Beautiful book filled with delicious treats on every page! Any kind of cookie you can imagine is included. My favorite part is all the pictures! I can't wait to bake my way through this one.

I would like to thank Netgalley, Mariner Books and Rose Levy Beranbaum for an e arc for this book, in return for an independent and honest review.
I enjoyed this book. The recipes were all well written with lots of tips to help the baker. I like those tips and was itching to start baking once I had finished it. There are lots of great cookies to be made, some old favourites and a lot of new ones to me. I can see me making lots of cookies for family and friends this coming festive season.
This book would make a great gift for the baker in your family. Would recommend this book.

So far I have made the Cranberry Sconettes (because cranberries and scones are two of my favorite things in the entire world, so why not!) and the Peanut Butter and Jelly buttons (another perfect pairing), Neither recipe disappointed and I'm excited to try more. I have always wanted to try macarons but have been too intimidated but I think with this book I can do it. I will also be trying some of the Christmas cookie recipes.

Another gem by Rose

Rose Levy Beranbaum is a baking legend and this book is a love letter to cookies that has lots of recipes, some that may have been in other books and some that are adapted or inspired by others. I always enjoy the little descriptions and stories of each cookie. I will be baking the pineapple biscotti for my husband for Christmas! Tons of choices here, rolled, cut, drop, meringues, holiday and lots of tidbit extras - enjoy!

I have mixed feelings about The Cookie Bible. I'm happy to give it five stars for the content, the style, and the photographs. But it will not be a good fit for every baker.

The word "Bible" implies something all-encompassing, and that's what this book is. If you want to learn how to make consistently good cookies, and you're either just starting your adventures in the kitchen or you've been disappointed with your results in the past, this might be the perfect book for you.

Everything you need/want to know about ingredients, equipment and technique is in here. The author holds the baker's hand through every step. This is more like a lab manual than a cookbook, and I mean that in a good way - if you read the recipe ahead of time, follow the steps, give yourself plenty of time, and heed her advice, it would be hard to have a failure.

Many of the recipes look terrific. Some are old favorites with a twist, some will surely become old favorites. But be forewarned - these are not the kind of cookies you're going to whip up 8 dozen of to send in for your child's elementary school bake sale. Most of them are not quickies. You can pause in between steps which gives you some flexibility, as long as you plan for that. Now, if you're looking for something spectacular for a dessert buffet at a more up-scale fundraiser, or if you want something impressive to serve dinner guests, you will definitely find a cookie that fits the bill.

At my age and experience level, and with the success I've had in the kitchen, this is not the cookie book for me. I already have the right kitchen equipment, and I know the difference quality ingredients can make. That information is wasted on me. I shy away from purchasing cookbooks with too much advice for the beginner.

However, should I need a gift for someone who is just starting out on their own, who has expressed an interest in baking, The Cookie Bible along with a cookie sheet or two would be an excellent choice.

Thank you to NetGalley, Rose Levy Beranbaum, and Mariner Books for an ARC of this book.

Being a homebaker, and a fan of Ms. Rose Levy Beranbaum - what more can I ask for!

Think of a cookie, your childhood favourite, that one cookie that brings up memories of warm milk before bed, or the one you like to dip in your tea. You will find it, or a version close to it, in this book. Rose Levy Beranbaum's books are comprehensive, methodical, and very well researched. I can imagine she must have given away a lot of cookies while she was testing the recipes.

There is a lot to love in this book. It's gorgeous, the photographs are beautiful and -thankfully- plentiful, so those of us who are somewhat beginners in the art of cookie baking know what the things actually are supposed to look like. Measurements are given in grams and cups/spoons, temperatures in F and C, keeping everyone happy.. There are variations on the recipes, a list of the equipment needed for each recipes and storage instructions and shelf life.

You'll find plenty of 'traditional' cookies in this book., like chocolate chip cookies (several versions), shortbread or snickerdoodles. But there are also bar and cake cookies, like financiers, madeleines, brownies, blondies, candy bars, and also meringues and meringue based cookies like macarons or schoggis. And after all those cookie recipes, you'll find the extra specials, beautiful things like Cajeta, dulce de leche or lemon curd.

The best thing about this book, in my opinion, is that it makes it possible for basically anybody to bake. The recipes are the equivalent of having your mum write down how to make your favourite cookie, knowing that you tend to bake at 2 am and therefore you wont be able to call her for help when your ganache gets grainy, or your egg whites are not turning into meringue. There are hints and tips for all the problems an enterprising cookie baker may encounter.

If you are a newbie in cookie baking? Get this book. The recipes are so detailed that if you follow them correctly you will have success. Are you a seasoned cookie baker? Get this book, you will expand your cookie repertoire and learn a thing or seven. Are you a professional cookie baker? Definitely get this book!

This cookbook is a bakers dream. It has recipes for a wide variety of cookies for a number of occasions. I also feel it is aimed at both experienced and new bakers alike. I enjoyed making the Lemon Jammies, which were delicious and easy to make. The book is beautiful aesthetically and the photos that accompany the recipes make your mouth water. Overall, this is a great cookbook. I could see myself buying this cookbook for all my fellow baker friends.

The Cookie Bible is a fantastic cookie cook book and one I will be buying a physical copy of when it is published.

First, I love how each recipe is laid out, I find it very intuitive. A description at the top, followed by oven temp, baking time, and equipment just below, and as you continue, each cookie shows all the ingredients in a box. If there are multiple parts to make (cookie, jam, etc.), each item has their own ingredient box. I also appreciate that there are both weight/volume measurements as well as english (cups, teaspoons, etc.) measurements. I've only recently started to bake with a scale, and talk about life changing. The subsections of the recipe are also wonderful, especially Mise En Place, so one can gauge the prep/how much time is really needed. Another cool aspect of this cookbook is it may tell the reader/baker multiple ways to mix a recipe - food processor, mixer, or by hand. Some recipes give directions for each way, or just one depending if/how it will affect the dough. I have never seen this before and think it's vert interesting. Each recipe is so detailed, which is something I love; it even had instructions on the proper way to cool the cookies. Another section I found unique is the Baking Gems. This way give additional insights on slight variations depending on ingredient like in one recipe it discusses the different flour found in the US vs the UK and how that will change the recipe Things such as this are what set this book apart from the random recipes found online.

Outside of the actual recipes, the intro content is great. There are details about the 3 mixing ways , and even a guide for mixing speed definitions in the recipes vs a KitchenAid stand mixer. I love how specific it is so if one has something else they can edit the recipe depending on their equipment. I also appreciate how specific Rose is with the ingredients, even up to the brands. I find it refreshing she uses commonly found brands so it is more accessible to the everyday baker. This cook book is filled with tips and tricks about everything from types of cookie sheets to how to properly measure flour. I've already learns a bunch of new things reading through this cookie book.

Concerning the specific recipes, I found them to be very diverse. We have everything from the classic chocolate chip cook, to a tahini cookie. There's holiday cookies, and brownies and bars. We even get a macaron with lemon curd and a puff pastry cookie. I cannot forget to mention the photography is stunning throughout. Theses cookies have inspiration from all over the world, but in a way that are highly accessible. I think just about anyone who likes or wants to learn to bake many types of cookies would love this book.

Thank you to Netgalley, Mariner Books and Rose Levy Beranbaum for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Oh... My... Goodness... Let me tell you I was drooling reading this cookbook.
The cookis are amazing and the recipes are so well written - there is no way you won't make them right.
The author is explaining every step so nicely I really enjoyed it and can't wait to start making these beauties.
I really recommend this cookbook.

Gorgeous cookbook -- and I love some of the extra information provided here, such as a discussion of the best flours for dusting and reasonings between sugar called for in a give recipe. The 'mise en place' sections are also so helpful as you'll never end up ready to start baking only to discover you should have taken out the butter this morning and cleaned that one bowl you'll need already. Another excellent feature is the dual measuring guides, by both volume and weight. I hate measuring in cups/tablespoons, etc., so this feature absolutely makes my day!

There are some really interesting and exciting recipes here and while a good number of them exceed my fair-to-middling baking skills, there are still plenty I'm excited to try and a few I'd like to think I'll eventually be brave enough to try considering how clear and detailed the instructions are here.

I think this is absolutely a go-to kind of cook(ie)book! Awesome.

Only note, I do hope they include more notes of which cookie is featured on which page as it is not always clear which cookie is on the section intro pages, etc. and they all look amazing, so the reader defo wants to know which is which!

I can't wait for the physical copy and add it to my shelf!

I've read The Cake Bible in the past and was thrilled to be approved to review an early copy of The Cookie Bible. First of all, let me say that I love the way this book is laid out. It has extremely helpful tips up front and goes into detail about the methods of baking and the equipment. Each recipe also includes "Baking Gems" with additional tips on that particular cookie. It even has a small section on High Altitude, which I particularly appreciate, as I live at 7500 feet above sea level and most cookbooks don't seem to address this issue. I also love that each recipe is accompanied by a photo so you can see how the finished cookie should look. I made three of the cookies in this book: Double Ginger Molasses Cookies, Chocolate Crackle Cookies and My Dream Chocolate Chip Cookies. All of them were delicious. I've been baking for several years and I can appreciate all the steps in each recipe, but it may be a bit advanced for a beginner, or someone in a rush. Often there are steps like browning the butter first, or refrigerating the dough before baking, making fillings, etc. As the instructions at the beginning of the book state, be sure to read through the entire recipe before starting. This is so important to ensure there are no surprises half way through the process. Ms. Beranbaum is a true professional and these cookies reflect that. I am looking forward to making more from this book and will definitely add a hardcopy to my baking library. Highly recommend this book.

The Cookie Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum is definitely a cookie like bible. She goes into such detail with her recipes, including the recipe, history of each cookie 🍪 and storing instructions. The detail she goes into with each recipe is overwhelming and intimidating for me who is an average baker . The photos of the cookies are beautiful and complement each recipe and this book is more geared to serious bakers and people who have lots of time to devote to the passion for baking. There are also lots of ingredients for each recipe which didn’t necessarily appeal to me, as a simple baker. This cookie recipe book could also be referred to as the classic cookie encyclopedia for 🍪 cookie bakers.👏🍪😋

Yum. That describes this book in one word. Lots of recipes, beautiful pictures and (although I am not a baker) instructions that even I can follow! Takes your baking to a whole new level!

Thank you, NetGalley, for an e-ARC of the Cookie Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum.
The Cookie Bible is an exhaustive compilation of cookie recipes. As someone who loves to bake cookies, I found this book to be delightful. So many recipes I want to try! This is a cookbook I plan to purchase and will give as gifts. The complexity of the recipes makes it a book for more serious bakers. However, Beranbaum gives thorough instructions, tips, and resources for those looking to take cookie baking to the next level.

This is a really lovely collection of recipes with a full range of cookie types, from basic chocolate chip to sandwich cookies to meringues, with gorgeous photographs all throughout the book. The recipes look complete, with options for working with food processors or stand mixers and include tips and tricks both for before starting and along the way, substitutions, etc. It looks like this has the range from basic to complex recipes so it should appeal to bakers from beginners to experts, and there will be something new to try for a long time to come! There are definitely some in here I'm looking forward to trying right away!

This is a very well-organized, pretty cookbook. I love the layout of each recipe and the book overall. Sadly for me, there aren't many vegan recipes but I've bookmarked several I can easily "veganize". I think this book will be very popular around the holidays at my branch library location.

This is THE cookie book to own if you want recipes for almost every cookie known to man! Seriously, from Chocolate Chip to Macarons, this book has it! I loved that this book starts out, Chapter 1, with the “Golden Rules” for baking the best cookies. And almost every recipe has a “Baking Gem” or additional helpful info for that recipe. It’s as if the author anticipated all of our weird questions and answered them in these “Gems”. I also really appreciated that each recipe is broken down in metric and imperial units of measurement, so helpful. This book is laid out beautifully with only one recipe per page, and big mouth watering photos. This book is releasing on November 1, 2021, just in time to buy a few for Christmas presents.
