This is just a fun series, plus the recipes at the end are on point (I'm excited to try the shortbread). The setting is delightful and I very much want to attend high tea! While I sometimes find Bernie frustrating (because woman, get it together!), overall, the cast of characters is really enjoyable. I didn't entirely predict the ending, which is always a plus for a mystery. I'm definitely going to keep reading this series as it goes along!

I am finding that I really like the way this author writes. This is a good thing since I have now managed to start part way through two of her series so I have plenty of back reading to catch up on! I also just learned that she writes the Lighthouse Library series under the name of Eva Gates - another series I really enjoy.

Murder in a Teacup is set in and around Lily Roberts' tea shop named Tea by the Sea. Set in the beautiful grounds of her grandmother's guesthouse, this is a genuine tea shop serving only afternoon tea, coffee and cake and special High Teas. They sound delicious especially as it is all baked on the premises by Lily herself.

When Grandma Rose is visited by a close friend and seven family members they are bound to have High Tea one afternoon at Tea by the Sea and unfortunately one of them dies apparently from poisoning. Could it have been from something consumed at the meal? The police are involved, much trouble ensues and of course Lily, Rose and friend Bernie get together to try and solve the crime.

This was a really entertaining, light hearted read. The mystery is intriguing, the possible culprits are many and the solution totally surprising.

Thank you NetGalley, Vicki Delany and Kensington Books for the ARC of Murder in a Teacup. This is my personal review.
Murder in a Teacup is the second book in the series Tea by the Sea Mysteries. I had not read the first in the series but had no trouble getting to know the characters in the story.
Lily is the owner of Tea by the Sea tearoom located not too far from her Grandmother Rose’s B&B.
The setting of this book at the Tearoom is perfect. I can see the location clearly as I was reading the book.
When one of the family members dies Lily, Rose and Bernie decided that they are going to figure out exactly what happened. Following the trail of clues is good without giving the mystery away as to what did happen to early in the story.
Vicki Delany is a new author for me to read.

Lily's Grandmother Rose is getting a visit from her friend Sandra McHenry along with Sandra's family. However, Heather, Sandra's granddaughter, has also invited the Frenches, her in-laws, who are no friends to the McHenrys. Things get a little tense and boil over when Ed French dies of poisoning and the McHenrys are lead suspects. Lily has to work fast because the poisoning took place in her tea shop and if she wants to save her business, she has to find the murderer.

This was a fun mystery and well thought out. I thought that maybe I'd missed some clues at the end but the finish was great!

A wonderful setting that draws you and makes you want to be a visitor to the B&B as well as the tea shop, but the characters are the true anchors of the story. Lily in particular is someone that you would love to sit and drink tea with and I aspire to be as ornery and fun as her Aunt Rose when I age! The supporting cast is as relatable as the main characters so you'll be diving into the story and connecting to them as well. Add to this mix of setting and characters a well thought out plot that has a multitude of potential suspects and you have a recipe for delightful entertainment for hours on end!

We, the reader, is introduced to so many characters in this second book of the series. Granted they are just for this story, but you learn a lot about them and the entanglement of their lives. This story shows the reader how greed, money, and power can influence this family. Rather it be for the good or bad.

Of course someone dies at the Inn, but it seems as though it isn't someone I would think of as the character who gets killed off. I like that the author keeps you guessing and putting the clues together along with the main character.

I really enjoy this new series and look forward to the next in the series.

Lily Roberts owns Tea by the Sea. Her grandmother Rose Campbell owns the B and B .They often have a full house at both places. Heather French is a guest at the B and B. She has invited her family in hopes of reuniting them after years of separation. However it seems that most of them are only after her money and less interested in making amends. She also invites her late husbands brother , Ed French and his wife. Only days later Ed dies supposedly poisoned by the tea Lily served the family. Who hated Ed enough to oust him? His wife, his ex lover or a jealous husband? Can Lily , Rose and their friend Bernie figure out who did it without becoming victims themselves?

Another delightful addition to this series.
All the standard elements of a good cozy mystery.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

“Murder in a Teacup” by Vicki Delany the 2nd instalment in the “Tea by the Sea Mysteries”. This was a great follow up to the first book and firmly placed it in my favourites. Vicki Delany has become one of my favourite cozy mystery authors, I’m never disappointed when I pick up one of her books.

I found myself engrossed in the story and reading in couple days. It was entertaining, full of twists and turns and delectable food.

The mystery is interesting and well plotted, and kept me guessing till the very end. I love the main character of Lily, her grandmother Rose, Simon, and her BFF Bernie. Bernie still has trouble focusing on one thing when comes to her novel, but I think she is just easily distracted and wants to do it all.

I won’t go into detail about the mystery as the book blurb does an amazing job of it but I will say if you like afternoon tea, the seaside, and a great mystery then this series is for you. Includes recipes at back of book ... yummy

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

Once again, I loved this second book in the Tea by the Sea Cozy mystery series. I've enjoyed all of the other Vicki Delany/Eva Gates mysteries I've read. She's one of my favorite cozy mystery authors of all so I always know I'll be in for a treat when I'm able to read a cozy from her.

This second delightful book in the series did not disappoint. Lily owns a traditional English tearoom right near her grandmother's B&B on Cape Cod. While she seems to spend much of her time cooking breakfast for the B&B and baking for the tearoom, Lily, along with her grandmother Rose and her friend Bernadette (Bernie) manage to solve the crime once again. Absolutely love the terrific secondary characters in this series, too.

Hoping for many more in this charming Tea by the Sea series. Highly recommended!!

Fast, easy read that follows the cozy formula well. Nothing remarkable or memorable about the setting or the story to be blunt. It falls into the plug and play segment of the genre.

This book was really interesting. I love the tea room setting. I can relate to that. The mc is a very strong and realistic character. I was so caught up in this book that I finished it in one afternoon. If you like a strong female lead and a very ingenious mystery, than this cozy is for you. I definitely recommend this book

Trouble When The Tea Turns Deadly...
The second in the Tea By The Sea Mystery series and there’s trouble stirring in Cape Cod when the tea turns deadly. Enjoyable, fun cosy mystery with a likeable protagonist and a colourful cast of supporting characters not to mention a delightful setting. A worthy follow on from the first.

Vicki Delany is one of my favourite cozy authors, this is the third of her series I’m reading. I feel like you can’t go wrong with her writing. A tearoom by the sea is a perfect cozy setting, especially one connected to a B&B. All that being said I do prefer her lighthouse series (written under the name Eva Gates) & her Christmas year round series a tiny bit more. I can’t quite put my finger on it, it could simply be that with more books in the series I’ve gotten more attached to characters & the towns. Lily’s best friend Bernie is an eccentric would be author, I hope we get to know her more. And her grandma Rose is a delight. This is a good mystery, the list of suspects were eclectic & intriguing & the location is perfect. I liked all the family drama, it added to the challenge of knowing who the murderer was. I did enjoy this book even more than the first, so I’m thinking as the series rolls on, I’m going to feel more & more optimistic about it all. I’ll be reading the third book.

Lily Roberts owns and runs the Tea by the Sea tearoom next door to her grandmother's B&B. Both are doing a good business which is great because they need the money to get through the leaner winter. Rose is pleased when her old friend Sandra is coming with her entire family for a reunion - The McHenrys. But things aren't what they seem: Sandra's granddaughter Heather married a man who became a millionaire and then conveniently died, is footing the bill. Plus, Heather has invited her in-laws, the French's, whom the McHenry clan doesn't like. It makes for a tense situation and bickering among the crowd, who all seem to have their own problems with each other.

While just hoping to get through the week while they're here. Lily just wants to serve her daily teas and get through it. However, things go awry when Ed French falls ill and is taken to the hospital, where he dies. When it's soon treated as a homicide, that's when the chaos starts. People start pointing fingers at each other -- including their pointing them at Lily and Rose -- and no one can figure out the truth. But Rose, Lily's best friend Bernie, and Lily (reluctantly) have to find out who killed Ed or their businesses might just go out with the tide forever...

This is the second book in the series, and I'm glad I read the first so I have a bit of familiarity with the characters. I also enjoyed this book as much as the previous one. I do like the fact that Lily doesn't go around accusing people of murder, but allows things to fall into place before putting them together. She remembers snippets of conversations that allow her to reveal the truth.

The McHenrys, in my mind, are an unpleasant band of people, and I wouldn't want to spend any time around them if I could help it. The Frenchs are, on the other hand, somewhat decent people. In any event, there are wonderful descriptions of the area around the B&B, and it makes one want to visit and take a walk along the pier.

When we get closer to the end everything comes together nicely, with an unexpected twist that no one saw coming, and it makes the book even more intriguing to read. Ms. Delany packs her mystery with both likable and unlikable characters, a delightful setting, and people you'd want to spend time with, and those you wouldn't. What results is a fun mystery that's a treat to read. Highly recommended.

Murder In A Teacup was a great culinary cozy mystery. I thought I had figured out the identity of the culprit, but I was surprised in the end. I love it when mysteries challenge you. The characters are fun and likeable. The setting made me want to schedule a trip to Cape Cod in the summer time. I can't wait to read the next installment. I received an advanced reader's copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

When her grandmother Rose's lifelong friend, Sandra, visits her B&B with her bickering brood, Lily has her hands full trying to keep the peace, and it's not long before one of their group is poisoned during afternoon tea, and Tea by the Sea is shut down for the police investigation! Was the tea shop's food tampered with, or did someone poison Ed's special blend of herbal tea?!? LOTS of suspects (and most of them related!) in Murder in a Teacup - Vicki Delany has written another stellar cozy mystery, and I'm really enjoying this new series! A+
