into their characters as well as feeding my curiosity. Then when the police were introduced into the mix I knew I would be reading well into the early hours. There was no way I could put this book down.

Wow. This book kept me turning the pages till the wee hours of the morning. A fabulous psychological thriller with lots of twists to keep you intrigued. A great group of characters that are easy to like and week described by the author. When she became paralyzed from the waist down because of an accident during childbirth, Jess felt her life fall apart. Confined to a wheel chair, battling depression and the loss of her baby she is struggling to even function. When a child approaches her and says “she’s not my mother” everything changes. Told through the eyes of Jess and Morag you will go back and forth trying to decide what is reality and what is a delusion. A quick moving story full of mystery and it will keep you on your toes trying to figure out the story. Excellent book. Thanks to Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for allowing me to read this fabulous book. This is a great author so check out some of their other books.
