Vince Taylor has it all: he is CEO of KitzTech, which has made him very wealthy, and he is married to the love of his life, Nicole. The only thing missing is a baby that they both desperately want, but have so far been unable to conceive. It has started to drive a silent wedge between the two of them, this grief they share. Then one day, a new intern walks into KitzTech. Her name is Layla.... and she is trouble. Vince isn't able to resist her charms and then when he tries to break it off with her, she winds up dead. Now Vince is the prime suspect.....
This is told in the voices of Vince, Layla, Nicole and the lead detective on the case, and they also do back and forth between present and before the murder. there are lots of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. If you are in the mood for a mystery that is a good, quick read than this is perfect for you.

attractive CEO + cute, young intern + bad decisions = The Guilty Husband

Brief Synopsis: Vince is the CEO of KizTech, a software firm. He’s attractive, smart, and married. Layla is a young intern at his company. She’s described as quiet, but very bright and ambitious. When detectives Allison Barnes and her partner show up at the KizTech office to investigate the murder of Layla, we immediately sense that Vince is on edge and lying about several things. One of those being his relationship with the dead intern. This is detective Barnes first time to lead a major homicide investigation, so she’s not letting anything slide. Vince and Layla both have skeletons in their closets. Who would want to take them down and why?

Thoughts: It’s hard to believe this is Stephanie DeCarolis’ debut novel. I really like her writing style, it’s detailed but easy to follow. Clues were revealed at just the right pacing. The characters and the storyline were believable which is something I enjoy in a book. By the end, all secrets came to light and all details merged together wonderfully. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys domestic dramas, thrillers, or crime mysteries. I look forward to others from this author.

Thank you to Stephanie DeCarolis, HQ, and NetGalley for this eARC.

Very good read. Vince Taylor, the guilty husband, cheats on his wife Nicole with Layla Bosch a young intern. Layla ends up dead and all fingers point to Vince. Throughout the book, you follow Vince trying to show that he is innocent. You also, later on, see the viewpoint of Layla. You also see Nicole's viewpoint. All in all a pretty good book.

I received a lot of Gone Girl vibes while reading The Guilty Husband. Although I thought I knew 'Who Did It', I was guessing until the very end.

I really enjoyed the multiple points of view in the book, getting the full perspective is helpful.

I cannot wait to read more by Stephanie because she has a way to engross the reader by turning pages faster and faster.

Thank you to HQ, Stephanie DeCarolis, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

Who Is To Be Believed..?
Who is to be believed? A seemingly perfect husband with a seemingly perfect life, a clandestine affair and a murder. Things begin to get complicated. Engaging, quick reading suspense with a well trodden premise but really none the worse for that. Enjoyable reading.

I received an advance reader, scopy in exchange for an honest review.
This thriller was slow going but I found myself getting sucked in as the story deepened. The protagonist and the dead girl don’t come off so well but I found the lady cop likable and that kept me reading as I wanted her to win. Not a Booker prize winner but it just fine 3 1/2 star digital thriller

I thoroughly enjoyed this debut book by author Stephanie DeCarolis. The twists and turns as secrets from the past were unraveled and revealed kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. And I didn’t expect the ending! I enjoyed the development that the author had in this story with the plot and the characters. I can’t wait to read more books by her in the future!

The title is The Guilty Husband but don’t make any guesses based on that. Vince Taylor is a rich, self made business man based in New York. Well, is he self made? What role has his wife Natalie played in his success? Everything is up for grabs in this gripping book. It has a very cleverly designed plot which keeps readers wanting more. The characters are well drawn and perfect for their roles. The style of story telling where the plot is recounted slowly from the point of view of each character works well. The conclusion can be guessed as the plot unravels but is nevertheless a clever summary. This is a very well conceived and written book. I recommend it.

From the very first page this thriller hooked me in.
With a crisp narrative and an interesting storyline, the plot unravels at a good pace.
What I really liked about this book that it was fairly simple, with no fancy tricks. This made it stand out for me amongst other complex thrillers with lots of twists and turns and red herrings. That is not to say that the conclusion was not what I was expecting.
This debut novel from this author will certainly encourage me to read her next book.
This is an honest and independent review based on the ARC from NetGalley.

Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and Stephanie DeCarolis for this advance review copy of The Guilty Husband.

I WAs impressed with this a a debut novel, DeCarolis' writing is pacy and engaging with enough detail to engross you in the characters. Importantly there were enough snippets of information dropped throughout the book to keep it engrossing, i didn't guess the killer until well into the book.

The Guilty Husband tells the story of successful, wealthy businessman Vince Taylor and his wife Nicole. They are struggling to get pregnant which creates tension in marriage and Vince begins an affair with an intern at work who is found murdered and Vince immediately comes under suspicion.

I enjoyed the narrative from different perspectives and this worked well to develop and flesh out the story. A straightforward read and ideal as a beachside companion (when we are allowed to have holidays again!) I read it in an afternoon and enjoyed it.

Very slow. The book became just a man being too descriptive, in as far as even his shower, his hair. The book could have been half, not so well even them.

This book was a really interesting read. I wasn't completely invested in it but I couldn't put it down.

I much preferred the present day parts of the book but loved seeing the police investigation unravel as they closed in.

I guessed the killer about 70% of the way through the book but it still didnt stop me reading to the end.

I am really looking forward to reading more of Stephanie's books.

Thank you to NetGalley, Stephanie DeCarolis and Harper Collins for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

There was a lot I liked about this book. It held my interest and kept me guessing. The "before" and "after" is a theme I like in books and it worked well here.

Often with books like this, there's something that let's it down, the author rushes the ending or wimps out at delivering the perfect twist but I had no faults with this book. Everything tied in nicely. Perhaps some of the back story could have been explored and explained further but there nothing I think I would have changed overall.

I can see The Guilty Husband being snapped up to appear on the big screen.

First, I want to thank NetGalley, HQ and Stephanie DeCarolis for this eARC in exchange for my honest review!

Synopsis: Vince Taylor, CEO of a software company, has everything he could dream of: the career, the houses, and a beautiful blonde yoga instructor wife, Nicole. Except, when an intern at his company, Layla, ends up dead, he’s under suspicion. Vince lies to the police, but the truth is he was having an affair with Layla. If Vince lied about his relationship with Layla, what else is he willing to lie about?

Rating: 4.25/5

Wow! I’m so impressed by Stephanie DeCarolis’ debut novel!

The characters were so easy to love and hate. There were many characters introduced throughout the story but they were all needed to develop the story! I also loved that DeCarolis had a lawyer in the story since she is a lawyer!

The plot was set up great! First you learn of a dead intern. Next it is uncovering secrets and lies from the past with twists from new characters. There was almost a slow burn in some parts but by the end I couldn’t put the book down! I kept trying to figure out who killed Layla and DeCarolis kept throwing in twists where I had to change my thoughts! I was never right! She did an excellent job tying the story together so beautifully!

I will definitely recommend this story and will be looking for DeCarolis’ books in the future!

Another one day marathon read. Super rich Vince, the CEO of an Internet development compant is cheating on his beautiful wife, Nicole. When his mistress is found dead in Central Park of blunt force trauma, Vince is the obvious suspect, but is he the murderer, or is someone else? Lots of lies and twists made this mystery a fast and fun read.
