Cute, enjoyable read. Really liked how close the POV was, making us feel what each of the protagonists is experiencing, and that was one of the best things about this book for me. Definitely going to look for more from this author now

I have to say this is just a nice romance.

I found the characters to be just a little too gullible and far fetched to be believable.

Otherwise a nice story.

Beckett Samuelson was tired of seeing his father having one marriage after another, after his mother's death, when he was so young. The first of the list of stepmothers caused Beckett to be sent to a school very far away, and from then on, the relationship between father and son became increasingly distant.

Now, he was visiting his father after months without seeing each other, even after learning that his father had suffered a stroke (his father didn't let him abandon a work for a Sheikh in Dubai to check upon him).
And Beckett was surprised to find his father in such good company.

Corazon Dela Cruz - Cora - was a nurse totally different from the ones that Beckett had already known. Not only did her methods of making Mr. Samuelson work better, but her appearance - a very beautiful and sexy Filipina - made Beckett's head spin.
But the way Beckett's dad loved being around beautiful things, was Cora a new candidate for Beckett's stepmother?
He would then have to stop it, and his plan became more and more difficult when he realized that he himself could not resist Cora's charm.

A fun and a delicious predictable unpredictability novel.

Beckett recently came back home to see his sick father, Chester in hope of making some amends between themselves before it's too late. But he was surprised to find his 'always serious' father so carefree with Cora, his nurse. Beck misunderstood Chester and Cora's relationship but soon realized his mistakes. Chester could feel the attraction between his son and his nurse. So he hatched a plan to make sure they ended up together which definitely worked. Beck realized he wanted Cora in his life forever but by that time Cora went back to her village. So he did the only thing he could do in that situation. He went after her.

This was a very cute Mutual pining romance. I think it was fun to see Chester scheming while Cora and Beckett were so self-sacrificing. I don't know how to feel about the Filipino rep because I wasn't sure if it was correct or not. Overall I enjoyed this and recommend to those looking for a low steam romance.

This book is perfect for romance fans, like seriously perfect.

It has everything I love in romance stories, judgmental man with innocent girl, slow burn and soulmates.

I loved it, the story is filled with romance that I cannot put it down until I finished it.

I highly recommend this story to anyone that loves the "Hallmark" romance, specially because is so easy to read, the story despise being a romance story is not filled with unnecessary drama so I loved it.

I recommend it without a doubt.

Well, the title certainly drew my eye and the cover is very catching. So, although I hadn't read anything of Alexia, I requested the arc.

We meet Corazon (or Cora for short) who was sent to Canada by her Philippine family to try to get a better life there. So, She studied hard and became a nurse. Every penny she can spare, she sends over to her family back home. Her latest client is a wealthy man, with some serious health issues. He is recovering, but needs full-time care. He is also a very sweet man, with a very stubborn streak.

When his-very hot-son comes home from his busy life in Dubai, Cora can't help but feel very attracted to the man. Until he opens his mouth. When Beckett learns about his father coming home, after being hospitalized, he drops everything from his busy life and heads home. Only to find a strange, but very gorgeous, woman sitting next to his father and holding his hand.

Having been sent to boarding school at a very young age, by one of his many step moms, Beckett is a bit wary of the woman. So, Beckett isn't very convinced of her nursing skills. He decides to stick around to see how his father is doing And although there is a lot of chemistry between Beckett and Cora they both are in denial.

And then Mr. Samuelsen asks Cora to pretend that the are engaged, so that Beckett can return to Dubai and doesn't need to worry about his father. He offers her a lot of money to pretend. Cora is torn: she does want to help Mr. Samuelsen, and she could really use the money, but she doesn't want Beckett to think she is a gold digger. And also, she doesn't want to become the next stepmother who drives Beckett away. Because beneath the tough exterior, Cora has seen a very gentle heart.

will Beckett and Cora finally realize that they are made for each other? Or will all the lies and suspicions drive them apart? Find out for yourself in this wonderful and cozy read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Beckett Samuelson had not spent any time with his father since his mother died when he was young. His first stepmother encouraged his father to send him to boarding school. Beckett's dad remarried two more times and never thought to bring him home or build a relationship with him.

Beckett has become a successful international architect, and he has never developed a lasting relationship with anyone. Mr Samuelson, who loves his son, and follows his career yet he has never had a real conversation with him has become ill. This brings Beckett to his father's side after many years.

The private nurse Corazon and Beckett have an initial attraction when they first meet. The chemistry between the two is tension-filled. Cora is trying to understand Beckett and the relationship between him and his father and his cold distant ways.

Mr Samuelson on the other hand sees two people who should be together and decides to play matchmaker. He also wants to mend his relationship with his son.

OHWB is an interracial romance.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Funny, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Wonderful characters

When Beckett comes back home to visit his ailing father, he's struck by the gorgeous woman who's caring for him now. He wants her but knowing she's his father's nurse, and knowing that he's not going to be staying long, has him trying to restrain himself. Will Cora be the one to heal his broken relationship with his father, all while letting him into her own heart? Or will he fly away back to Dubai leaving both his father and Cora with broken hearts?

When I first read the blurb for Over Her Wed Body I knew right away I had to read it. The main reason because the heroine is Filipina. I could hardly believe my eyes because I rarely find heroines of my own ethnicity in romance, other Asians occasionally, but Filipinas? Rarely. So I'm doubly glad that fact drew me in because this story turned out to be well worth the read. It's sweet and charming, and Cora and Beckett, especially Cora, are strong, loving characters. Beckett's dad Chester deserves a mention too because he's awesome. If not for all his fun shenanigans and scheming, Cora and Beckett never would have met and fallen in love.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
First of all, the book was of suitable size and it was very nice to read with no unnecessary details and descriptions, the characters were easily flowing and the writing was not complicated specially for people whose English is not their native language.
I could see the love story between Cora and Beck, and I love love that starts with a spark then evolves in the main characters' hearts. Also, I liked both the details about the main characters jobs and their passion about them. Chester was a lovely character as well as other supporting characters even those who appeared for few scenes.
I think that the mention of Dubai and Arab world as well as the Philippines were unique and added a lot to the story, many thanks for the author for her knowledge and introducing different cultures to readers.
I would definitely read more books from Alexia Adams and recommend this book to friends.

Cora grew up in the Filipino hill country, leaving at 16 to find a way to help support her poor family. Beckett’s new step mother sent him away to boarding school a eight short months after his mother’s death. Despite leading busy lives, both Cora and Beckett are lonely.

Beckett is immediately attracted to his father’s nurse when he returns to his childhood home in Vancouver to visit his father following his father’s stroke. Cora is also attracted to Beckett, but her life revolves around helping people and helping to financially support her family. She doesn’t believe for a minute that a world famous architect could feel anything but lust for her; he certainly wouldn’t be interested in a future with her.

Can two lonely people who both have trust issues find happiness together?

Golddigger or Princess?

Leia, that is. Or Princess Bride.
This book was fun and fresh and kind of hip.
Cora is from the Phillipines and working in Vancouver. Her client Chester is a handful and kind of scheming.
Fun in that she was dressed up as Princess Leia and having a light saber fight with Chester when his son Beckett walks in and is smitten with his Comic-Con fantasy.

Lot's of pop references, I really liked that Cora was a woman of color.
A good dose of sizzle. And a scheme.
Recommend.

This one was super cute! First of all, Cora and Chester’s relationship was adorable. The Star Wars scene!? Perfection. Cora is such a likable character. She’s so caring and the type of friend anyone would be lucky to have. Beckett is quite the damaged, broody male lead. His relationship with his father is messy and is in such contrast to Cora’s relationship with Chester. I enjoyed watching Cora and Beckett really get to know each other. And Chester’s scheming was a great addition to the story.

Beckett and his father Chester have had a strained relationship ever since the passing of his mother. He has followed in his father’s footsteps by believing that his career is the most important thing in his life but after his father suffers a stroke he returns home to be there for him however his nurse was a complication he wasn’t expecting.

Cora moved to the US to help provide a better life for her family who remained in the Phillipines. She brings life and vitality to not only Chester’s life but Beckett’s as well. She realizes the importance of family and wants to help father and son find their way back to each other, but a misguided scheme could be more of a hindrance than help.

Although Beckett and Cora come from very different lifestyles they couldn’t be a better match for each other as they help each other discover the future they both want.

Beckett returns from quite a lavish lifestyle abroad in order to come check up on his ailing father who has recently suffered a stroke. Upon his return, he meets Cora, a nurse who is currently helping to look after his father. Whilst Beck and Cora appear to be from two different sides of the scales, they do share a lot of similarities in terms of being quite independent and having to make their way through life, on their own, from a relatively young age.

It was interesting to see the different traditions coming through via Cora's Filipino roots in this book. I especially liked that the author actually took some time to go into background details, and also played out a storyline which is quite typical for a lot of people who immigrate from poorer countries/areas, to a more wealthy one, in the hopes of a better life for themselves and their family.

Cora's struggles in regards to sending money back for her family and in the process not being able to see or speak to them on a regular basis pulled at my heart strings. As someone who's ancestors have had to do the same thing, it definitely made me appreciate what they've been through and made me look at Cora's character with more empathy and admiration. Cora was a genuinely sweet and likeable character with a lot of responsibility, and it was nice to see her 'lola' pushing her to keep going for her goals towards the end!

Beck's character surprised me a little, I was expecting the stereotypical 'million/billionaire' type personality from him. Whilst he did show that in some aspects, it wasn't overly cliche, I don't think. He genuinely seemed to really be into his architectural work rather than just doing it for the money, and he didn't have the usual 'overly arrogant jerk' personality that characters like his usually have. His underlying need for approval from his father made me feel for him, as I can understand why he felt like he'd been cast aside. It was interesting to see him say that he understood there were two sides to every story though when one of his stepmothers' appears at the house.

Also, his immediate bond with Jake and Jesse was so adorable. It was nice to see Beck not running in the other direction at the prospect of playing or interacting with them. 'Last week they wanted to be pterodactyls' - I couldn't stop laughing when Cora made that comment. The twins were definitely a great addition to the book! As was Beck's friend Matt. Matt seemed cheeky, yet sweet, and it would be interesting to learn more about the Police detective at some point.

Overall, I liked the book and I liked that it addressed Cora's heritage and background in a non-degrading way. I've read books before where they only mention specific parts of someone's culture or religion etc, but it's done so in a way that makes it seem as though it's lesser or more inferior. It was something a bit out of the ordinary in terms of storyline for me but it was nice to read something new. I rated this book as 3.8 stars. Although the chemistry was there between Beck and Cora, it was a little slow on the romance side for me and whilst I did like all the characters, I wouldn't say I 'loved' them, which is why I didn't rate this higher. However for anyone looking for a relatively sweet/clean billionaire trope with a bit more diversity, that doesn't seem forced or overly done, I would recommend this.

What a sweet, heartwarming romance!

This is one of those rare books that turned out to be so much more than I was expecting. We get the third-person points of view from all three principle characters, and it's not a tawdry or acrimonious story at all. Chester is a man on a mission, resolved to make things right with Beckett and he's not above using Cora to accomplish his plans, making him the real hero of this story.

Beckett is an honorable man with years of hurt and disappointment to overcome, inexplicably drawn to Cora by both her inner and outer beauty. Cora's backstory went so much deeper than I expected, and having the story culminate with her family was absolutely priceless.

I was swept away by the heart of this story with no villains in sight, just one very devious matchmaker! There's enough heat in the reunion scene to set the whole story on fire, and the you-can-have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too HEA was sheer perfection. Beck and Cora's story gave me a lasting case of the warm and fuzzies, and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Beckett is the son of a wealthy businessman, raised in boarding schools away from his father after his mother passed away and his step mom had him sent away. Since then he's grown up and made his own fortune as a highly sought after architect in Dubai. When his father has a stroke, Beckett makes a trip home to try to make come to make peace with his father, or at least find out why his father never brought him back.

What he finds there, is Cora. an in home nurse for his father, who has spent her life sending money to care for her family in the Philippines and has a very easy going relationship with his bear of a father- who isn't so much of a bear. There's an instant attraction between them, but Beck isn't one who trusts easily, and Cora doesn't date employers.

The best parts of this book focused on the family. Cora's professional relationship with Chester, Beckett's father, was really the saving grace.

The premise of this book isn't really like the description. Beck and Cora start to have feelings for each other before Beck's father asks her to marry him. There was, unfortunately, a lot of this book that felt rushed and not fleshed out. I didn't believe a lot of the relationships, especially between Beck and Cora. It was a lighthearted, quick read, but not one that I'll be reaching for again.

3.75/5 stars!

After learning about his father's health problem, the hero returns to find the beautiful heroine taking care of his parent. Instant attraction between the hero and the heroine, though each struggle against misconceptions, especially the hero. The hero's father notices it and decides to have a fake engagement between himself and the heroine. As the attraction deepens, the hero and heroine struggles with family troubles, personal issues, and more in their journey towards happily-ever-after.

This interracial love story was an entertaining book. It has a great cast of characters, especially the twin boys of a friend. I liked that there were glimpses of the heroine's culture and situations highlighting how the Filipino community are doing in another country. I would appreciate more details for some situations as a personal preference of mine. Overall I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more Alexia Adams books in the future.

This is an entertaining story about family relationships and a budding love story. Beck returns home after a long absence to see his dad, who is recovering from a stroke, and meet his dad's nurse, Cora. He is almost immediately entranced by Cora, but doesn't trust women and is leery of her relationship with his dad.

Father and son barely have a relationship, so Cora does her best to mend their relationship until the dad throws a wrench into that plan. All this is while she's dealing with family angst of her own with her family in the Philippines, as her grandmother is ill and their desperate need for money impacts her ability to pursue her own dreams

I thoroughly enjoyed this romance, that is a bit sweet and a bit spicy. I particularly enjoyed the grand gesture - which was both funny and sweet. Both Cora and Beck are compelling characters that made me feel invested in their story and wanting them to get their HEA ending.

If you're a fan of the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.
