I absolutely adore this series by Krista Davis, and this next installment was no exception. The characters are wonderful, and I loved the mystery!

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit by Krista Davis is the 12th book in A Domestic Diva Mystery series, and another great addition. Sophie Winston and the gang are back and they are dealing DIY home show, and neighbors being murdered after a trip to Portugal. Unfortunately Sophie's best friend Nina, was also on the trip. I love this series, I love all of Ms. Davis series! I recommend you read these books in order if you can. My only problem is Sophie has the worst luck with men. I miss the chemistry Sophie had with Wolf...sigh. I strongly recommend this book/series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Author Krista Davis serves up an incredible mystery in, THE DIVA SERVES FORBIDDEN FRUIT. Like the wonderful installments before, this book is one I couldn't put down. Packed cover to cover with mayhem, menace, and mystery (of course!), I was totally surprised during the reveal. I was way off! That's why I'm always ready to enjoy anything the diva has to serve. The most forbidden thing about the Domestic Diva Mysteries is not reading them!

This is a Cozy Mystery, and this is the 14th book in A Domestic Diva Mystery series. I have not read the other books in this series, but I did not feel lost while reading this book. I have to say that I really loved the characters in this book. The mystery was good, and it kept me guessing. I did not guess the twist. I have to say this was a fun cute cozy mystery, but I do think that there was a few times in the book I felt there was just to much going on. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Kensington Publishing Corporation) or author (Krista Davis) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I love this series. This is one of those series that once you start you cant stop. It will take you away to a place where you can forget all your worries and just relax for a short time. It moves along at a pace that keeps you interested and reading till the end. The characters will grab you and you cannot help but fall in love with them and you want to know them better. The story keeps you reading till the end and then you cant wait to see what will happen next. This is a must read book that has to be read. You will not be sorry that you did.

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit by Krista Davis is book fourteen in the 'Domestic Diva Mystery Series' and was a great read! With plenty of delectable dishes, such as Bourbon Chocolate Chip Blondies and also a generous portion of friends, an Ocicat named Mochie, and murder this was a thoroughly enjoyable page-turner. (I really fancy trying Nina's Rum Runners, too!) The plot was solid and entertaining and the characters were a very likeable bunch of friends. I appreciated how they cared and supported one another.

The writing style of Krista Davis was very appealing and I was perfectly comfortable reading this cozy as a standalone novel. The surprising twists and turns kept me invested in the story until its thrilling conclusion.

Overall, a delightful read that I highly recommend so dive in as soon as you can!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my own request, from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Good friends, food and a murder. Sophie's friend Nina just returned from a not so great trip to Portugal but little did she know that things were going to get even worse. When one traveler is murdered and Nina's house is broken into Sophie and her friends spring into action. There seems to be a reason the travelers are being targeted but can they figure out why before more people are affected.

This is one of my favorite series. The author does an excellent job with descriptions, the characters are interesting and the mystery engaging. Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

This series has been a favorite since I first started reading cozy mysteries, and I continue to enjoy it. While it's skewed a little older in terms of characters and style than some of the "millennial cozies" I've been enjoying recently, this is still a really reliable series with consistently good mysteries. I really didn't know how the pieces would come together in this one and found the story enjoyable.

A charming and delightful cozy. Love many of the chapter endings and most all of the hints at the beginning of the chapters. The connected ones were especially entertaining. A clever murder mystery that should keep you guessing for as long as it did me...all the way to the end. Good characters and adorable pets.

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit is book # 14 in the Domestic Diva Mystery series by Krista Davis.

Sophie is in charge of the local DIY Home Decorating festival but makes time to pick Nina, her best friend up, at the airport. She’s returning with a group from a trip to Portugal. The next day Sophie finds one of the trip members dead.

This is one of my favorite series. I wish I had a neighbor like Sophie who has a refrigerator with an endless supply of food and different dishes for every occasion. Nina, Mars, Bernie, Humphrey, and Francine are all great supporting characters and they really stepped up for Nina and Sophie in this book. I enjoyed Natasha’s turmoil and the animals are wonderful.

It was a complex mystery and every time I thought I knew who did it, there was a twist taking the story in another direction.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I have read many books by Krista Davis but I think the Diva series is my favorite. I did think the title for this one was a bit odd since it did not really seem to fit the book but that certainly did not detract from my enjoyment.

Sophie Winston is an advice columnist and event planner. She is currently overseeing the DIY festival in their town and handles minor crises on a daily basis. When a local woman turns up dead in what is clearly a staged "accident" Sophie is looking into whodunit, especially when there is an attempt on another friend's life. The only thing these victims have in common is a recent trip to Portugal together. Can Sophie find the killer before the entire group is killed?

I particularly loved the advice column snippets at the beginning of each chapter, especially the dueling responses between Sophie and another columnist in her town, the ever annoying, overdramatic Natasha. Several of them made me smile. I also loved the sleuthing around the dinner table with Sophie and her friends. The best part was meeting Muppet, a foster dog who saves one of the character's lives.

These books are fun to disappear into for an afternoon or even just a spare half hour. You feel like you are strolling the DIY festival with Sophie or sitting at the dinner table during their discussions like you are part of the story. I look forward to more books in this series.

Such a golden, delicious, luscious pleasure! And the “hacks” that open each chapter are worthy of their own book(hint, hint). Also appreciate the recipes included. You will have to wait until almost the end of the book to learn what the “forbidden fruit” in the title refers to. But it is worth the wait. Thanks to #NetGalley and #TheDivaServesForbiddenFruit for advanced digital copy..

A very good mystery. There are three murders and they seem similar. Were they murdered by the same person? All three went on a trip to Portugal. What happened there to cause this or is it unrelated? So many questions for Sophie and friends to figure out. Her friend Nina was on that trip and someone tried to break into her house. What is happening? Can they figure it out before someone else is murdered?

Having read the previous books in this series, it was enjoyable to return to Old Town to visit with Sophie and company. In this book, Sophie is organizing the DIY Fair and finds a woman dead. As the story progresses, the death toll continues to rise. Will the murderer be found in time?

This book was just so-so for me. There were so many deaths, it seemed like there weren't going to be any characters left alive for a killer to be identified.

This is a series that has never disappointed me and book #14 is another excellent entry. Sophie has gone to the airport to pick up her friend, Nina when she returns from a trip to Portugal. Poor Nina thought it was going to be time with her husband who is there for a conference but she soon finds herself stuck in a tour bus with some of her neighbors. Not her idea of a good vacation but, wow, she and Sophie are blindsided when the next morning one of those women is found dead in her back yard, made to look like a fall from a ladder. Will Nina's name be added to the killer's list? How long is the list.
Sophie is a wonderful character who is closely tied to her family, friends, neighbors and community, always ready to lend a helping hand. As she does so she does a lot of cooking for them. (I always get hungry when she starts cooking, I want to join her table) The mysteries are complex with various threads that seem unconnected until the moment all are brought together, tied up perfectly, at the end. This is one of those series that is a must for every cozy readers TBR list.
My thanks to the publisher Kensington and to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is the 14th Domestic Diva mystery by popular cozy author Krista Davis. This is a fun charming series that is endearing to readers. I have read most of the series and always enjoy returning to this series. Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to review . My review opinions are my own. This book can be read as a stand alone however I recommend the entire series for your reading enjoyment.

Sophia is busy with a home decor festival in town and in charge of making it run smoothly. She is also picking up her friend Nina from the airport who does not indicate her trip to Portugal went well at all. After one of her traveling companions turns up murdered in Nina's home and then the body count is going up Sophia has her hands full solving multiple murders and saving her friend.

This was such a well crafted mystery that I was kept guessing to the end. The clues and red herrings abound as our feisty protagnist puts the clues together. The charcters are delightful and all add to the series. I love the receipes included . A very enjoyable addition to this fun series.

This is one of my favorite mystery series because I love the main character, event planner Sophie Winston. The friendships portrayed between her and her best friends make these books a pleasure to read. I would love to have a friend like Sophie. In between planning and running events and making treats for friends, she is able to solve crimes that her ex-boyfriend, Wolf, isn't able to, at least now without Sophie’s help. I also really like the Old Town Alexandria, Virginia setting and the descriptions of the wonderful homes and events in the area.

The murder mystery in this book is a little confusing but it did keep me guessing. Even though the book is part of a series, it reads as a standalone. I've enjoyed others in this series more, but still really liked the book. The books in the Domestic Diva series are always entertaining, although I’m continually baffled how people tolerate the rudeness of Natasha, Sophie’s frenemy. I’m sure many consider her funny, but I find her very annoying. When Natasha isn’t in the mix, I love the camaraderie between Sophie and her friends Nina, Bernie, and her ex-husband Mar. As much as I enjoy the friendship between Sophie and her ex, I admit to holding out hope for Sophie and Mars to get back together as a couple.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing an advance copy of this ebook. The book was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

In The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit, Sophie is coordinating the DIY festival in Old Town and some of her friends had just returned from an overseas trip. Unfortunately, some strange and scary things have been happening to some of the travelers and Sophie uses some of her free time to get to the bottom of it all. This well-written mystery is a great mix of whodunit, neighborhood goings-on, and everyday life with a group of wonderful, likable characters. Each chapter begins with letters to advice columns written by Sophie and her friend/rival Natasha, often giving conflicting advice on the same topics. The tasty recipes at the end of the book are not to be missed!

Every book in the Domestic Diva Mysteries is an enjoyable visit with Sophie and her friends in Old Town Alexandria. After 14 books, it really is like spending time with old friends in their close-knit community. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but why not start with The Diva Runs Out of Thyme and enjoy it all from the very beginning? I highly recommend every book by Krista Davis, especially this series, which is one of my top cozy series!

I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit by Krista Davis (A Domestic Diva Mystery #14) 4 stars

Sophie Winston is a domestic wonder that can provide cooking and decorating advice at the same time. She is the organizer of the Old Town DIY Home Decorating Festival and there isn't enough hours in a day to take care of everything. She is picking up her friend Nina from the airport; Nina is returning from a trip to Portugal where she accompanied her husband who was attending a medical convention. Sophie's other neighbors, Lark Bickford and Dulci Chaman also went on the same trip. However, things are upended when, Lark Bickford is found dead in her yard. Although staged to look like an accident, it is ruled a homicide when things don't add up. When another traveler on the Portugal trip ends up dead in the exact same fashion as Lark, the future doesn't look bright for their fellow travelers. Sophie has to find the culprit fast or her friend Nina could be the next victim.

This is my first "Domestic Diva Mystery". I am more familiar with Ms. Davis through her "Paws and Claws Mysteries", which I love. I really like this mystery, but I know I am not getting the full impact because I didn't read the previous books. The interaction between characters add a lot to the book, but because I don't know most of these characters I was a little lost. I really enjoyed that the beginning of each chapter provided a helpful tip from Sophie or Natasha (an ex nemesis??). Sophie is a through sleuth that puts together myriad facts for a clear picture. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC.
