A book that's guaranteed to inspire you and make your mouth water with all the delicious recipes and illustrations. Sugar rush for the soul.

The book begins with a small introduction to the history of cookies and the author's first experience with homebaked cookies.
Then we get some great tips and tricks for making the best cookies possible going through everything from equipment like which mixer to use and how hot your oven should be to important ingredients. Then we get to the main character the cookie. Page after page of delicious delightfulness. Just looking at the pictures made me very happy each cookie a piece of art that I can't wait to taste.

Diving into this book and choosing one recipe was harder than I thought. Let's say I wanted to try my hand at making chocolate chip cookies I had not one, not two but three different recipes depending on if I want them chips or chewy or with double chocolate.
Rose Levy Beranbaum has put thought and effort into each page. It's easy to see that this book is made with a lot of love for cookies and baking.
There's a foundation for hours of kitchen fun for all ages and each step in a recipe is carefully described so even the youngest in the family should be able to follow along (with help of the course).

I'm very visual when I bake and therefore it's important for me to know how the final result should look. Sadly there weren't pictures on every recipe. I know it's already a big book but I think pictures are essential and should have been prioritized.

I recommend this book for every cookie-loving soul out there even if you're a novice at baking or have previously been intimidated by following recipes you should give this book a go. If you are already an advanced Baker you may still find some great inspiration between the pages.

Thank you to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for giving me a chance to read this book. ARC received through Netgalley in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

WOW! What a book. This deservedly owns the name "The Cookie Bible"!

This is a very detailed and well organized cookbook showing you how to make almost every cookie you can think of and likely a ton of cookies that you've never even heard of, but must now create!

The recipes are well laid out, telling you any special equipment you might need, and featuring mise en place, which is awesome.

I especially look forward to the Linzer cookies and the Hamantaschen.

Well done Rose Levy Berenbaum!

I really like the fact that the sections are by how you make the cookies: rolled by hand, dropped or piped, shaped by hand, rolled and cut, etc. I am especially thankful that the ingredients are in grams AND cups/tablespoons. This makes my life 100% easier. I do wish that there was a picture with each recipe, though, as I don't know all these cookies by name.

The Cookie Bible covers everything you need to know to be a cookie baker aficionado and I loved it. Baking is one of those things that I love to do! The first thing my grandkids look for when they come into my kitchen is what I've been baking for them! Because face it - when I know they are coming...I bake cookies!! This book has old and new favorites with hints along the way to perfect them, as well as the best tools to use to get the best results. I have to admit a favorite part of the recipes is the mise en place --- because I always want to have everything ready to go before I dive into the baking part! The author, Rose Levy Beranbaum’, definitely wrote a must-have book for the kitchen of the baker who wants to perfect the art of cookie baking! All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for the opportunity to read and review this advance reader copy. #NetGalley #TheCookieBible

This cookbook is not for the faint of heart. If you are a beginner cookie baker, it may feel a little overwhelming. I have been baking for 45 years and many of these recipes were intimidating. But it does contain lots of scrumptious sounding recipes and you will learn new techniques such as shredding fresh coconut. Don't expect these recipes to be simple...even the chocolate chip cookie recipe calls for browned clarified butter, which of course is another technique demonstrated in The Cookie Bible. The only drawback to this book is there is not a photo for every cookie, which I would have preferred.

Delicious and delightful! Loved the content. The photographs and the step by step instructions were down right perfect. Honestly the best cookbook for cookies I've seen! Excited for this to hit the shelves!

The Cookie Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum is a beautiful book! Even if you are not a Baker this is a book you will enjoy if just for the pictures! The collection of recipes is extensive and includes both new recipes and new takes on old favorites. There is something delicious for everyone in this book.
The other benefit to this book is the detailed information on the prep for each recipe. It is organized, clear, and you'll learn valuable techniques that make baking these gems successful.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author for this ARC of The Cookie Bible. I will be buying hard copies when it is in print- for me and for my friends.

You'd expect a cookie cookbook from Beranbaum to be excellent and I'm glad to report that it is. Beranbaum covers a wide range of cookies starting from the humble chocolate chip cookie (with all sorts of variations and explanations of why those variations work) to meringue based cookies and mini gateaux bretons made into cookies.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

As an avid baker, I always love getting new cookbooks to try. In The Cookie Bible, the recipes are wonderfully detailed, but the prep could use some clarification and priority given to steps not included in standard baking. It was well photographed and annotated with hints and tricks that were useful, but some major steps in prep could have really been prioritized and detailed more thoroughly. The recipes baked well, but this book is definitely meant for the advanced home cook, not someone who is just learning. There are some pretty labor and time intensive recipes, but they are set out in a way that you can prep several types at once with space between steps if you plan on a major baking day. Alternatively, they also include hold times for freezing, and references as to where in the process they can be held in advance.

Great cookie cookbook with lots of details on how to bake cookie and the ingredients/supplies needed. I liked how it had the measurements in cups and also grams to be extremely accurate. The pictures are great and the recipes are a very wide variety. There are the classic cookies and also a lot of new recipes I have never seen. I would not recommend this to a person just starting to bake, I think the information and set up could be a bit overwhelming.

This looks like an excellent cookie cook book. I love how the sections are divided, for example shaped by hand, bar cookies or meringues. The cookbook is also full of tricks and tips for making the best cookies. I can’t wait to make some recipes!

THE COOKIE BIBLE: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This cookbook is rad. Some of the same tried and true recipes along with some that are new to me and culture specific. I can see this becoming a well worn copy on my cookbook shelf.

NOTE: I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thanks Netgalley!

Rose Levy Beranbaum has done it again with this cookie book. You know you will be getting recipes that have been perfected over years of use.

What I like especially is that she has added measurements both in volume (cups, teaspoons, and mL etc.) and in weight (in grams) so that you can use either method to measure your ingredients.

The color photos of each cookie are also beautiful, and they help you know if you have made them correctly!

She has also added tips (called “Baking Gems”) at the end of each recipe. This treasured advice will add to your overall baking knowledge.

There is even a cookie you can bake for your dog!!

Some of the cookies I am most excited about are:

Dream Chocolate Chip Cookies
The Ischler
Pepparkakors
Raspberry Linzer Hearts
Rose’s all time favorite – her Almond Crescents
Scottish Shortbread
Swiss Lebkuchen

She has cookies from many European countries, as well as some Asian and Middle Eastern inspired cookies.

Full 5 stars. I am a reviewer for NetGalley and I received a free ARC for this book.

As the title suggests, The Cookie Bible is the definitive manual for all things cookie related. It’s chock full of traditional plus newer-style recipes for cookies, bars, and candy. There are loads of tips and instructions to help even a novice baker become an expert in the kitchen. The pictures will induce drooling - Rose Levy Beranbaum is a treasure and this book is a winner!

Thank you to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my review.

Loved it! Cookie Bible is aptly named and a wealth of information about making cookies! The cover was eye catching but the title cinched the interest.

What did I like? Gorgeous book! With some mouth watering pictures but the tips and tricks were what had me grabbing this up. I have a huge weakness for sugar cookies but I can never get them to taste like the ones from my childhood. If you feel the same about a particular cookie then you may be grabbing this book up too. It has a nice holiday cookie section as well. I like the tips on measuring flour, and the ingredient lists down to the gram. Seems like a sure fired way to make a good cookie. I bookmarked a few to try and make!

Would I recommend or buy? I would cherish a copy of this book! I’m a grandma so making cookies for the little ones sounds great! The cookies range from every day to high end cookies I’d never heard of. If your into baking or just beginning then this book looks like a cookie making winner! Four stars!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

This is one of the most beautiful cookbooks I have ever read. The pictures are glorious. I want to eat them all! The recipes are well written and use accessible ingredients, which is important to those of use who don't live in a large city. I can't wait to start baking.

I intend to add this book to my cookbook collection as soon as I can. Anyone who bakes, at any skill level, will love this book!

Thank you to Netgalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for this ARC in exchange for my review.

The Cookie Bible makes me want to get into my kitchen right now and bake as many of these recipes as possible. This cookbook is divided into 8 distinct chapters and includes an incredible variety of cookie recipes. From household staples to holiday specialties to cookies from around the world, there is sure to be a handful of recipes in this book to suit most readers. The recipes are descriptive and easy to follow, and the attention to detail to give specific suggestions for many of the ingredients shows how much care is taken in the creation of each cookie recipe. While this may not be my everyday go-to kind of cookbook due to the complexity of many of the recipes, it will certainly have a place on my bookshelf.

This is definitely one to have for your kitchen collection. It certainly is a cookie bible with tons of delicious cookie recipes. The recipes are easy to follow, and we love all the photography.

The only issue for me was that many of the recipes aren’t a good fit for my family, because they take preplanning which adds a lot time to the finished product. With five kids we really like to have simpler recipes that aren’t so fancy. However, I won’t deny there’s something for everyone here!
