I'm always on the lookout for the rare standalone YA Fantasy, and I had high hopes for this book. The story was fine, the book could have been a bit longer to flesh out some of the world building. I also felt that the love triangle was unnecessary and distracting. Those critiques aside, this was a fun book to read and the action kept the story moving. I would gladly recommend this book to teens who are dipping their toes into fantasy and aren't ready to tackle a longer series.

This is a story about skies.

You’ll absolutely know that because variations on the words are on nearly every page… and there’s a love triangle that ends in the most anticlimactic way possible. That being said, I loved the action sequences and the multi perspective narrative increased the scope of the world in cool ways. I’ll definitely check out more by the author in the future.

Thank you so much Tor Teen for the e copy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan-Tor/Forge for providing a copy of this eARC for review.

I absolutely loved this novel. I felt that the author efficiently conveyed information about the world without an info-dump, and that can be difficult, especially for world-building. I understood the premise easily and appreciated the multiple POVs. The politics were interesting and I liked the concept of animals on earth (no spoilers, but it definitely makes sense in the context of the story and adds to the world overall).

I would absolutely read more from this author. I'm disappointed that it took me so long to read this novel. It hooked me and I read it in a single sitting.

Unfortunately, The Endless Skies is yet another book that has sat on my "Currently Reading" list for far too long.

After almost 12 months, I have decided to DNF this book.

It is probable that I would pick it up and try again later, however at this stage, neither the writing nor the story have captured my attention.

I started reading this, but I don't think this is the book for me. I have moved away from YA recently, so it's not really my thing anymore. However, the library I work for did end up buying a few copies.

This book was pitched to me as The sky in deep with Wonder Woman main character energy and it did not disappoint.

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

The Endless Skies is a standalone YA fantasy with an interesting premise. I wish it was a bit better I had really high hopes for this book. The world-building was also interesting, and the magic system was unique, which I appreciated. I love the idea of the floating city and the shapeshifters who inhabit it. The imagery was also strong and painted a vivid picture. However, it felt a bit like an info dump at the beginning with a lot of explanation and detail given at once. You learn so much about the setting, the history of the world, the magic system, the politics, relationships with others, and more. This made the beginning of the story feel much slower-paced than the rest of the book. The story is told from three different points of view, which I didn't like. I don't even like two POV so this was kind of hard to take.

The Endless Skies is such a beautifully written fantasy. The world-building is outstanding. The story is well written with an enchanting storyline and well-developed characters that engage from start to finish. The world is atmospheric and feels real with vivid descriptions and rich imagery. Shannon Price has earned herself a spot on my auto-buy authors list. I cannot get enough. Highly recommended. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book had an amazing plot, but I felt the characters were a bit hard to connect to.

Thank you kindly to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this review copy.

Originally didn’t give feedback because I DNF, but it’s hurting my feedback ratio, so I’ll say the characters were interesting but I didn’t care to continue because of the plot. I also never rate books I DNF but this makes me.

There's more than I expected in this story. It's a blend of fantasy and adventure, with a whiff of political tension and these elements work well. Add in multiple dilemmas Rowan finds herself in-who she loves, what to believe, whether to obey orders, coupled with battles and numerous scrapes she and the others on a quest to save sick children encounter. It all fits nicely, offering readers a fascinating escape into a new world.

I loved this novel! It was riveting, thought-provoking and I couldnt put it down! The author's writing style is beautiful and kept me hooked until the very end.

This novel tells the story about shapeshifters. This novel seems really promising. However, I could not relate to Rowan. I was also confused by the world-building. Still, I recommend this fans of Mercedes Lackey, Laura Sebastian, and Sarah J. Maas!

An action packed standalone fantasy with winged-lion shapeshifters, The Endless Skies sucks you in from the start and doesn't let you go until the final page. It's the choices we make that show who we really are.
Rowan is a headstrong, feisty warrior-elect whose goal in life is to serve her King as one of his warriors. She has some difficult choices to make, but is able to forge her own path both as a warrior and a Leondai.
