This is not the Disney fairy tales from the 50s. Expect a more modern take with a "fairy godmother" who has made bad decisions, lost her job, and moves away from the "night life" of Chicago to the smaller playground of Ever After. Potty mouth exclamations and references to sexy times only begins to round out the character of Zuri. Even Prince Charming has his more dirty moments and base moments. Overall, a story with charm and wit, as any self respecting fairy tale should have.

Zuri has kissed too many frogs and that's left her with a major problem. Most recently, she learned that the man she was dating was the groom in a wedding she was planning and that did not go well...at ALL!! She basically learned at the same time as everyone else, so she felt her career was shattered. She has one more chance to be a wedding planner, working for Fairy Godmothers, Inc. in Ever After and that was the best thing that could have happened to her. This is a really great story with some humor, sadness, and redemption.

Fairy tale with a twist! This is the second book in the Fairy Godmothers, Inc series by Saranna DeWylde and it was just as good as the first!!

When the charming, frog Prince of the B&B seeks to find his true love, he runs into an unfortunate deadline that has him scrambling to create his own HEA.

As Zuri is attempting to move on from an epic disaster, she is hired by the fairy godmothers that are attempting to help aide in her recovery. She never thought she’d end up in her own magical world that she never wanted to leave.

I loved that there were a lot of the same characters throughout but I feel like you wouldn’t miss much if you didn’t read the first one. I also loved the various fairy tales being told throughout but shows how an everyday person can create their own fairy tale.

If you grew up reading fairy tales, you will likely enjoy this book and this series. I have also read the first book and enjoyed it very much. This one is a retelling of the Frog Prince.

Ever After is a small town in Missouri where magic is real, and there are Fairy Godmothers who can grant your wishes, as well as other magical entities. In the first book, the two main characters were human. In this book, one of the main characters, Philip Charming, is a frog by day and a man by night. He runs a Bed and Breakfast in Ever After.

Zuri Davis is a human wedding planner who got a very unpleasant surprise at a client's wedding - it turned out she knew the groom rather too well. When Zuri came to work at Ever After, she was understandably soured on the whole notion of romance. I don't want to go into too much detail as this is a lovely, heartwarming story about how the man finally became the Prince at last.

I want to thank Kensington Books and Netgalley for giving me an advance reader copy. These are my honest opinions of the book.

Men Are Frogs is such a fun book! It has a fairytale romance with a true Prince Charming, a wedding planner with a heart of gold, a love story that will make you smile, and friendships that will warm your heart.

Zuri Davis is a wedding planner whose personal life and career took a hit when she found out her boyfriend was actually the groom in a wedding she was planning. She isn’t sure she believes love is in the cards for her when she is offered the position of wedding planner in the small town of Ever After, Missouri. Zuri has a tight bond with her twin, Zeva, but otherwise she’s quite lonely. She’s charmed by the magic of Ever After, although how magical the place is she doesn’t know at first. I adored watching her make friends with the residents of her new home (the strong female friendships in this book are fantastic). I wanted to hug Zuri and let her know she is definitely fit for the happily ever after she gives to others. She’s kind, generous, and truly listens to people. And though she’s done kissing metaphorical frogs to find her prince, maybe she needs to give an actual frog a chance.

Phillip is a frog prince – literally. He’s been cursed for nearly three hundred years to be a frog by day, only getting to be his Prince Charming self at night. I liked that Phillip has already done some growth at the beginning of the story. He apologizes and means it to the fairy godmothers he wronged, not because of what happened to him but because of what he did. He’s a good man with a kind heart and a sense of humor. I liked seeing his friendship with the beastly Hunter and to see him open himself up to more bonds of friendship with beings that others may be wary of. He and Zuri are a perfect match and they click from the very beginning. Both of them become their best selves over the course of Men Are Frogs and I liked how Saranna DeWylde tested them and their burgeoning relationship in an organic way. Zuri and Phillip are a couple you can root for and though some might not enjoy the insta-love aspect to their romance, I didn’t mind because it’s a fairytale, so why not?

Men Are Frogs delighted me from beginning to end. It’s an adult fairytale with charm, humor, and quirkiness. I cannot wait to see who fairy godmothers Petunia, Bluebonnet, and Jonquil pair up next!

I love the concept of this novel. The fairy godmothers are delightful! The magic castle is so creative and fun. I love how Philip and Zuri learn from their experiences. However, the book is steamer than my typical read and started to feel a bit long toward the end. Overall, it was a light, fun read that I 3.5 out of 5 stars.

This series is so quirky and dare I say... charming. I love all the fairy tale references and the fact that it's unabashedly over the top. Don't be fooled, the romance is surprisingly steamy for the cute cover and fairy tale style. I have no doubt I'll continue reading this series.

This was a well-written, entertaining book. It was funny, sexy, clever, heartwarming and I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

I love fairytales and this was a fun twist on a fairytale novel. Ever After is the perfect magical town where beloved characters from actual fairytales are mentioned. We have Hunter who is Beast, Ravenna who is The Evil Queen and let's not forget Petty, Bluebonnet and Jonquil who resemble the Fairy Godmothers from Cinderella. I loved all the characters in this book and they each had their own personality that added joy and laughter to the story. Zuri and Charming's love is so deep and you truly fall in love with their Happy Ever After and are rooting for their happiness.

While this book has magic and fairytale characters, this is most definitely not a YA book and very much an adult book with some spice. I enjoyed the book as a lover of fairytales however it did take me a while to get used to this being an adult book with a fairytale twist. I wasn't sure what to expect and at times it feel like "adult" and "fairytale" did not mesh well. This book was also predictable halfway through the book but overall this was a fun and easy read. I would definitely be interested in reading the first of this series.

In Men are Frogs, we return to the land of fairy tale magic, a small town in Missouri called Ever After. Now that Ransom and Lucky are off on their honeymoon after the “Billionaire Fake Wedding Turned Real,” the fairy godmothers of Fairy Godmothers, Inc., Petunia, Bluebonnet, and Jonquil are off to find their next match. They are still working on setting up Gwen, Lucky’s best friend, and Roderick, Ransom’s best friend, but they are ready to try to find a happy ending for the resident frog prince.

Phillip Charming has been living both the life of a frog and a man for the past three hundred years as part of a curse for a past mistake. He is a frog during the day and a man at night. He turned his castle into a B&B where his best friend Hunter also lives. Hunter is also known as a Beast due to his own curse that turned him into a permanent bear/werewolf-like hybrid. Both of them bond over their curses and both wish to find a way to break them. As time goes by with no hope in sight, that hope is slowly dwindling.

Zuri Davis and her twin sister Zeva are the only family that each other has left after the mother passed away a few years ago. Their father worked a lot and was not around a lot as a result until he suddenly passed away in a plane crash when they were 10 years old. While the story focuses on Zuri as the main character, Zeva does play an important role that comes at a surprise to even her sister Zuri. At the start, Zeva is a social worker for St. Marigold’s Orphanage, while Zuri is a wedding coordinator. While working on her latest wedding for a bride named Jenn and a groom named Alec, Zuri gets a huge surprise as her boyfriend Xander turns out to be the same Alec from the wedding. While Jenn understood that Zuri was not at fault, outsiders planned Zuri and her career is in jeopardy. When a new opportunity to be interviewed in Ever After for Fairy Godmother’s Inc. as a wedding administrator comes about, Zuri is excited for the opportunity.

Phillip and Zuri were really cute together although their relationship was a little insta-love. For me, I would have preferred a slightly slower burn to build up their relationship. It is a little more understanding based on the setting where fairy tales are real, but I still wished for a little more build up. There are many obstacles that this couple has to overcome. Philip has his curse and Zuri is still unsure about fully trusting others again after Alec burned her. The supporting characters in this story continued to be a delight although I did want a little more from Gwen and Roderick as I loved their interactions from the first story and thought they would become a main before this story was announced. I still have hope for a story to be written with them at the center. The other standout character in this story was Ravena, the Evil Queen, as I loved her and wanted even more from her.

Overall, this series continue to be a fun filled fairy tale adventure. The nice part about this series is that the reader can read each as a standalone, if they wanted, although it would be best to read them all in order. The pacing is fairly fast in the story as the tension builds based on Philip’s curse. The writing itself reads like a fairy tale where there is a mix of simplicity and chaos, especially when the characters speak to each other. I loved that the story included both Zuri and Phillip’s perspectives, as it was nice to explore each of their inner thoughts throughout the story. Ever After still remains a destination that I wish was real as I would easily book a trip there ASAP, for a wedding or just for fun. I cannot wait to see the next couple in the series and to read about more Happily Ever Afters!

Men are frogs is was as magically entertaining as Fairy Godmothers, inc. I’ve found both these books completely charming. And honestly can’t wait for more. I love the fairy tale retelling with the adult spin to them. Prince Charming and Zuri’s story might be my favorite so far. A jilted wedding planner meets her Prince Charming who so happens to be a frog. Tons of LOL moments.

This one was a DNF at 10% for me. Just could not get into the premise.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read a digital ARC in return for an honest review.

Men are Frogs was such an easy read. It was fun to read how a fairy tale character falls in love with a modern woman and how the other fairy tale characters hide the magic in their town from normal people. The plot and characters were simple and predictable, but that did not make my reading any less enjoyable. I would recommend this book to people who like tv shows Once Upon A Time and are looking for a lighthearted read.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books, I had the opportunity to read the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The godmothers are back at their meddling & mischief matchmaking endeavors (if a little more subtle). enjoyed watching Zuri & Phillip get to know each other and fall in love (as well as Zuri learning Ever After's secrets) and try to figure out how to cure his curse. the book is nicely paced with humor, sweetness, romance and a touch of angst to balance it out. the supporting cast work well and we're given a few hints about possible future couples. All in all I found this to be an enjoyable read (even more so than book 1) and look forward to more.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read Men Are Frogs

I enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one just didn’t work well for me. The whole prince char,in and kiss the frog angle seemed over the top silly 🤷‍♀️ I’m sure there’s an audience for this, but this one is definitely not for me.

I love this series! You go in thinking they are going to be these sweet little romance stories, but they have so much more substance to them than that. Obviously we had met Phillip in the first book and knew about the curse and how bad Petty felt that she had made it as hard to break as she had. This book gives us more insight to him as a character and the chance to know more about him and how the curse has changed him for the better (while also being a terrible burden to him). Meanwhile, Zuri's introduction into the book certainly gets your attention! In the span of just a few pages I knew I was going to like her and enjoy watching her get to her happy ever after. That happy ever after didn't occur quite as I was expecting, but I loved the sacrifice Phillip was willing to make in order to stay loyal and faithful to Zuri. It showed how much he had grown in the 300 years of the curse and how much he truly loved Zuri. His handling of the entire situation - talking openly and honestly about everything that was going on - prevented this from slipping into a "you kept the truth from me/lied to me" type of story (which I'm really not a fan of).

As for supporting characters, Zeva is another great addition to the series and I am looking forward to seeing more of her in later books (especially since we now know the godmothers are going to try to set her up with Hunter). Alec was a bit over the top, but I am curious to find out what is going on with him after his transformation at the end of the book. Another character I can't wait to find out more about is Ravenna - she is turning out to be quite an interesting person.

I think I loved this more than book 1! Prince Charming and Zuri are amazingly cute together and you can’t help but root for them, loved the updates on Lucky & Ransom as well as Gwen and Roderick, and I cannot wait to learn more about Ravenna, Hunter, Hansel, and Zeva. The plot line was pretty realistic considering it’s all happening in Ever After too. Gonna go find me a place to throw some axes now….

Rating: 4.5 Stars

There are a plethora of fairytale retellings out there, and I will be adding this book to the fun-and-fantastic pile. The initial vibes I got from this story was a mixture of Once Upon a Time, Fractured Fairytales, and Into the Woods. It was easy to identify the source material, but DeWylde put a fresh and modern spin on it.

I have not read the first book in this series, so this was my introduction to Ever After, Missouri. What a delightful place! I loved the idea of this enchanted town with magic stores filled by love. I adored all the descriptions of Ever After, and it was a pleasure meeting each and every quirky inhabitant. All these things were wonderful, but it was the romance that won my heart.

Prince Philip had suffered from a curse for 300 years. That’s right, for 300 years Philip lived his days as a frog and his nights as a man. The curse could only be undone by True Love’s Kiss, and Philip was hoping that kiss would come from Zuri. Though Zuri was trying to resist her attraction to Philip after her last disastrous relationship, she could not fight fate.

These two were precious together. The chemistry was great, but it was more about how they understood each other and really saw below the surface. Their interactions ranged from steamy to super sweet, and I easily shipped them. I wanted fate to have its way. I wanted Zuri to be the cure. I wanted them to spend eternity together.

Great couple, great spin on all those fairytales I know and love, and so, so funny. I really needed something cute and adorable that would lift my mood, and this book did the trick. Though I spent most of the book smiling or laughing, there was a part toward the end that moved me to tears. Don’t worry though, they were the good kind because what was happening was so beautiful.

Overall: I had such a wonderful time on my first trip to Ever After, and I cannot wait to return for more magic and mayhem!

I love an old tale with a new twist and looked forward to reading this one. This book didn't have much appeal to me. I did find lots of humor in the story to keep me reading, but skimmed parts that seemed gratuitous. I don't feel I'm the right audience for this particular story. But I am very sure many readers will love it!

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.

Men Are Frogs is the second in the Fairy Godmothers, Inc. series. It can be read as a stand-alone, although the first one is also pretty enjoyable, if only for the connected thread of the mischievous, meddling fairy godmothers.

The fairies in this one are up to more of their usual shenanigans. And while the first one felt more like it was just playing into the fairy tale vibe in general, I liked seeing more specific references, like their experiences with the Frog Prince and the Beast, and why those characters ended up that way in this universe.

And as such, the main couple of this one were more interesting too. Philip’s character is the aforementioned homage to the Frog Prince, and I liked how there was forgiveness between him and the fairies as they tried to help break his curse, and it turns out not to not be as simple as giving him a kiss.

I also really liked Zuri, and felt for her due to the mishaps she’d been dealing with as a wedding planner. I loved seeing her come to believe in love again thanks to Philip and the fairy godmothers.

This is a cute and fun modern spin on fairy tales, and if you’re looking for one that doesn’t take itself too seriously, you’ll definitely enjoy this.
