Great cozy read that anyone who loves a bit of mystery and fun would definitely devour in hours. Would recommend.

This is another cozy series that is just getting it’s start. I liked that Mikki is older and a freelance editor. I liked the location of the book. The mystery part was good as well. My Nancy Drew was satisfied by all the nooks and crannies she had to look In order to find the diaries. The narrative kept my interest and it was a quick read for me. I look forward to reading the next installment.

Another strong cozy mystery in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Fans of "Murder She Wrote" and cozy mysteries will likely enjoy Dunnett's latest release. I'm a writer and editor, so I really enjoyed Mikki (though I've yet to get swept up into any investigations!) This book is fourth in a series, but it can be read as a standalone novel. There wasn't as much suspense as is sometimes found in this genre, but it was a fun, quick read overall.

This was an interesting read which I couldn't put aside. I loved the characters, the setting, and the story. Will be on the lookout for more.

I was unaware that this was part of a series so I was pretty confused throughout this book. This book made me want to read the prior books....it would have made my life easier. No one else’s fault but my own!

Apparent Cold Case Cause For Consternation....
The fourth in the Deadly Edits Mystery series and Mikki, freelance editor and sometime amateur sleuth, finds herself researching an apparent cold case which gives her cause for consternation. Entertaining and enjoyable, this is a fun cosy mystery with a likeable protagonist, a colourful cast of supporting characters and a delightful backdrop. Engaging escapism and a worthy addition to the series.

This was a lot of fun. It could be because I freelance edit, too, but I found the setting very fun and relatable.

Mikki inherited a farm from a woman she hasn’t had contact with in two decades. But it comes with a catch, before she can take possession she needs to publish memoirs from the 1950 within the month on the internet.

While searching for the mysterious memoirs she stumbles upon a murder that took place in the house years ago and finds that the barn that should be abandoned has suspicious activity going on.

To track down what’s gone on in the past and what’s going on now Mikki will have to put all her investigation skills to work.

I love this series and can’t wait for the next book in this series.

What a great cozy mystery. I loved the retired teacher and her faithful, but cranky cat. When she is given the chance to inherit the estate of an old friend of her mother, she must first find hidden diaries and edit and publish them. This task proves to be quite difficult and dangerous for our heroine. Many secrets from the past will be discovered before the end of this delightful book.

It was a very enjoyable read. I never read her books I will lokk for other books written by her. It was long but had a great ending that I didnt suspect would be.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was engaging, and the characters were relatable. I look forward to reading more Michelle Lincoln mysteries. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers.

I enjoyed this cozy mystery and the grammar lessons!

Mikki Lincoln (71) has taken on a post-retirement job as a freelance editor. When Bella Trent, a super fan of an author Mikki personally knows, attacks Mikki over two typos in the latest novel, Mikki finds herself being stalked. Adding to paying editing jobs, Mikki also produces the local library's monthly newsletter. When Mikki inherits property from her mom's old friend, it comes with strings attached and a mystery for Mikki to solve. Yes there are a few plots to follow and they are well executed.

Not the best in this series but it was entertaining and I loved the grammar lessons at the back of the book. Waiting for the next in this senior cozy.

Yet another cozy mystery that will keep you engaged, you won’t want to put it down. It’s not the strongest in the series but it’s still an enjoyable one.

This is the first title I've read in this series, and I'd give it 3-1/2 stars out of 5. I enjoyed the character of Mikki and the set-up of the mystery. But for a good portion of the book, not a whole lot happens. In chapter 41, Mikki (the narrator) states, "I'd done nothing but wait for something to happen for days." Too true, and that doesn't make for a can't-put-down story. The characters and what plot does happen are engaging, but the pacing feels very slow to me, with too much just passing time.

Mikki Lincoln is a 70 something retired teacher, freelance editor and amateur sleuth. She has just received a letter notifying her of an inheritance from an old friend of her mothers. She is to inherit a run-down farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, but there is a catch. She must find and publish across various social media networks, some forgotten diaries and she only has one month to complete the task, or the property will be inherited by someone else.

Although she is not really interested in the inheritance, she feels obligated to the task and takes up the challenge. On visiting the property, she soon discovers that it is a 1950’s time capsule, just left abandoned and there are no diaries to be seen on surface level. As the story unfolds she learns of an unsolved cold case murder and mysterious activity in a barn, this property does not seem to be as abandoned as what first seemed and with the help of her trusted cat, Calpurnia, she takes matters into her own hands as she is adamant to fulfil the wishes of her mothers' friend.

This is definitely what is called a cosy mystery and one which channels Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote, funnily enough after having this thought, Jessica Fletcher was referenced. For me, I found the story is too light and lacking suspense. Whenever there was any suspense, it was quickly resolved and the story moved onto something else. I like to be kept on my toes, sitting at the edge of the seat when reading a mystery, so speaking in all honesty, this was not for me. There was also a side story about a manic stalker which I just found pointless and trivial.

This is book 4 of a series, and I will say it works as a standalone as I’m guessing there is a different mystery to be solved in each book, so if cosy mystery is what you are looking for, then you may enjoy this one. It was easy to read, so would be a good holiday book.

I'm always slightly surprised that an elderly and not always with a sunshine personality main character in Mikki Lincoln can grab and keep my attention. Kaitlyn Dunnett's A Deadly Edits Mystery series takes place in New York state and is different than any other cozy mystery that I read. In 'Murder, She Edited' Mikki inherits a home from her mother's best friend who was over a hundred years old when she died with the expectation that Mikki would edit and publish the diaries left in the home. It takes a ponderous amount of time to find the diaries and longer for Mikki to develop a theory as to what happened. Not my favorite in the series, but as I said, I feel a connection with Mikki.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions express in this review are entirely my won.
