This is the 2ne book in the debut cozy series "Tea By The Sea" by cozy author Vicki Delany. Delany also writes the Lighthouse cozy series under the pen name of Eva Gates. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley. My review opinions are my own. I had read the first in series and always enjoy returning to a cozy set by the sea in Cape Cod where a tearoom is the highlight of the series. Delicious foods, lovely tea,, great charcters and of course a fun sleuth set this series apart for the ultimate reader enjoyment.

Our protagnist Lily is happily managing her popular tearoom and settling into her new life on Cape Cod as the tearoom owner and creator of wonderful high teas for the tourist and locals. When a visit from a family friend turns into a family fracas at the tearoom, a death occurs and the tearoom is under suspicion for a deadly poisoning. . Lily must utilize all her skills to save her business and find the real; suspect.

This was a enjoyable next in series with a fun sleuth. The charcters all add to the fun and the tearoom descriptions are wonderful. This avid cozy reader was surprised by the ending that kept me turning pages to conclusion. A fun addition to this new cozy series.

Murder in a Teacup by Vicki Delany is the second in the Tea by the Sea Mystery and a better setting there was . . . never. Lily's grandmother, Rose has guests, which is good since her home is a B & B. They are her friend Sandra, and three additional generations of her family. Sandra is Rose's old friend from Iowa and may be the only likeable one of the bunch. Sandra's granddaughter, Heather is hosting this mess. Heather had married a man, in Iowa, who had struck it reach when he sold his computer business and they had moved to New York City. Tragedy struck when he was hit by a cab and was killed, but Heather inherited his millions. Now she was footing the bill for this "reunion." Sadly, she had also invited her brother-in-law and his wife, who didn't get along with the other side of the family at all. Lily is Rose's granddaughter. She works at the B & B as the cook for the breakfast portion and she walks down the hill to a cottage she has transformed into a tea ship, which is proving to be very successful. She does all the baking and has a mother/daughter team to do the serving and such.

Of course, there is a murder. Of course, the police shut down the teashop. Thankfully neither Lily nor her grandmother are suspects. The conclusion is a surprise as are the reasons for the murder. The investigation leading to the solution is an interesting one, fraught with other situations, some dangerous, some not. The full crew is there and an amazing bunch of people they are. They make for a well-rounded story, full of additional angst and promise. Delany writes a good story, full of interesting information and red herrings, which make the reader guess right up until the end. I enjoyed being back in North Augusta with this bunch. I recommend it.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Murder in a Teacup by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #murderinateacup

Murder in a Teacup is the second in this cozy mystery series. I enjoyed the tea shop setting, great food descriptions, and there are a number of interesting characters. I recommend reading the series in order but I believe Murder in a Teacup can be read as a standalone.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. The opinions are honest and my own. #CozyMystery

Going in, I have to admit that I was interested in this series because I really enjoyed her Sherlock Holmes Bookshop series. She is a great author for cozy mysteries and I am usually drawn into the story right away. This one was a little tougher to get into for me. I am not sure if it is because of the different characters and setting but I had to read a few chapters before getting involved in the story. As an animal lover, I love that she features them in her stories (Eclair was so sweet). This is a good series if you are a fan of the author or looking for a cozy mystery to relax with and enjoy!

A fun second book in this series. The Cape Cod tearoom setting is the vacation we need at this time and it is perfect for a cozy mystery series. There are lots of potential suspects.

I am beginning to adore the Tea by the Sea Series.

Murder in a Teacup takes us back to the Massachusetts coast line with Lily and grandma Rose for another adventure. Grandma Rose is visited by family and friends that have insisted that during their stay they must do you High Tea at the Tea by the Sea. The serene setting of the tea room may have just been too much for this group of colorful and distinctive personalities because chaos is on the loose. In the midst of everything one of the visiting parties dies of poisoning putting Tea by the Sea on the map as a suspect. Lily, Grandma Rose and Bernie come together to try to figure out just what is going on in that tea shop.

Vicky Delany is a fantastic storyteller. I love how she is able to combine A very thought-provoking mystery while allowing you to laugh out loud at her characters. She creates a pleasant environment that you just can’t help but to feel cozy in. Not to mention the characters she writes have depth, are funny and at times even remind you of someone in your own life. I love the duo of Lily and grandma Rose. That is a team that I can’t wait to see what is going to come out of them in future books. As for Murder in a Teacup, this is one that is best to not even try to figure it out but to just sit back and read and go along for the ride. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Delany has in store for future installments in the series.

Murder in a Teacup by Vicki Delany is the 2nd book in the Tea by the Sea Mystery series, and another fun book. Lily owns the tea shop in Cape Cod, which keeps her busy enough, and her grandmother, Rose, owns the Victorian B & B next door. Rose's dear friend, Sandra McHenry, and her family come to Rose's B&B for a family reunion. All the family does is fight, and when of the family is poisoned, Lily is determined to find the truth. I enjoyed this cozy mystery, and I was really surprised who the killer was. I highly recommend this book, and am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The McHenrys and the Frenchs are about as friendly with each as the Hatfields and McCoys. The question is why would recently widowed Heather French nee McHenry invite them all to a free vacation with her. The McHenrys themselves can’t stop arguing with each other. But when one of Heather’s guests is poisoned with literally Murder in a Teacup, the tea shop’s owner, Lily, must solve the crime. No one’s shop needs that type of publicity.

Wow, I was totally blindsided by the mystery’s solution. I ignored all the clues and instead caught a creel of red herrings. There is a final twist in the plot that I also didn’t expect.

If you want to read a challenging cozy mystery, Murder in a Teacup is the perfect book for you. 5 stars!

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I'm a huge fan of Vicky Delany and loved Murder in a Teacup. I this this is not her best book as I found it a bit repetitive and the mystery seemed a bit weak to me.
I was happy to catch with Lily, Rose and Bernie. The descriptions of food were mouthwatering but somehow the book didn't keep my attention.
The dysfunctional family would be perfect in a domestic thriller, they were a bit over the top and grated on my nerves.
I guessed who-did-it soon in the book but I love Lily investigating.
I want to read other books in this series, this one is not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This is the 2nd installment in the Tea by the Sea mystery series. Lily Roberts recently moved to Cape Code from Manhattan to help her Grandmother Rose run her Victorian B&B and she has set up her own Tea Shoppe which offers a true English afternoon tea. Her Grandmother Rose is very excited that her friend Sandra McHenry from Iowa is coming to visit along with her Granddaughter Heather and it turns out the whole McHenry clan has tagged along as Heather is paying the bill. Heather’s a widow and her deceased husband’s brother and wife (Ed and Trisha French) were also invited by Heather as she wants everyone to make peace. Well that does not appear to be the case as the entire family appears to be at odds and the McHenry clan appears to have no love loss for Ed and Trisha. After having the Royal Tea at Lily’s shop, Ed begins to feel unwell and that evening he is taken to the hospital where he dies. The police immediately shut down her shop. Lily wants to stay out of investigating, however, her best friend Bernie and Grandma Rose all want to investigate. When it looks like the death may have a negative impact on her business Lily joins the investigation. This was a good mystery and I love the relationship of Rose and Lily along with Bernie and of course the love interests for both Lily and Bernie could be underway. I also like that Detective Redmond is softening just a bit but still wants to get the job done. Great recipes at the end that I cannot wait to try. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

A family reunion turns deadly when a man dies the same day the family has tea at Tea By the Sea. Even though it is quickly proven that Lily and her staff have nothing to do with the man's death, Lily still looks into the case. Rose still treats her granddaughter more like a servant instead of someone taking the time from her own business to help her grandmother with hers, but she's not as bad as what she was in the first book. Lily gives Bernie a deadline to produce an outline for a book.

I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher and/or author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am loving this series and hanging out with the good folks in North Augusta. Rose is a hoot and I think you will be entertained by her. Lily and Bernie are such good friends and play off each other so well. Simon and Matt added to the mix adds some additional interest and excitement. This storyline was great and I really enjoyed it. Oh, and let’s not forget the guest at the B & B. Where would we be without them? I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

Murder in a Teacup is the 2nd book in the Tea By The Sea series. This is an enjoyable cozy mystery with likable characters, an interesting mystery, and potential romance. Lily runs a teashop and Lily and her grandmother Rose coown a B&B and the tea shop. Lily's friend Bernadette (Bernie) is an aspiring author. The gardner on the property is Simon and their neighbor is Matt. Rose's friend Sandra and her family are coming to stay at the B&B. All they do is bicker. When one of the guests dies of poisoning while having tea at the tea shop, Lily, Rose and Bernie need to figure out what happened. The book starts out a little slow but the ending is really good with some twists and turns to keep it interesting. #NetGalley #MurderInATeacup #VickiDelany #KensingtonBooks

This is the second book in the Tea by the Sea series. Lily's tea room is doing well with the influx of tourists. Rose has friends visiting from Iowa. The family bickers about every little thing. Lily must clear the tea room's reputation after a family member dies in Tea By The Sea.

This is a very good series that keeps your attention. I love the setting! I am a bit of a tea snob so I really appreciate the eye to detail about the tea service.

The characters are well rounded and it feels like visiting with friends as you read. The ongoing grumbling between Rose and Edna make me laugh. I love that Edna stands up for herself and doesn't let Rose browbeat her.

Rose's friend, Sandra, has a most obnoxious family. The family took advantage of Heather simply because she has more money than they do. It was often hard to read.

Bernie cracks me up with her writing. It is amusing to watch her flit from one subject to another as she attempts to write her novel. Perhaps Matt will settle her down a bit both personally and professionally.

Simon is a great character. I like that in addition to gardening that he will jump in to help Lily with baking. Gotta love a man that can cook.

The revelation of the murderer took me a bit by surprise. I was looking at several other suspects.

The recipes at the end of the book sound delightful. I regret that I am not much of a baker. I do love a good shortbread.

This is a quick easy series to read. I look forward to catching up with the characters in the next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the opportunity to read this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another strong showing for Vicki Delany. This series makes me want to go to Cape Cod and have high tea. Delany’s descriptions of Lily’s menu items are simply mouth-watering, and the scenery and land/waterscapes come to life beautifully. Character development is settling in nicely; in addition, the dialogue portions show some serious skill. The mystery is engaging and well-paced. I partially fell for a red herring and was surprised by the reveal.

A few negatives: there are too many characters introduced too quickly to keep them straight for quite a while: a character list would have been helpful. The murder victim and weapon are painfully obvious, and having the police spill large chunks of detail feels like unrealistic plot manipulation.

Overall, Murder in a Teacup shows a talented author hitting her stride in an enticing series. I hope there are many episodes to come and look forward to joining the characters for them.

Thank you to Vicki Delany, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.

Murder in a Teacup by Vicki Delany is a wonderful cozy mystery that is the second book in the new series: A Tea By the Sea Mystery. This is the first series that I have read by this author and I am signing on the fan bandwagon as of now!

I know, I know I am late to the game in regards to Ms. Delany, but I am here now, so it counts. I have not read the first book in this series yet, Tea & Treachery, but I just purchased the Kindle version and it is next on my list. I definitely did not need to read it first, but one can truly enjoy the progression of the characters and relationships presented if they read the books in order.

This is a lovely cozy mystery set in Cape Cod/Massachusetts and I thought the addition of the Tea Room business was cute and quaint. Lily has her work cut out for her with her feisty Grandmother Rose and her paired B&B. They end up being roped into a murder/mystery that was fairly well laid out, but I still enjoyed the simplicity and pacing of it nevertheless. The cast of characters are unique, eclectic, and make this related duo well-rounded.

The food mentioned is welcoming and I am looking forward to reading more from this beautiful location and from the fun and entertaining characters.

5/5 stars

Thank you NG and Kensington for this wonderful arc and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.

Never underestimate the power of an eighty-year old, lol! At least Rose Campbell proved it over and over so far in this series, and this book was definitely not a disappointment. I just love Rose's character and how she's always getting out of working the breakfast at the tearoom. She loves Lily fiercely, but she just not the soft and cuddly granny we sometimes see in these books. Rose and Bernie always make for a great sleuthing team, but sometimes I feel bad for Lily who usually gets left out due to having to work the tearoom.

The families staying at the B&B this time for a so-called reunion would give the Ewings of Dallas and the Channings of Napa Valley a real run for their money in the drama department, lol. I guess I basically pictured the Ewing clan only upgraded with phones and tablets. I'm glad that Det. Redmond got to play an important part eventually. That Det. Williams, well let's just say the author's done a great job creating a character no one likes! On the other hand, Simon's such a sweetheart that I really hope Lily lets him closer into her life sometime in the future. Matt turned out to be a good person for Bernie to hang with-maybe being a writer, he'll help her overcome some of her writing issues she always has.

That was some awesome showdown! At least part of Lily's plan worked out. And they finally got peace from this crazy bickering family when they left. I can't wait to see what Lily, Rose and Bernie get into in the next book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.
