I reviewed the Book Club Kit for Caste. This book club kit only included one element - discussion questions. The discussion questions are thought-provoking and illustrate the key points of the book.
I would have liked to see some other element in this book club kit like an interview with the other or activities for the book club kit.

Book Club Kit: Caste by Isabel Wilkerson
Publisher: Penguin Random House Library Resources
Genre: History | Politics
Release Date: February 11, 2021
I have not yet read Caste by Isabel Wilkerson.
This book club kit is the perfect companion to the book. It asks thought provoking questions that let you take a deeper dive into the book.
I think this will definitely enhance the reader's experience with reading Caste!
I'm so grateful to Isabel Wilkerson, Penguin Random House Library Resources, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

I made a big mistake by reading the book club kit instead of the book itself. I had just signed up to Net Galley and was too excited with the various books available that I forgot that I should have been more careful before clicking away on a particular title.
I would like to take this positively as I am able to at least see the questions that might appear to me when reading the actual book. There were altogether twenty-five questions and all of them prods the reader to think further on what they have read.
Sometimes I tend to skimp through some parts of a book and questions in the kit would be a reminder of those sections that I might have missed. I may feel they are not important but there must a reason why an author puts them in the book. A continuous thread of the author’s thoughts helps the reader to understand better what the book is trying to convey.
As someone who tends to skip now and then, I have not far to the author. The kit helps me to retrace my steps.

Nice set of questions! We used them for my local book club! I liked how they covered the breadth of the the novel and sparked conversation!

@Thanks NetGalley for this guide to this great book. It was a wonderful experience.
I give 5 stars to this guide

No frills or fruity drink recipes, just detailed, incisive, interesting discussion questions. This will spark some good book groups!

This book really gets to the core of our political and cultural reckoning and us written weak, I've heard a lot about this book and it lived up to the hype. Definitely a book of our times

This Penguin Random House Book Club Kit is such a great idea. However, this one contains only discussion questions. Those are very well selected and poignant; however, it's not enough for me to make a book club kit.

Amazing inspiring and thought provoking questions that are PERFECT for any book club meeting. Highly highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Such a great guide whether for personal or group reading to help process what you learned from Caste! I loved Caste and this helped me dive even further deeper into the text.

The book club kit for Caste by Isabel Wilderson includes 25 excellent discussion questions. A perfect guide to lead any book club into a deep discussion the book.

This was a fantastic guide to help facilitate a group discussion for a book chat group. I would be interested in using this for a future book club setting as well. Thank you for the thought provoking questions to dig into this material. I would be interested in more of these.

This kit only includes discussion questions, but there are many and some are very in depth. This might be a good starting point for book clubs, but would probably be a better guide for professors/teachers to use.

Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson was one of the two best nonfiction books I read in 2020. (The other being No My Name by Chanel Miller.) In fact, I gifted it to several people over the holidays.
This brief two-page Discussion Guide contains 25 questions. Many of them seem more suited to a university classroom setting than a book club, but that is apropos given the subject of the book. A book club wouldn't (and shouldn't!) select a title like this unless they're prepared to have tough conversations.
Sample questions:
#5 - Caste and race are not the same thing. What is the difference between the two? How do casteism and racism support each other?
#7 - Who does the caste system benefit? Who does it harm?
#22 - How does the caste system take people who would otherwise be allies and turn them against one another?
#25 - What are some of the steps that society, and each of us, can take toward dismantling the caste system?
Very thought provoking! All-in-all, these are very serious questions about a very serious book on a very serious topic.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the book club kit. Will have to read the book then follow up with the kit.
