Sophie's really busy with the Old Town Alexandria DIY festival but she still picks up her friend Nina from the airport. She's shocked when Nina gets off the plane from Portugal in a disheveled state but even more so when she finds the body of Lark, who was with Nina on the trip, the next day. There's mysterious writing in the dirt and lots of questions with Sophie. along her friends (and a frenemy) find the answers. There's food. there's DIY hints, and there's some good twists. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I've only read one of the preceding books in this long running series so this was pretty much a standalone for me- and it was an enjoyable cozy read.

I absolutely love this Domestic Diva series and the great characters within each book. My favorite is Sophie Winston: event planner, amateur PI, wonderful hostess and culinary artist, and terrific friend. She is all that and more, and it's no wonder friends flock to her home and casual acquaintances confide in her! In this book she lives up to those qualities when friends come back from a three week trip to Portugal and start dying the very next morning.

An exciting book with a week long DIY festival (run by Sophie) intersects with murder, injuries, and mayhem. Close friends and returning characters combine with bereaved families, the DIY crowd, and frenemy Natasha's family. So many mysteries wrapped together in one book with layers of circumstances to sort through! Many good meals and great recipes are the icing on the cake. Each book is like a visit with a good friend, but with mysteries to be solved.

I love the series and recommend it to anyone who wants a good mystery story infused with gracious living, good food, loyal friends, and sweet pets. A special thank you to NetGalley and Kensington books for allowing me to read the book for an honest review.

I really enjoy this cozy series. Sophie is a DIY diva. She cooks and decorates with the best of them. What I enjoy about this series is the characters. The friends are have each other's backs. Sophie and Mars were married, and then Mars marries Natasha who is Sophie's frenemy and work rival. I enjoy the interaction between the friends and how protective they are of each other. The author's writing style is easy-to-read and the mysteries always keep my attention.

In this mystery, Sophie's best friend Nine returns from a trip to Portugal along with other members of the community. Soon, members of this trip starting dying. Sophie and her friends want to protect Nina and help find the killer. The mystery moves along nicely and the murderer is a surprise.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and offer my unbiased review.

Thanks SO much to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this one. One of my very favorite series and this one is an excellent addition to the series. When Sophie's friend Nina returns from a group trip to Portugal members of the group start expiring right & left. What's the motive for the murders and who might be next? Sophie's on the job.....again! This one is 5-stars!

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit is the fourteenth installment in the Domestic Diva Series and it’s only getting better! I have faithfully followed this series from book one and every year I always look forward to immersing myself in Old Town, Virginia and catching up with Sophie and the crew.

This installment has Sophie managing a DIY Festival in Old Town. (Added bonus – lots of tips and tricks for DIY projects!) When one of the vendor’s mother is found dead and then another vendor is found dead, the ties that bind them together are a trip overseas, in which Sophie’s best friend Nina was also on, or the event itself. Sophie is determined to put a stop to the madman who is on a murderous rampage.

I thought this book was fantastic! The plotline kept me guessing, the characters are all delightful, and the pacing was exceptional! Just when I thought I had the murderer figured out, another twist was thrown, and I was back at square one.

This is one of my favorite cozy series, and one I always keep tabs on and look forward to year after year. The books in this series can be read as standalones but do yourself a favor and immerse yourself in Old Town and start at the beginning.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for the advance copy in exchange for my review!

This is the 14th book in the Domestic Diva Mystery series. I’ve read them all, and the characters never get stale. In this book, Sophie and her friends are involved in another murder when one of her neighbors is murdered. Sophie’s dear friend Nina could be the next victim if she doesn’t stop him/her first!

As always, the plot is interesting and the murderer is hard to guess. Krista Davis delivers again!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Sophie is trying desperately to pull of the DIY Home Decorating Festival on her street. Her neighbors have gotten their tents ready and have started selling their wares and demonstrating how to create decorating items. In between she has to pick up her best friend Nina from the airport, but is stunned when Nina arrives without shoes and looking haggard. After getting a tale of woe from Nina, it's back to business for Sophie.

But when she visits another friend the next morning she finds the woman dead with a strange symbol carved into the soil beside her. After informing the police, Sophie finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation, this one closer to home and it involves more than one friend. But when Nina is targeted, Sophie knows she has to act quick or she'll lose her, too...

This is the fourteenth book in the series, and unfortunately I haven't read them in order, so some of the revelations in the book are a complete surprise to me. However, I do plan on going back and reading the rest of the series, because what's discovered doesn't spoil this book at all.

We again have Natasha whining every five minutes to Sophie for something, and while Sophie tunes her out, I certainly wish I could, too. I have never cared for the woman, but at least she's not uber-annoying in this book, which is a good thing. Actually, there are some funny moments with Natasha that she has no control over, and I did enjoy those.

There's also trouble in the festival, with the entrants complaining amongst themselves, and I am not going to detail that as this is a new book and I want people to enjoy reading it. And you should enjoy it, too. There's an awful lot going on, and a lot of people doing it, and poor Sophie is right in the middle of it again.

But there are some good things that occur, and that makes all of it worthwhile. I do still think that Sophie needs to get herself together, but that's a personal opinion and has no reflection on this book, which is very good indeed. I enjoyed it immensely, and the mystery was indeed something that wasn't discovered until very close to the end (although I did figure out the murderer before Sophie, so that's something in my favor!). When it all comes together, we get a few more surprises which are nice, and it gives us something to look forward to in the next book. Recommended.

I love the amazing cover (first thing first). The story is enjoyable and engrossing.
Krista Davis is a good storyteller and the plot kept me hooked and guessing.
Excellent character development.
This is a very good series but somehow it's not becoming a favorite (it's me, not the series)
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

What could be better than a trip to Old Town to visit with Sophie and her crew. Sophie Winston is in charge of the DIY festival in town. A murder occurs. Then Nina's house is broken into and another murder happens. Are they all connected? It would appear that way since all three victims had just come back from a trip to Portugal. Sophie and her friends rally to keep Nina safe. I loved all the twists in this book. Every time I thought I had the mystery figured out, another twist was thrown in. I was shocked at who the culprit was. Krista Davis writes truly believable characters that continue to grow with every book. I love the cast of Sophie, Mars, Nina, Bernie, and yes even Natasha. This is a series that I will keep coming back for more. I received this book from Kensington books and netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing allowing me to read and review The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit. I always look forward to and enjoy catching up with Sophie and the gang. This series never disappoints, the characters stay true, and the mystery is always captivating. I also enjoy that the recipes are at the end of the book instead of between the chapters. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Another great one in The Domestic Diva mystery series. Sophie Winston and her friends will try to solve the murder of Lark Bickford but before they can another victim is discovered. And the list of suspects keeps on growing. Will Sophie figure out who did the killings and when she does will it mean she's the next victim? Great action and great cast of characters. This is a great series but can be read as a stand alone.

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit is the latest in the Domestic Diva series and is as wonderful a read, if not the best, as the earlier novels. Reader returns to Old Town, Virginia where Sophie and her friends find themselves involved in another murder when a neighbor is murdered after returning from vacation. It looks like Sophie's best friend Nina is also in danger and soon they are all looking for a murderer and why they murdered.
I was kept guessing as to who the murderer was and was genuinely surprised at a few twists that happened. I strongly encourage cozy fans to read this one!

The Domestic Diva series is one of my very favorite cozy mystery series, and this installment hits the mark yet again. Sophie is managing a DIY Festival in her neighborhood, and all the crazy that goes along with it. We get to visit with the usual cast of characters who feel like real people we actually know by this point in the series. This book has international travel, friends gathering at Sophie’s house for meals, jewelry, and symbols, all of it fun, and with a twist I didn’t see coming. Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington for allowing me to give my honest review.

This was a great story, full of twists and turns and an ending I did not see coming. The community that is built throughout the series really shines and makes you want to be part of their circle. Can’t wait for the next!

When I thought I had it, there is a twist, then another twist, and at one point, I wondered if a child was to blame. Back to another culprit and a person out of left field only to realize that I was possibly right all along. I love a good ‘where are we going’ cozy. One which takes place on familiar grounds with familiar characters and enough silliness to keep the reader engaged.

There is just something about Old Town, Virginia, Sophie’s friends, her community, and a police force that reluctantly works with the local events planner to keep their neighborhood safe.

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit is the book in the fourteenth book in the "Domestic Diva Mystery" series written by Krista Davis. Sophie is preparing for the DIY Home Decorating Festival, as well as looking forward to her friend Nina's return from a long trip. When a neighbor suddenly dies, Sophie finds herself involved in another murder investigation, and her friend Nina could be the next victim.

I always enjoy this series. The chipotle are phenomenal and the plot twists are fantastic.

Who doesn't enjoy Krista Davis' Diva series! This book (#14) is another winner with Sophie and her band of colorful characters, including two furry friends. I received this cozy mystery through NetGalley and published by Kensington Books. In this book, Sophie must unravel another murder(s) and continue to run the decorating festival. Includes recipes and decor tips.

The Diva series is so enjoyable! This is the 14th in the series but I've read the first five and know most of the main characters. It might be a little confusing to read without that knowledge but still a completely enchanting cozy mystery. Having lived in Old Town Alexandria, I chuckle at the small-town feel Davis has created but revel in the setting. The mystery is involved and kept me guessing. I highly recommend reading the first in this series, as it was the coziest thing I've ever read, and then might as well read them all. I will be!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

I've read every single one of Krista Davis' Domestic Diva Mysteries (and I've loved them all!), but the very first - The Diva Runs Out of Thyme - has long been my favorite in the series. Imagine my surprise when The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit, the 14th installment, replaced Thyme as my all-time fave! A great cozy mystery with all of our favorite series characters included, and lots of going to and fro on the streets of Old Town, Alexandria looking for clues to solve not one but two murders - and the gang is very worried that Nina could be next! Loved, loved, loved it!!!

5 stars to Krista Davis and The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit!
