Princess Amarande and Luca are both on their very own, she must reclaim her kingdom and Luca to start a rebellion. The Sand and Sky are in for a big blow and these two are a big part of it. The second book definitely did a bit better than the first, much more details on the characters and the world. Lots of suspense, cuteness and still a classic YA book. There isn't much more to say though, so make that what you will. It was a messy read although a happily ever after type of ending I think.

This series has such a fun concept; classic fairy tale tropes flipped on their heads, a fierce heroine who refuses to play by the rules, and a romance that actually grows alongside the plot. I liked the first book enough to come back for more, and I was curious to see where Amarande and Luca would go next. There’s still a lot to enjoy here: political intrigue, secret alliances, and big questions about duty, power, and love. Amarande stays true to herself, which I appreciated, and I liked that the stakes kept rising. That said, this installment felt a little uneven. The pacing was off in places—some sections flew by, while others dragged—and I found myself less emotionally invested this time around. I also wanted more from some of the side characters, who had so much potential but didn’t fully land for me. Still, if you enjoyed The Princess Will Save You, this is a solid continuation. Just go in expecting a slower build and a bit less spark.

After enjoying book 1 for the most part, I was very intrigued about book 2 and the expansion of the world and story.
This was heavily inspired by the Princess Bride, so seeing it become a series had my hopes high..... sadly that might have been its downfall.
I felt a lot of the characters fall flat, I didn't seen what had been describe about them in this book. No warrior king's daughter but a girl learning and making too many rash mistakes. The chemistry was a little empty here too.
There was more action and politics and more risks but I just sadly didn't care for more than half the book.

The Queen Will Betray You is an exciting continuation of Amarande's journey filled with action, romance, and complex relationships that challenge traditional narratives about power and gender roles in fantasy literature.

I think I might be in the minority here, but I just didn't enjoy this. I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't get into it.

An excellent follow up to The Princess Will Save You! This series is an homage to The Princess Bride, and it shines through.

This sequel did not disappoint! The twists and turns on this one made me want to reread The Princess Will Save You. Definitely not the last time I read Sarah Henning.

The Princess Brides meets YA fantasy. I love these characters and this world and it was impossible to put this down.

If you enjoyed the first book you will likely enjoy this one as well. It's a bit more political than the first one. The princess Bride parallels continue so if you liked that about book one, there's more here and it was fun to notice all the references.

(i received an e-arc from tor and netgalley in exchange for an honest review.)
this final instalment was a bittersweet conclusion, and it fittingly wrapped up the characters' journey. should the mood hit, i'm definitely going to reread this series.

I loved that i finally got around to this read and got to see these characters again!! I loved seeing the diffeerent dyamics betweens this characters and how the setting effected that. I also enjoye the new characters that we meet and the the new twists and turns this story presnred. I also loved the extenral pressures on this couple and not internal pressured. i am really excited to read book 3 soon!!

This was such a fun, action packed sequel that left me completely excited for the third book!! I couldn't stop reading, staying up until the late nights to binge it when I could. I could see a lot more resemblance to it being a Princess Bride retelling compared to the first book. Some new characters came into play, and It was so fun!!

This has quickly become one of my favorite YA Fantasy series!
I love the expanded story of Luca and us uncovering more of his story.
I loved the expanded political focus of the plot, though I could always go for more romance. 🙃🙃
This book really expanded the world building and I greatly enjoyed learning about the various kingdoms.
If you love YA Fantasy, don’t miss this series!

I'm in the minority here, but I just didn't get into this sequel. Amarande is meant to be the daughter of the Warrior King - sharp, clever and strategy trained. I just her decision making here rash and stupid. Otherwise I appreciate her fiery attitude and Luca is just a cinnamon roll.

I am absolutely obsessed with this world, characters, and story.
I had so much fun reading this one, I didn’t want to put it down.
I recommend this one to fans of YA fantasy, retellings, or anyone looking for a good story!

A solid follow up to Henning's The Princess Will Save You. A fun, YA retelling of The Princess Bride. The world is expanded on, and the pacing is quick! Can't wait for book three!

From the first paragraph, I knew this book would be a good one. I immersed myself into the book from the first chapter and I cannot say enough good things about this book! Honestly amazing! The writing is incredible and the plot is just one to die for. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. My favorite part would have to be the character development throughout the book. Character development is something I look forward to and this book did not disappoint.

I made the unfortunate mistake of requesting this book without having read the first one. I bought and read the first one but I honestly couldn't stand it. I tried to read this one but I just can't get through it either.

Not as engaging as book one but still a really good time. I am however dying to pick up the third and final book!

This was a little bit of an improvement from the first book. There is a little more action. Still, I found the main romance to still be underdeveloped and I unbelievable.
