The Midnight Library was a magical place full of possibility in between life and death. And this book kit aims to enhance that magic through quality reflective questions and an interview with the author.

Eight thought provoking questions are included in this kit. I found the self reflective nature of the questions enriched the story and allowed me to synthesize the story in a way that made it very personal. The questions also do a great job of highlighting the primary themes of the novel. These questions lend well to a hearty discussion. And while the primary purpose of these questions is for a book club, they also would be excellent as journal prompts for self contemplation.

The author interview portion gives insight into Matt Haig’s inspiration and hopes for The Midnight Library. His perspective on this book gave me a greater appreciation for the novel itself. He is also very open about his own mental health and how it allowed him to create this fantastical library.

This guide is a great companion to The Midnight Library and will serve book clubs well! It’s exactly what I’d want as a resource to lead a book club. And I enjoyed using it to enhance my enjoyment of the book.

I love book club kits and this one did not disappoint! We can bring our own interpretations to the discussion, but questions posed by the author as so important to diving further into the book and maybe adopting a new view. The Midnight Library was amazing and these questions helped me delve even further into the book!

This was one of my favorite reads of 2020 and it's a great title for book clubs- there's so much to discuss.
The packet is beautiful with artwork that compliments the book's cover art.
It includes great discussion questions with a lot of thought put into them and a great interview with the author.
Thanks to Penguin Random House Library Resources and NetGalley for the advance copy.

This is a great companion to Haig's The Midnight Library. It is not only aesthetically pleasing and on brand for the book, but the discussion questions and conversation with the author offer many opportunities to engage with the text, its themes, and Haig himself. This book would make a wonderful book club pick on its own, and it's great that there is now this book club kit to act as a companion to the book. Very well done.

Really love this Book Club Kit as a supplement to The Midnight Library. I really enjoyed the book and it was nice to have a chance to reflect on it through the questions in this kit. The interview with Matt Haig was super insightful as well. Would definitely recommend for Book Clubs or anyone who wants to reflect the book alone!

I love the idea of these book club kits! I always love when I see book club discussion topics in my books. I haven’t read The Midnight Library but I thought the questions posed in this kit were really insightful. In particular, the question about achieving success in more than one area vs one success at the cost of others got me thinking: what would be the one success I would trade everything else for? Is there anything worth it?

I don’t plan to read The Midnight Library but I’m grateful for the opportunity to get some perspective on the book. Thank you for the free kit NetGalley and Penguin Random House!

If I see Matt Haig's name attached to anything, I'm going to read it. He's one of my all-time favorite authors, and The Midnight Library was my favorite fiction read of 2020. I sum it up as "the perfect prescription for the malady of regret."

This Book Club Kit is as beautifully designed as the book itself. Its five pages of content include:
- A blurb about the book, by Matt Haig
- Eight discussion questions
- Three pages of "In conversation with Matt Haig," which is a Q&A with the author

The discussion questions primarily prompt self reflection. Example:
- In the library, Nora learns that the life she gave her cat was one of the best he could have experienced. Are there any parts of your life that you feel could not be improved by living it differently?

The author Q&A covers topics like Haig's inspiration for the idea of The Midnight Library and how he dealt with writing a novel told from a woman's point of view.

All this adds up to the perfect book club discussion guide. It's exactly the type of material I'd look for in preparation for leading a conversation around the novel. Well done!

This book club kit was really interesting to read through. As The Midnight Library was my favorite book of 2020, I loved reflecting back on it with the questions the book provides. I also loved reading the interview with Haig and why he wrote this book and where he got his inspiration from.
This is a really good book club kit!

I read and immensely enjoyed The Midnight Library a couple of months ago so I was curious to see what the Book Club Kit would contain. I really liked the questions and conversation with the author. The questions make you reflect on your own life, which could spur some pretty interesting discussions. I liked learning the author's background and what inspired Matt Haig to write The Midnight Library. The format was a little tricky. The text is in a very light color so I had to change the background color on the Kindle app and there were photos that didn't match up correctly. Overall, the content in this is a fantastic starting point for a book club.

I saw the title and was expecting this to be the actual book not discussion questions however it does say book club kit.. so that’s my bad.

Unfortunately the kindle download was difficult to read as the print was very pale and contained mainly parts of a photograph. So unable to give a review.

I really thought this was the whole book to be read but learned that it was The Book Club Kit which is meant to be used as a discussion for a book club. I did read it and least I have an understanding of this book that everyone is talking about and that I still want to read. It was a good insight into the book.
